Speedy deletion of Lee withers[edit]

A tag has been placed on Lee withers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. How is this irrelevant!, who are you to decide, this has a very valid point to it, I can't back this up quick enough if wikipedia don't give me enough time to make the page!! Lee Withers is a nephew of Bill Withers, that relevant enough for you?? Or you only like talking about famous people in general!!

Okay, what is it about Lee Withers that makes him notable independently of Bill Withers? Because if you recreate the article, that is the information the article should contain in the very first edit if the article is to be kept. See speedy deletion criterion A7 and notability is not inherited. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:07, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So it would be relevant if I start, Lee Withers, nephew of Soul singer, Bill Withers' I'm on the right track??

Doesn't even begin to be relevant. What would have made Lee Withers notable if Bill Withers had never existed? -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:13, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Did you not read my page? There was plenty there, Lee Withers has a fanclub of over 1800 people in the UK!

Doing what? -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Origianlly, stand up comedy, basing all of his jokes on wikipedia facts he'd found, Then his act involved a small music skit, into which he is making his first album 'i'm so wikied'

Okay, that's a start. Now, can you provide a solid reference for the size of his fan club? By that I mean, the numbers cannot come from the fan club itself (as these have a tendency to boost their own numbers), nor a blog, nor a forum. But most important perhaps is to show non-trivial coverage of this person by a source not affiliated to him, his producers, or his fan club. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:31, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
