Fair use rationale for Image:Forest12.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Forest12.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Forbidden Fruit (album).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 14:31, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey. I saw you tagged this article for AfD, but you did not create the AfD page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lenny Thomas. Can you please remove what is there and finish the AfD process listed at WP:AFD#How to list pages for deletion and give an explanation why the page should be deleted? Thanks. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 16:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for informing me, i planned to , but was actually working on several edits at the same time (a stupid thing to do!) , so i forgot.I explained myself and why i did so. Thanks again, i will be copying this into your userpage.Λua∫Wise (talk) 16:21, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
What I meant was that the AfD page was malformed. It doesn't have the same style as the other AfD articles; you need to use the afd2 template that's listed on the How to page. You also didn't list the AfD on the log page for today, but I went ahead and did that for you. Please go back and use the afd2 template. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 16:23, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I saw that you listed it on the log page for today. i aslo placed the AfD2 on the project's page, and explained why i did so. Anyway, the article has about 10 words, no sources, but it can be expanded greatly, although i faced some difficulty in locating internet sources for Lenny Thomas.Λua∫Wise (talk) 16:36, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

hello!

I corrected a few french language & spelling mistakes on your user page ;)

Hey man, THANKS. i guess that Fr-4 userbox is not completely true. but thanks! or should I say MERCI!Λua∫Wise (talk) 17:58, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, my native language is french :) And i live in Montréal... --Party (talk) 18:08, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Unsourced?

Please don't put "unsourced" templates on sourced articles, as you did on the France national beach soccer team, cheers. BanRay 18:45, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, i meant to use {{sources}} rather than {{Unreferenced}}, O' well! Λua∫Wise (talk) 18:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
I didn't put any templates on the page, it's perfectly sourced for a stub, please be more attentive next time. BanRay 18:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, alright no problem, didn't get your point at first sorry. BanRay 18:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok! :)Λua∫Wise (talk) 18:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
oh and also stub templates are supposed to be placed on the bottom of the page and it's usually better to use a more specific template rather than a general one ({{France-stub}} or {{Portugal-stub}} for example), just an advice ;) BanRay 19:02, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice man, you know what? i asked myself: where should i put them about an hour ago, and i remembered seeing them on the top of pages... well i guess i have a bad memory. but thanks!Λua∫Wise (talk) 19:04, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Um, why?CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:16, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

The user "brad" seems new to Wikipedia, so I thought i would give him a chance to explain himself, We should not bite newcomers, now should we?

I tried to explain to him what to do, before his first article is mercilessly removed. I am not particularly involved with the article, but it is my duty to help new wikipedians, do not you think?Λua∫Wise (talk) 16:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Teen Resource Center deletion, why?

I wanted to know what is wrong with the page Teen Resource Center?

Hello Brad, I am sorry that you are having trouble with your article.
The article Teen Resource Center was nominated for deletion by user Cobaltbluetony, the reason is: it does meet the Wikipedia notability criteria; which means in simple terms, the kind of article that you are not likely to meet in an encyclopedia. i posted {{hangon}} to delay its deletion, if you want to save the article, you have to go to its talk page and explain why it is important and should stay.

If you want, i will help you. Please note that next time you start an article, put {{underconstruction}} while you are working, so that others know you are not finished with the article. Hope this helps!:)
best of luck. Λua∫Wise (talk) 16:13, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
While I am all for creating a much friendlier response to non-notable articles, I am nonetheless adamant about keeping the speedy deletion process free-flowing. Plenty of discussion can be had with the user post-deletion, and you can take all the time you want to spoon-feed them. However, you'll notice that Special:Newpages swells with nonsense at specific times thorughout the day by any kid on lunch break, study hall, etc., who just wants to waste time. I'm all for creating an interstitial, simplified redirect page that easily conveys why a page was deleted, but I do not want to stunt the legitimate deletion process as if doing so itself were biting. It is not; this is how Wikipedia works. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:49, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, I agree with you there; you made a very good case. I know the kind of nonsense on Special:Newpages, and i am constantly stunned by the amount of articles that are created with the sole goal of childish amusement and destructive humor. I usually tag them for speedy deletion, However this user seems serious about his article. It is now up to him to save it. I removed my {{hangon}}but he still has to make the case for himself.Λua∫Wise (talk) 16:58, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:57, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Mark Mangino

Just wondering if you deleted my entry on the 2007-08 season (under "Mark Mangino") because it was excessive or because it was under a wrong heading (maybe it should have been under "Jayhawk Football" or something more related to the team than the coach. Just wondering, I worked a bit on that article and though it was pretty lucid and informative. Thanks. Beerbaker (talk) 18:28, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello,
Thanks for your contributions.
I checked the article agian, and it appears that i have mistaken your edits for vandalism, i have reverted it now, so that your last edit is the current one. Do not worry, you have done a great job on that article.Λua∫Wise (talk) 18:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I spent some time on that article, and I just wanted to make sure it was in the right place. I'm glad theres people like you patrolling though, keep up the good work.

Beerbaker (talk) 02:36, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I saw that you are gradually building up the article, which is in my opinion a major project in itself. Best of luck in your efforts, if you need help, please do not hesitate to leave a message on my talk page.Λua∫Wise (talk) 10:04, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I originally just did an entry for this season because of how successful it was, but after I wrote such a long entry I realize that I can't just ignore Mangino's previous years in Lawrence. Rest assured, I will take the time to fill it out as I can over the upcoming semester, and I'll contact you if I have any questions. Thanks again. Beerbaker (talk) 05:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Forbidden Fruit elegy.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Forbidden Fruit elegy.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

List of Theories article

I am the guy who wrote List of scientific theories and laws, and I have improved it some. I was transferring the stuff from the bottom of the page into the appropriate category when you left your message. I will keep working to give it more and more info, gradually, but am I on the right track?scosco (talk) 20:50, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Great improvement, i see that you put all theories below, and then sort them out. And the answer to your question is: yes, you are on the right track. Usually people do not do well on their first article, but you did a great job. To let people know that you are working on the article, and so they do not tag it for deletion, use this tag {{underconstruction}}.

Best of luck.

P.S. Please add your messages to the bottom of talk pages.Λua∫Wise (talk) 20:59, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

I'll respect the {{underconstruction}} tag for a day or two, but frankly I find it very hard to see (from the Myspace and 'official website') how a poster shop is going to meet these criteria. However I'm always willing to be proved wrong! Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 20:48, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I was patrolling recent changes, and found this article. The article had originally just this: page in progress, and no such thing as myspace link(s)!!! So, i thought the person writing the article was serious about it, and was actively contributing at the moment, ergo replaced the "page in progress" title with the more formal {{underconstruction}} tag. Well, it seems this page is created for the sole purpose of destructive humor and vandalism. I will be tagging it for speedy deletion shortly. Thanks for informing me.20:55, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

PhysicalFitnet Why Spam?

How are we different than crossfit.com and exrx.net? They are everywhere on wikipedia. We are less commercial than them and all of our crontibutions are free of charge for everyone and topic related. Please we need an answer.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Physicalfitnet (talkcontribs) 11:38, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello,
The fact that you used the word "We" means that you are advertising for this particular web site: Physical Exercise Video Demonstrations by Trainers (Please correct me if am wrong) Also, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If you want to insert a certain link, than you are using that link to add information to Wikipedia, not putting there so that others can see your web site. If you think that there are other undetected spam links, please report them, or tell me the name of the page and i will investigate.
