Edith Granger Photo[edit]

Thanks for your message. I noticed what your website says. But I also note that there is no valid copyright on the image, as something that was published prior to to January 1, 1926 in the United States. My understanding is therefore that no-one (including the Smith College Archives) has any right to restrict how it may be used. Do you know any other reason why it may not be used? I may be wrong. The image is the possession of the Archives. I am trying to respect the Archives and their terms. I don't understand why you continue to want to change the image from the one I added which is allowable under copyright.

Also I don't think you should assume the class book is considered "published" under what you understand of copyright law. I am a librarian that works with licensing and copyright so I wish you would respect my professional opinion and the terms of the Smith College Archives. I was simply trying to correct details in this entry that some person started and also respect materials and copyright of an archives. If you feel the need to change it again, I can't stop you and I don't have much interest in returning to this entry. If you believe the criteria used for Wikipedia hosting the image is invalid, you can challenge it here. It can then be assessed by someone with a better understanding of Wikipedia policy and relevant laws.
