Hi, I noticed that you were trying to add a photo to the article. The photo wasn't displaying because the file name is wrong or the file doesn't exist, so I blanked the photo= and caption= parameters. —rybec 09:06, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Weclome[edit]

I did add the image to the article. I agree that wikipedia is a mess of rules lacking humanity. I would like to include a decent image of Ms. Miles in her article. Feel free to email me with Special:EmailUser and just enter Canoe1967 if you wish to resolve this mess. I am well versed at uploading images without all the drama.--Canoe1967 (talk) 02:50, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Canoe. New to all of this and appreciate your help. However, I have been trying unsuccessfully to delete the blonde image that you have kindly uploaded. How can I email you a current photo that I would like to replace in that particular template? Also I would love to add a lovely new photo to the main page above (or somewhere prominent) the biography section? Alannah Myles for Avatarecord inc (talk) 03:03, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They are very easy to upload. The biggest problem is the copyright. Although it is a picture of you, the photographer actually holds the copyright. I have made that transit file over in commons with the image you requested. You can click the 'upload new version' link below the history/thumbnail to replace it. After doing so then change the photographer name and licence if needed. The photographer should still email the OTRS to verify their licence. If they have a flickr account that is usually faster. Make sure they know what a CC-by-3.0 licence is. You still maintain your 'personality rights' so any commercial use should not be an issue.--Canoe1967 (talk) 05:54, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
