Boston Road Railway Station: That more / all trains started to use the station[edit]

"The St Peter's College station attained full public station status with all trains stopping there from 1993 and was named the Boston Road Station." (as at 4 November 2014)

I can't cite anything (perhaps someone who collects timetables can), but my memory of this differs. I attended the school from 1996-2000 and remember that there was only a platform on the school side and that only two trains in and two (later more) trains out stopped there in '96.

I'm not sure of dates but this eventually expanded to all AM inbound trains and all PM outbound trains up until the second platform was built in 1997 when all the west line's station platforms were extended for four-car trains, it was only then that all trains stopped at Boston Rd. On the side, before 1997 I don't think the station had any lighting. Awnz1 (talk) 04:30, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Awnz1, Thanks for your contribution.. I am responsible for the statement. The whole history of the Boston Rd station as expressed in this article was originally in the St Peter's College, Auckland wikipedia article. I moved it all into the station article because the SPC article was too long. When it was in the SPC article, the statement had the following reference: Sean Millar, Railway Stations of Auckland's Western Line: Boston Road to Waitakere before the 2004 upgrade programme, 2nd edition, Sean Millar, Huia, 2007, p. 4. I will add it to the station article now. But you could perhaps check the reference (AucklandPublic Library will surely have the publication) and correct the statement and/or the reference if you feel it is necessary.Rick570 (talk) 6:30, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
