The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing the new article The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Second Age (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. GSK 04:33, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Second age (band)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Second age (band). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Second Age (band). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Second Age (band) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. GSK 04:33, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't create hoaxes. Add this, or something like this, one more time and you'll be blocked. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 04:40, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My band is a real band. I only stated I was planning on releasing music and have actually already released music to numerous websites. I receive e-mails every Thursday updating my position on the charts concerning Number One Music, and i have the e-mails to prove that I legitimately have topped the US Hard Rock and US Metal Charts, peaked (so far) at #2 on the US All-Genres charts and peaked (so far) at #13 on the All Countries Hard Rock Charts. The page I created initially was a partial hoax, with future goals inserted as illegitimate facts, however, I received the notification from Drmies, and went through my document, deleting any untrue things. Anything in that website was completely true. Axl Sprowls (talk) 05:04, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You seem to only be here to promote your band and make up things about it; this goes against our policies. I don't see any reason to believe that you won't continue doing that if we unblock you. only (talk) 09:19, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Well I guess looking back I should've read the terms and policies, but if you unblock me then I will quit posting about my band and stick to only facts. And if you for some reason catch me doin' it again, go ahead and reblock me and I won't say a word about it.

If an unblock were to be granted, what types of pages would you be editing and what kind of information/changes would you make? Maybe you can show us some sample changes you'd make here on this page so we can get an idea. only (talk) 09:57, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Only, I wouldn't oppose an unblock if the user promises to edit constructively and follow our guidelines. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 17:54, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
