August 2007[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Ted Bundy. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. Acroterion (talk) 14:42, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Ted Bundy. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 14:44, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Ronald McDonald, you will be blocked from editing. Acroterion (talk) 14:45, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism to Same sex marriage[edit]

Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Fireplace 03:21, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copper nanotube[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Copper nanotube, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for inserting misinformation into the encyclopedia, as here and here.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Request reason:

Regarding the Sol (Colloid) article. Oil in Water is not a Sol. A sol, by definition, is a solid dispersed in a liquid. Is oil a solid? No. Are the particles dispersed in milk, blood and pigments solids? Yes. How did someone decide that my edit was misinformation without any knowledge of chemistry. And regarding the naming of Copper Nanotubes, Carbon Nanotubes are named CNTs as C is the elemental symbol for Carbon, and Cu is the elemental symbol for Copper. Anyone is free to look up the articles for Carbon Nanotubes to check the nomenclature. refer to the Colloid article for the examples of a Sol too. Why is someone that lacks a chemistry degree deciding on the content for chemical articles?

Decline reason:

Nope. You were engaging in complex scientific and racist vandalism. east.718 at 16:19, 11/5/2007

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'll be honest with you; I wasn't at all sure whether those edits were malicious or not. I double-checked your edit history, to see if you had a history of making helpful and accurate edits, and I found a history of blatant vandalism. If I was wrong, then I apologize, and encourage you to include cited sources with your edits, so an editor reviewing your contributions can verify their accuracy. I'll allow another administrator to review your contributions, and reviewing admin, I won't consider it wheel-warring if you discover that these edits are indeed accurate and choose to overturn my block. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Azz301, can you supply a reference to a reliable source, preferably online, that would support your contested edit? If so, I'll consider unblocking you. Sandstein 13:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you misrepresent your status by removing the reviewing admin's decline notice again, I'll protect this talk page so you can't edit here again. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One reference for CuNTs is the paper: Electrochemical synthesis of metal and semimetal nanotube–nanowire heterojunctions and their electronic transport properties. Chem. Commun., (2007), p1733-1735. An electronic copy of this journal can be found here: http://www.rsc.org/ej/CC/2007/b614147a.pdf
It isn't my problem if scientists have a dirty sense of humour - refer to Arsole for another example, and the book published on the topic The Chemistry of Arsoles.
Colloid clearly describes what a Sol is (and examples of which) in the main table on the page. Whereas, the Sol_(colloid) page has the wrong information. Any chemistry text-book that covers basic colloidal chemistry shows that a Sol is a solid dispersed in a liquid, and derives its name from that fact.
Regarding the removal of the reviewing admin's decline notice - that was an accident, and I'm sorry for that.
