You are currently using RedWarn in a way that is strongly discouraged under guidelines set at WP:REDWARN/A. The specific behaviour is:

  • Bypassing any permission level restriction (i.e. using RedWarn before autoconfirmed, or using restricted features, such as the multiple-action toolm, before becoming extended-confirmed)

Bypassing RedWarn's feature restrictions is contrary to community consensus. Restrictions are not implemented in RedWarn without reason. While no action will be taken for now, you may be subject to more restrictions in future if we see fit. Regards, Ed talk! 14:53, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Karan Bajaj[edit]

Greetings, BJackJS! No vandalism here - just working on improving the article. Let me explain my edit. I consolidated the information about the books and adaptations in two sections and added/verified all the sources there. Plus, I removed the redundant, unverified information. The author has only tree books, not four as it is claimed on the page because The Yoga of Max's Discontent is an international release of the "Seeker" it clearly shows in the text and in the citations. The film information is very promotional and unorganized, so I doubled checked and cut it and also consolidated the information in one section - "Adaptations" Two external links were deadlinks or the same citatons like in the Lead Section, so I cut them too, leaving only the author's website and the interview. All the citations were trimmed and re-organized for for Wikipedia readers. All the information is now confirmed and organized. Please, double check my edits before reverting them again. If there is something wrong, please, let me know on Bajaj's page. 2601:1C0:CB01:2660:6CD5:7CF4:3900:1AF3 (talk) 21:38, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, your explantation didn't seem to load properly. My fault, sorry about that. BJackJS talk 21:46, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Putting the code for the PR fixer somewhere common[edit]

Thanks greatly for your bot fixing those links, it is much appreciated by all :). Is it possible to put the code somewhere where it can be directly accessed by people other than yourself? (I'm not sure if this is already the case). One problem we have in peer review is that people come and go and the code often has to be reinvented from scratch, so I have been thinking it would be preferable to have code accessible by all placed somewhere with a view to using it in future if required :). --Tom (LT) (talk) 00:52, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have a github open, here is the link: link BJackJS talk 01:44, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Post PR broken links bot[edit]

Hi BJackBS, I was wondering if you're interested in preparing a bot to run through all old peer reviews and preemptively add some useful data (|ID=, |reviewedname= and |date=) once this bot has fixed up the links? That will not only prevent the future problem of broken links, but also provide more information for readers and also importantly help us integrate with {{Article history}} more easily. Would you be interested? --Tom (LT) (talk) 23:16, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I like that idea,=. I hope my bot gets approved and I can fix the links so I can move on to do this. BJackJS talk 00:31, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Good Evening. My name is Mathew. I frequently visit wikipedia to read and learn, though I have never contributed or edited anything on the site. I have no clue how.

When I visited the site tonight, there was a message stating that I had engaged in disruptive editing. I dont know why I received this message, I have no idea how to edit at all (nor do I have any interest in doing so. My computer is not shared nor do I shar my ISP. When I logged into the chat help section, my chat name came up as "EmeraldOcelot24" I dont know who that is either. At the top of the wikipedia page, it says "not logged in" Your name was linked to my message. Can you help me ? I dont want to get banned from the site when I didnt do anything.

Thank you for your time and patience

Mathew

Hi Mathew,

Are you editing from a shared computer? Are you editing at work/school or another shared wifi?

If so, I STRONGLY recommend that you register an account so that edits from others sharing the computer/wifi don't get shown as yours.

Thank you, BJackJS talk 04:20, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am accessing the site from my own personal computer at home, and it is not shared by anyone, as I live alone. I am not sharing my internet with anyone also, so unless someone guessed my password and is stealing my wifi.

Thank you for the hasty response, I appreciate it.

Mathew,

If this is the case I still recommend getting an account just so that any edits made by your IP that may not be you are not associated with you. You will not be banned from viewing, however if this fails to stop from your IP your IP may be blocked only from editing.

Kind regards, BJackJS talk 04:05, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
