ESPN Box Score[edit]

I saw your note (directed at someone else) on 2014–15 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team about not using ESPN box scores and using the box scores from the school instead. What is the rationale for this? I'm not trying to start an argument or anything -- I'm genuinely curious if there's something I'm missing since I've used ESPN box scores as sources in the past. It's my understanding that ESPN would be an independent source and therefore preferred in comparison to something published by the school that is the topic of the article. Jalen Brunson image feedback[edit]

Given that you have made at least 10 edits to 2014–15 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team, I thought you might give me image feedback at Talk:Jalen_Brunson#Post_IHSA_main_image_candidates. Last weekend was the 2nd time this year I took photos of Jalen Brunson and I am considering a new main image. Although I will be attending several 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game events, last weekend was the last time this year that Brunson will be my primary photographic subject so I wanted some feedback on the new images I have of him.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:25, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, BUPetey! Hey regarding our conversation at my page, I seem to recall some unreferenced content in the article about them patrolling some neighborhoods near the campus. Depending on the reasons for that, this is something that may have been discussed in some law enforcement journals. If the reason they patrol there is simply "jurisdictional extension" (a PD has legal authority a certain distance from its jurisdictional boundaries, generally 2-5 miles. It varies by state), or mutual aid pacts, I doubt there would have been any coverage of it, unless there was a court case involved. But if they are contracted for it, especially the neighborhood in Indy, then that is significantly different enough that some grad student or prof may have chosen to write about it. If you want to research and see, go for it. If you can find good sources, just revert my edit redirecting the article and add the new content and sources. I cannot help much with the research, but if you find any sources that you would like me to review, just let me know.
I am not against PD's having articles when they are notable, it is just that most are not. The problem with showing notability for a PD is it is a real problem doing the research. Almost all your search results will be crime stories, which are almost always not really about the PD but about the crime. Sources for notability for a PD need to be primarily about the PD, not about crimes they have interdicted in. Things like history, controversy, innovation. If I can help you revive the article, I will be happy to. John from Idegon (talk) 19:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your insight, I'm just a big Butler homer and love everything about it. I'll look in to this in my spare time! BUPetey (talk) 19:29, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a fellow Hoosier, but I went to that big school down 37 a bit. Many fond memories of Hinkle and the state tourney back in the day however. John from Idegon (talk) 23:08, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2015–16 Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TBS. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Didn't want to be rude[edit]

BUPetey, hope you didn't think my reverts were rude. Just stopped by to say that the standard is to usually wait until an official announcement is made. "Sources" reporting isn't very reliable. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 22:57, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

All good my man. BUPetey (talk) 23:03, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks... and I'm still going to disagree and have reverted. It's just a competition between the media to get it out there that he's the new HC. Butler themselves have yet to say anything which is what we're needing right now. Once they've confirmed it by releasing a press release, then let's add it... Thanks[edit]

Thanks for catching and fixing my mistake on the List of Major League Baseball franchise postseason droughts article. Massive brain fart on my end.
