That building looks the same as the one here in Cambridge Bay. Have you seen anything similar in other communities? Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 11:00, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi CambridgeBay, thanks for contributing many pictures to the Nunavut articles. Unfortunately, the only pictures I have are of Igloolik and Iqaluit. I am from Los Angeles, California and spent a week in Igloolik as a vacation at the end of June this year. I imagine the Nunavut government made all of the community signs at once to save money. Maybe if I get enough frequent flyer points I'll visit another town up North as I don't think I can afford another $2500+ airfare :) My videos are unhosted yet but all the photos I took in Igloolik can be found at my Picasa catalog here: http://picasaweb.google.com/kevinmking . Note that there are some pictures of animal skins and corpses still as I have yet to separate them into a different directory BaShildy (talk) 12:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really only have Cambridge and Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories with very little from anyplace else. Nice pictures. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 14:12, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Arctic[edit]

Hello BaShildy,

I saw your message on my talk page offering advice on travel in the Canadian Arctic. How did you get my username? I saw the photos of your trip in the message above (which are great), so I truly trust you. Where should we start on the information? I'm traveling to Yellowknife, NT for three weeks in December.

By the way, are you releated in any way to CambridgeBayWeather? Also, are you of the Inuit/Nunavut race (they REALLY know how to keep warm and stuff)? What were you doing up in Nunavut (I'm curious)?

Take Care,

(Rallybrendan2006 (talk) 18:37, 25 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

BaShildy is nonsensical, and is used so that I have a unique username that is always available on any website. Its way too long of a story for such a simple thing :) Well Yellowknife is the capital of the NWT so it should have a significant infrastructure compared to most of Nunavut. I would recommend packing a wide variety of clothing, sunblock, bugspray, and sunglasses! I'm not really familiar with NWT so unfortuantely I am not the best person to answer questions, sorry! :( I am not an Inuk ( singular form of Inuit ), I am a white American. Inuit have almost the same tolerance to cold, but simply have lived their lives around it. The things that I have learned from them is that Seal Meat definitely has some type of warming properties to it, and certain skins keep their heat better than others like Caribou. I have been very interested about Nunavut since its creation and finally decided to visit it this year. If you are interested about my trip I am still updating a thread on SomethingAwful here: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2908480 Oh and I'm not related to Cambridge. I am a new Wikipedia contributor and since Cambridge and I share a similar interest in Nunavut we have talked back and forth on updating articles!BaShildy (talk) 09:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks for the tips and information. Sorry it took so long for me to reply; I was expecting the reply on my talk page, not having it posted here. Anyways, good luck to you on Wikipedia and in real life!

Hello, BaShildy! I have JUST gotten back on Wikipedia after a few months and I just wanted to tell you that I was ACTUALLY able to visit Yellowknife, NT over Christmas vacation and I LOVED IT! The Canadian North is an AMAZING place and I enjoyed ALL THREE WEEKS THERE! I will have photos, soon, if you are interested. Thank you for ALL of your advice and suggestions for me last summer, as I REALLY appreciate it. Thanks again!

Talk pages[edit]

Just to let you know that it's common practise to put new comments at the bottom of pages rather than the top. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 04:09, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Luck[edit]

Did you mean the last edit. Looks fine to me. Of course if a source could be found then it could be included. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 13:22, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It can be very difficult to follow. One way round that is to use something like User talk:Jennavecia uses "If you leave a message here, I'll reply here. If I've left you a message, you can reply there or here. If you chose to reply here, I will respond here." I've seen that on several pages and it does work to keep the conversation together but either way is fine. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 23:09, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will reply shortly, thanks! BaShildy (talk) 20:14, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the Barnstar! I didn't know they were lucky. There's still plenty to edit on the Luck page :) Captwheeler (talk) 00:13, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Evolution[edit]

OK, I think I understood all that stuff that you said, though you might want to make your terminology a little more easy to understand...I'm not a college professor you know...
Since you're a Christian (did I really say Christmas??!), then you know that all that crap about evolution and stuff just isn't true! I personally am totally for letting people know all the theories about everything, but I do object when evolution is said to be true...it really burns me up. And I appreciate your suggesting that I go to the administration board with this. I know that there are lots of people on Wikipedia who are Christians and even other people who aren't that agree with me on this. Perhaps we might even win this debate. Thanks again for personally commenting on my post. Later, --Watchout4snakes! (talk) 18:08, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Game COI[edit]

I think in this case it would be OK to edit the entry. It's a plain fact correction and not promoting the game. At the same time it would be a good idea to leave a short note on the talk page as well. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 04:14, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
