Early years[edit]

Born Godfred Minta Sarpong in a city of Mampong, Ghana, is the second of four children, from the marriage of Samuel Ofei Sarpong. and Mary Darko Sarpong. His father, was a air conditioner mechanic, who became a committed Christian from the intercessory prayers of his son. The mother was health care assistant at the Korle Bu Hospital.

As a Sunday school child, Godfred will buy biscuits to the church and eat thinking it was scriptural to eat bread in the house of God till one day he was caught and corrected by his teacher.

Personal life[edit]

Graduating from high school in a little town in Accra, Godfred gave his life to Christ when he joined the Anointed Family. He began dawn broadcasting, preaching on the bus and holding mini crusades with the Anointed Family. Godfred’s call to the ministry was such a timely one when the Anointed Family of the Anglican Church, Korle Gonno, Accra was undergoing persecution.

In 2004, on the eve of his 17th birthday, Godfred chose to go out and pray as his spiritual father – Rev. Ebenezer Labor-Quaye had taught him. As he was praying, he saw an Angel of the Lord in the form a man dressed in white robe who entered into him. To his mates, it was not an angel but Godfred believed it was as that was the second appearing he had witnessed. He said as i was praying and moving to and fro, suddenly i saw an angel and i knew it was! then i opened my hands to hug the angel, though i was terrified and shaking.
