My apologies. Thanks for letting me know though. ataricom (talk) 01:50, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Your input is requested

As you have recently edited Andy Martin (American politician), I am writing to request your input at the article talk page, sections Vexed and disputed are the ones which outline the current issue. Many thanks in advance for your time. KillerChihuahua?!?Advice 21:32, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for notifying me... I had a look and I think I'm going to leave that one alone. Maybe it's worth posting a notice at the village pump or something. Burpelson AFB (talk) 23:24, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm following the standard practice of soliciting input from the recent, or regular, contributors of an article. If insufficient feedback is obtained, an Rfc is probably the next step, but it appears that won't be necessary. Thanks for taking a look - and of course if you change your mind your input is welcome! KillerChihuahua?!?Advice 14:28, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

I like your username.

Slightly obscure references to awesome movies are A-OK in my book. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to see if I can get some quarters out of this Coca-Cola machine so I can make a phone call. Hellbus (talk) 03:18, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Quarters? - Quarters? Hellbus you are too young. When Dr S was made phone calls - and bottles of Coke from a vending machine only cost a dime. The Coke machine wouldn't even take a quarter (though the pay phone would AND it would give you 15 cents back). Sorry to intrude on your talk page "B AFB". I like your user name too and I wanted to leave a little old fogie info for you both. Cheers and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 01:09, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

The article Jash has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

the article makes no sense

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Khaled Khalil (talk) 08:38, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations!

Thank you SO very much for all of your good work on new-page patrol. I've granted you rollback rights, so that you can revert multiple instances of vandalism from a single user with a single keystroke. This project needs a LOT more editors like you. PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:59, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Glad to do it. You certainly earned it. PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:15, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I removed the A7 tag, and as by my edit summary, I was thinking of that, but if the olympic appearance and winning a star search are true, probably enough to not qualify for A7. CTJF83 chat 02:52, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Ok that is fine. Burpelson AFB (talk) 02:56, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

A Question

I was hoping you might know, where should Ancestry information for a town's population go? I am thinking about a subsection under Demographics, but am unsure and the person I was working with has gone offline. - NeutralHomerTalk • 03:29, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Guess you must be away. No worries. I am working on it with another user. Take Care and Have a Good Night...NeutralHomerTalk • 03:46, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion Converted to PROD: List of long and short celebrity marriages

Hello Burpelson AFB, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have changed a page you tagged (List of long and short celebrity marriages) from being tagged for speedy deletion to being tagged for proposed deletion. The speedy deletion criteria are very narrow to protect the encyclopedia, and do not fit the page in question. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! decltype (talk) 06:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Ok. When I added the tag it was pretty much a giant wall of text that made no sense to me but maybe the author cleaned it up making that tag invalid. Burpelson AFB (talk) 21:44, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

deletion of New England Orienteering Club article

Hi, I'm the author and new to authoring articles in Wikipedia, so sorry if I'm violating any rules or conventions.

We (the New England Orienteering Club) created this article as a way to link the reference to our club in the larger article on the United States Orienteering Federation to our website. We really don't need a specific article on the club itself, but the way I read the instructions, this was the proper way to link to a site.

That said, orienteering is a small sport in the US, so at 400 members, NEOC is one of the largest and oldest clubs.(we are probably 3rd or 4th largest?). 400 may not sound like much to you, but is pretty big for US orienteering. DVOA and CSU were accepted subjects of articles - DVOA is the oldest, largest club in the US but only has ~800 memebers. CSU is much much smaller than NEOC (maybe 20-30 orienteering members?) and it's article was accepted also.

Please let us know what changes woudl bee needed to make this an acceptable articel or if ther eis another way to link the referecne to NECO in the USOF articel to our website.

Thanks,

Jasonjtong (talk) 22:32, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Jason Tong NEOC

  • I second the opinion that 400 members in orienteering is no small change. If the number is verifiable, which is not the case (no independent confirmation of membership) so I'm afraid this AFD will end in fire and brimstone. P.S. Burpelson, thanks for the tip! /* Project-builder.org */

Hello,

You have deleted an entry for project-builder.org I made in 2 lists List_of_build_automation_software and Package_management_system.

I think that even if I'm involve in this GPL project, it deserves to be mentioned on these pages as well as all the other tools which are already mentioned as it enter in these categories. In particular, I made one of these addition, 4 monthes ago, before trying to create a dedicated page fof the project itself.

I think it's not self promotion, but information of what exists (the project also has a freshmeat page, an ohloh reference, ...) since 2007 (I didn't try to create a page before the project is 3 years old and shows some usefulness and stability).

I try to provide references to show that it was mentioned during major European Open Source events, as well as on CPAN, ...

I understand that I may not be the best to be completely neutral wrt the prject, but I tried to make a clear and technical presentation of features, not promoting anything. Let me know what could sound promotional and I'll remove it.

I think maybe you just meant to put a {{hab}} on the bottom rather than a {{hat}}? --jpgordon::==( o ) 05:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Why, thank you!

Can't say I didn't try. That was only my third attempt in more than three years.  :) Many thanks for the kind Barnstar. I need to pass out more of these things myself. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:52, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that she is referring to a variation on the recall code of OPE. You are probably aware of this but tributes to this code show up in Raising Arizona and Magnolia. Sorry for jumping in Gwen but I thought I would post this if you don't return. MarnetteD | Talk 00:08, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Yep, she "splained" it to me on her talk page. POE (Purity of Essence) or rather OPE was the recall code in Dr. Strangelove. I can't believe I missed it! Burpelson AFB (talk) 00:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Automated tools?

Just wondering if you're using automated tools to leave warnings? I noticed this [1], which is a warning on an accounts talk page, but for some reason the Shared IP notice dropped in? Burpelson AFB (talk) 00:59, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Nop, I don't use tools. That message was a mistake. TbhotchTalk C. 01:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello

I was kind of quick on the trigger here. I was going to undo my reversion when I saw you had previously reverted the same. I just wanted you to know it's not my habit to butt in on talk pages of other editors. Excuse the intrusion. Tiderolls 01:09, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Stubs

Ah, okay, thank you. The reason I thought I would "get away" with creating stubs is pages like this one... ...does have slightly more content I'll agree, but no sources for example. Well, thank you anyway, I'll do that next time :)--Newbiepedian 08:57, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Joshua Wilwohl

Hello Burpelson AFB. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Joshua Wilwohl, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. GedUK  20:11, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thank you for letting me know. I've sent that one and a related article to AfD. Burpelson AFB (talk) 23:21, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
