Rather Important Motto Shop Thing

You forgot something major in the motto you came up with for mono. You needed a → at the beginning, to show where it came from, like in MotD quotes. Hi, Belugaboy. In a July/August 2010 policy discussion (at Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not/Archive 34#Does WP:NOTMYSPACE apply to secret pages?), community consensus was that the policy Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not prohibits secret pages. Belugaboy, Do NOT for one second listen to what Cunard has just told you to do, that user has been demanding users all over wikipedia delete their "secret" pages, whilst I do not have an opinion on secret pages nor do I have a secret page, I do not and will not stand for one user walking around demanding people CSD tag their own pages without firm policy on the matter, A discussion on a talk page is NOT policy. If Cunard has a problem with my comment I suggest he visit my talk page and demand I delete some of my user pages. Regards ZooPro 04:25, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
I asked Belugaboy to tag his page for deletion because it violates Wikipedia policy. The discussion linked to above was a request for comment listed at WP:CENT. It affirmed that the addition of WP:UP#GAMES (which includes secret pages) to Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not was correct. It also affirmed that secret pages "create an inappropriate ethos" at Wikipedia. Cunard (talk) 04:53, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
You are very incorrect if you think it violates policy, the policy does not list it as a violation instead lists it as "frowned upon". That is not a ban on "secret" pages (which are not secret and are easy enough to find) and you are misleading people into thinking this. Regardless of what "ethos" secret pages create I am sure the project and users in general have far more to be concerned with then starting a war on secret pages. ZooPro 08:16, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

WP Basketball

I've tried to get some interviewees for your WP Basketball article, but I keep getting responses claiming that the project is not very active. Here are some replies other editors left on my talk page, including some suggestions:

To be honest, I think Wikipedia's basketball coverage is generally pretty awful, so I don't know if I'm the person you're looking for. :) Although I've made thousands of edits to basketball articles, my efforts over the last couple years mainly consist of reverting vandalism or cleaning up other messes. I have reverted your edits to Adam Dunn because the deal is not complete. Dunn will not join the White Sox until a deal is finalized, which includes his passing a physical. WikiProject Geology

Hi Belugaboy,

It seems that nobody from WP Geology has replied to your request, so here goes.

The project was started by User:John Carter on 17 April 2007. Of the first 20 to sign up, the following are still quite or very active in this part of Wikipedia: User:Tillman, User:Hike395, User:Mav, User:Vsmith, myself User:Mikenorton, User:AstroHurricane001 and User:Graeme Bartlett. Of the more recent participants, User:Chris.urs-o, User:Awickert, User:Rygel, M.C., User:Wilson44691, User:DuncanHill, User:Smith609 and User:RockMagnetist are amongst the more regular contributors.

The project currently has 22 FA pages listed at Category:FA-Class Geology articles and 34 GA pages listed at Category:GA-Class Geology articles.

Re: India project on Signpost

Hi Belugaboy, I will participate in the interview for the India project. Please give me some time to add the responses. I joined Wikipedia in November 2005. I had started the WikiProject India page in July 2006, but the India project was preceded by the Noticeboard for India-related topics that was started in December 2004 by User:Improv. User:Nichalp, User:Sundar, User:Pamri, User:Arunram, User:Gurubrahma (and others) were the original team that started work on India-related articles. I felt there was a need to setup a project page and organize the article assessment and task forces under it (got the idea from looking at WikiProject Australia).

I don't think there is a project coordinator at this time. I feel it lacks the leadership of yesteryears. The difference between now and then is that there is lot more activity happening offline now. And that's a good thing for growth. I hope it will turn out to benefit Wikipedia in the long run.

Deleted entry

Dear Belugaboy,

I was notified that you deleted my entry on the Serif WebPlus X5 page.

The page has all positive information about a product produced and sold by Serif. In effect it is "free" advertisement. The page is not telling complete and true information.

I purchased the product and then found out about the information posted on Wikipedia that was not as posted (use of the word false would be accurate). This was information I wrote and asked about BEFORE purchase of the product.

I made a post telling my opinion of what was advertised (yes advertised on your site) incorrect. My post was not an attack, it was simply telling about what the product feature and function required of the used.

You accept false advertisement but delete true comments about that advertisement. What I wrote was verifiable and Serif did refund my money when they were confronted with the false information. What they wrote is not verifiable, why don't you delete their false information? You are editing based on your opinion, or are you paid by the advertisers?

What is Wikipedia, a large advertisement posting board for use by a company, or is it a place for us (the people of the world) to LEARN about things in our world - Hopefully to learn TRUE information?

Just a quick observation. I noticed that some of your reverts you made weren't blatant vandalism. The edits you reverted (such as this one) aren't vandalism, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be reverted. When you are dealing with edits that appear to be good faith, just inappropriate, you might consider unchecking the "warn offending editor" box on the STiki revert pannel, as it sends the user this message. Warning Me Re: Jim Morrissey

Hi! You just posted a warning on my talk page about my reversion of an IP's edit on Jim Morrissey. It may help if I explain the rationale for my reversion: It was an unsourced addition of information regarding the sexuality of Morrissey's son from an anonymous IP contributor(which can be considered as potentially dubious), it puts the emphasis that Morrisey's son "IS gay" which is completely unneccessary, and finally how does the (possible) sexuality of Morrissey's son and the acceptance of the son's sexuality at school have any importance to an article about the boy's father? Two things, Belugaboy: first, WP:DTTR. Second, it's plainly obvious that Goldblooded simply reverted the wrong IP edit - this IP added the line in question, not Goldblooded.
