your edits to Talk:Joan of Arc[edit]

Perhaps you didn't realize it, but you recently edited over another user's comments on an aticle talk page. It is considered bad form and inappropriate to overwrite others' comments. Please add your comments below the last, or below the comments you wish to respond to. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony 16:28, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A note concerning standards and expectations: Please do not remove messages from your talk page. Talk pages exist as a record of communication, and in any case, comments are available through the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted comments. Thanks. Once again, note that you can archive your page. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony 16:56, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I only removed it because, to be honest, I don't want the first thing that anyone sees on my talk page to be a frivilous accusation of vandalism. I've been contributing, on a minor level, to wikipedia for four months. I havn't made a single edit which could be considered vandalism in any sense until then, as you might note by viewing my contributions. Even then, accidentally overwriting a comment on a talk page- I'm really sorry for it, okay? But it's not vandalism. Whatever happened to assuming good faith? I've apologized both to the user in question on the relevant talk page- and to you. Yet you're here jumping up and down on my talk page with vandalism warning templates?
I'm not saying that I didn't do anything wrong- I've evidently done so on two occasions. However, one occasion was a clear accident, which you helped me rectify, and the other was out of ignorance. Please, take a step back, and don't be so quick to accuse people of vandalism and maybe be a little less confrontational in your advice. Thanks, Barnas 17:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Point taken. On controversial articles, and on tense talk pages, it is common for your erroneous action to be used deliberately by editors who are not fully familiar with, or agreeable to, the community standards. I've modified my original comment, and I'm also going to add what should have been the very first item on your talk page - a welcome mesasge! Sorry for any ill intent; I know what it's like to have one's head bitten off. - CobaltBlueTony 17:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's alright. I understand that vandalism is a problem, and has to be dealt with. Sorry again for my mis-edit. And thanks for the welcome! Barnas 17:25, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you've got a point about the {{current-sports}} tag in this article. The football season will go on until November, so I guess it's a little spread out to be a current event? —C.Fred (talk) 00:11, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I was thinking- if it just being the season for the sport an athlete takes part in merits the tag, every athlete would have it on their page for most of the time- and some would never loose it. I think it was put in for the suspension drama, and not taken out again. Barnas 00:21, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox Alignment[edit]

I had the same problem with my userboxes. They just don't align very well.

Reason[edit]

They don't all have the same height.

Solution 1[edit]

Put all the tallest userboxes at the end of each row, i.e. put the taller boxes as every third box in the Edit screen. You'll still end up with spaces here and there, but it looks better.

Solution 2[edit]

Use a table. Still has spaces.

Solution 3 (What I did)[edit]

Use this:

{{Userboxtop|Category Heading}} {{User:your userboxes here}} {{Userboxbottom}}

You can see an example of what this looks like at my user page.Leon math 21:31, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
