Reversions of edits to non-G1 races in Major wins[edit]

Hi, thanks for all the edits on racing articles, it's great to have people updating race results and jockey / trainer. I thought I'd best explain about my reversions of additions of non-G1 wins in "Major wins" sections. We've established a standard here where "Major wins" only includes current Group 1 or Grade 1 wins. I'm not entirely happy with it myself, particularly in jump racing where we all know that some non-G1 wins are very much major races and I did start a discussion here about it Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Horse racing#Definition of Major Wins. The problem is that including obviously major races like the Grand National or Irish National then breaks the criteria - if the National comes in a British Grade 3 race then it could open up other Grade 3s which are certainly not "major". At the moment it's a problem without a solution, so if you have any ideas, please suggest. All the best, --Bcp67 (talk) 19:42, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
