Your Skin[edit]

Bart,

Your skin is awesome. I'm using it right now!! One comment. ON my browser (IE 7) it appears to create almost a full blank page below the header:

Jump to: Navigation, Search

It does this on just about every page I've looked at so far. Is this a known way that this skin renders pages ? Thanks ! KoshVorlon ".. We are ALL Kosh..." 16:23, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, sorry for the late reaction. There are some rendering bugs in IE yeah, but I haven't had time to look at them yet. Also some boxes and images that are right aligned on the page suddenly move down the page. I'll try to see if I can fix it when I have time, but IE bug hunting can be a tiresome job :p Bart v M (talk)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Howie Day - Australia.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Howie Day - Australia.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:21, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How should I install it? Simply get into monobook CSS overwrite with yours? After that go into MonoBook.php and and the include of your .js script? --217.129.224.220 22:33, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Helloo!?!?!?!??!!?!?! --217.129.224.220 (talk) 14:52, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can choose the skin "MySkin" in your preferences menu. Then you can go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:yourusername/myskin.css (and the same for myskin.js) and paste the code there. Bart v M (talk)

Thanks mate you just saved my life =) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.129.225.14 (talk) 12:43, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

but, that way my wiki users wouldn't be able to use. How do I add this files in order to make a default skin for my wiki? --217.129.225.14 (talk) 12:46, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I did everything you said but I see the skin all messed up :X I'm using firefox but I tested it with all browsers! I added the myskin.css and myskin.js to my user page in wikipedia, then went to the preferences menu and choosed myskin, after that I cleaned my browsers cache and the skin was all messed up. --Origin22 (talk) 13:02, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

default skin?[edit]

your skin is awesome, but it's not released professionally like the other skins and doesn't seem to have any documentation to go along with it. 221.143.3.106 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 05:57, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Helllooo?!?!?!?!?!? How do I make this my wiki default skin? --Origin22 (talk) 12:39, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First log as Admin user, then Edit the CSS page http://www.yoursite.com/wiki/index.php/MediaWiki:Common.css adding the context of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bart_v_M/myskin.css to it. Edit the JavaScript page http://www.yoursite.com/wiki/index.php/MediaWiki:Common.js adding the context of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bart_v_M/myskin.js to it. Finally edit your /etc/mediawiki/LocalSettings.php and change the default skin to myskin:
$wgDefaultSkin = ‘myskin’;

IE[edit]

Bart,

This is the best mediawiki skin I have seen. I installed it. It gets perfect with Safari, FireFox, but with IE the icons get messed up and the edit page is a bit different. Do you have the same problem? Know how to solve this? Many Tks! {{helpme}}. Download the images[edit]

Hey Bart,

I would like to use your template, but I saw that the images are not hosted anymore at the free server ..

Could you upload a zip or something ?

Hagigat[edit]

Hi Bart, this is a just a note to let you know I've nominated that hagigat is deleted as a redirect to mephedrone because sources state that it is/was a different drug to mephedrone. I'll get round to writing a proper article about it at some point hopefully, but if you want to, there are some sources in my to do list which you could use. Cheers.
