Disability sport

Hi, Basement12

We have both set forth our opinions on the lack of parity between Olympic and Paralympic athletes in recent AfD cases. With the Rio Olympics and Paralympics approaching, do you think it would be a good time to give both sets of competitors equal footing for notability for Wikipedia articles. Hi FruitMonkey, I agree wholeheartedly. As you've seen me say when WP:NOLYMPICS was originally drafted the intention was to treat Olympians and Paralympians equally. I don't believe this was out of a sense that it would be unfair/discriminatory/etc. if they weren't (as much as I'd be happy to make such an argument it wouldn't really wash with the general idea of notability as determined by the Wikipedia powers that be) but because with the increasing global media coverage of the Paralympics it seems reasonable to assume that any competitor would recive a decent amount of coverage. That's really the key here, the opening paragraph of WP:ATHLETE says it nicely "If the article does meet the criteria set forth below, then it is likely that sufficient sources exist to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article". Trying to get this agreed before the Rio games is a good idea, in pushing through the change I don't think there should be much opposition, it is only a minor rewording of the guidelines. I'd suggest beginning a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Notability (sports) would be a good way to start and also notifying WT:OLYMPICS and WT:PARALYMPICS for any thoughts that the projects may have. Disrespecting and sabotaging other users' edits, including yours

Hi Basement12. I have to tell you something seriously about my experience with WikiProject Olympics. I’m contributing to Wikipedia for four years, quite longer than him, and I never did vandalism of any kind. I have worked so hard to revamp most of the NOC pages from the previous editions of the Olympic Games, especially when adding the tables and putting some styles on them. And a user named Sportsfan 1234 did nothing but to sabotage the edits that most people have done over the years and he's trying to let them down by constantly reverting them addictively. Sometimes, we have to correct them so that these won't happen for future edits. He doesn't even understand about his intention to follow Canada's style layout that most of us made to other NOCs, especially on Aruba, Paraguay, and now he included most of the NOC articles that I fondly created in which he breaks consistency to the standard format. Isn't geographically fair for him to let everyone to edit and help out build the pages with respect? Hasn't he studied and read the pages that we edited from the previous editions? trying to prove us wrong? To be honest, he's using his own pride to ditch and discriminate other user's edits. Neither one of us, but Sportsfan 1234 administered the WP:OLYMOSNAT page, and he has no right to judge what others have been edited, especially on the styling and arrangement of tables.Raymarcbadz (talk) 03:34, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

As I said to the user in question the two of you need to remember that you are working towards the same goal. Sometimes your ideas are better, sometime their's. Sometimes the way we have the MOS set up remains the best option, sometimes there are ways that it can be improved. It is a collaborative project and reverting edits without explanation, templating each other, taking ownership and edits with this kind of aggressive tone aren't helpful however frustrated you get. If the two of you can't get along I sadly suspect it will end up in use of the banhammer right at a time when these articles will need the most attention - Basement12 (T.C) 10:00, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi EdChem, I've run my eyes over the article, unfortunately I think I've probably forgotten more organic chemistry than I'd care to remember forgetting, but I've done some general copy editing and tidied up the text in a few places. I've never been part of a chemistry related article going through the GA process but one general comment I'd have is that the large number of images don't really display well (at least on my screen); it may take some fiddling to make it look better but I would guess that making them all right aligned or having them centered after blocks of text would improve things (i.e. none on the right despite what any rules may say). Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Bobsleigh at the 1998 Winter Olympics

A tag has been placed on Template:Bobsleigh at the 1998 Winter Olympics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
