Image copyright problem with Image:Dtsad1968.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtsad1968.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.

Love the rail map, but...[edit]

I love the DFW rail map -- I'll be commenting on it shortly at dallasmetropolis.com! Just two issues:

  • Where did you get the new line color designations? I haven't seen anyplace that suggests a "Blue Line NW" or a purple color for the SE segment. There has been a discussion already (see the DART article's Talk page) about DART's latest naming scheme -- specifically, that all information in Wikipedia should be verifiable by outside sources, and not include original research. The changes discussed on the Talk page are barely verifiable, with the only source being the map from the latest edition of DART's newsletter. I can't find anything to reflect the changes you describe, though I'll be sure to post a note to dallasmetropolis.com with the latest "scoop". However, without a source, I'll have to revert the line colors (in the text) back to their previous values.
  • A more minor quibble: Amtrak does not serve the T&P station in Fort Worth. Although it's the historic intercity terminal, Amtrak now serves the Intermodal center (or ITC), where there is also a city bus transit hub. The T&P station, ironically, serves primarily car-based passengers -- it's got a park-and-ride.

Again, thanks for the great map! I hope you'll join us in discussing transit issues at dallasmetropolis.com. --Robertb-dc 19:03, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Reply copied from my talk page -- go ahead and reply here, I'm watching your talk page)
I'm glad you liked the map, and thanks for the correction re the T&P. Now that I think about it, I've caught the Eagle to Austin and back many a time, always from the ITC, of course, yet I have no idea why I put the T&P on the map as the FW Amtrak terminal. Weird. I'll redraw the map to suit reality.
It's entirely possible I have the colors wrong. The sources I used for them are listed in the lower right corner of the map, but they don't really agree and to be honest I'm no longer sure which lines are what colors myself. As a daily TRE commuter, I hope the TRE remains the Green Line (in fact, they ought to just name it the Green Line; as a name for a train line, "TRE" is weak. Maybe NCTCOG can prevail upon them to change it.) In any case, if you'll supply me with the latest version of the many colors of the DART rainbow I'll be hapy to change the map to match.
Also, if you and your friends will keep me up to date on the latest news, I'll generate updated map versions in the future reflecting the future growth of our regional rail net. I want this map to be complete and correct so that folks can get some real use out of it. (Speaking of completeness, I was tempted to put the Tarantula Railroad and the Runaway Mine Train on there, but settled for the SkyLink 8 as a consolation prize.)
Of course the biggie will be when TXDOT tells us where the link to the TTC-35 high-speed rail line will be! -- Bchan 00:41, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply! If you're going to be reworking the map anyway, here are some additional quibbles:
  • DART has a new routing for the line through Irving, available here. There is also a lot more detail about the stop locations at the NW/DFW Corridor page page. Unfortunately, they keep showing the old northern routing on their less obscure links.
  • The southern segment of the Red Line is missing Tyler/Vernon Station, between Dallas Zoo and Hampton.
  • The rail segment between West End Station and Victory Station is currently in operation. Selected Red and Blue Line trains serve the station, though it will be part of the SE/NW line when it's built out. Details here.
Minor problems, really -- the map is great. Although there's no accounting for taste sometimes -- somebody took the map off the article! I reverted their edit, and gave them a good finger-wagging on the article's Talk page. Meanwhile, when I get a chance, I'll change the line colors back to the last confirmed values. --Robertb-dc 21:35, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am currently in the process of revising and correcting the System Map. SM V2.0 will be posted in a day or two. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Bchan 18:50, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • No "inconvenience" at all -- rail fans like myself should be giving you a standing ovation! By the way, the DART employee who first supplied the scoop changed the line colors back to the new official colors, and provided links and other verification in this dallasmetropolis.com thread. --23:15, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
  • System Map V2,0 is up on the DART page. Sorry for the delay. Please inform me of any errors you might find. -- Bchan 02:32, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your rail map has the LBJ/Central station listed in two places. The northern one should be Gatalyn Park.63.241.207.195 16:21, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Now that the Orange Line (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) plans have been finalized by DART board, it is time for the map to be edited again. The station names and locations are announced and they don't match this map. This time, could you please include both the graphic and source file (Illustrator?) for the map so others could maintain it if desired? Spectre9 (talk) 17:22, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nitpick.[edit]

Just a little nitpick: you don't have to sign (~~~~) your changes in the change comments. For one thing, it's redundant -- your changes are already noted with your userid and date/time when you look at the page's History. For another, it doesn't work -- it just shows up as tildes. Picky, picky, picky, sorry. Your content rocks. --Robertb-dc 21:44, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Artemis/LSAM[edit]

Just to let you know, NASA has not officially announced anything yet. The website you cited for the name "Artemis" is just speculating. These things can, and do change - the CEV supposedly going to be named "Alitair", but then an official announcement was made that it was to be called "Orion". The same could happen here. I think we should just wait and see. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 11:57, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dtslogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtslogo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:17, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
