Disambiguation link notification for March 10

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 5th Canadian Screen Awards, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Frontier (TV series) and James Duthie. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Recovery of Deleted Content

Hi, I recently created the article Dominick Sokotoff and it was deleted. I was hoping that I could get the deleted material for further improvement. Thanks! Penger888 (talk) 21:36, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Luka Magnotta

Luka Magnotta (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Good day to you,

I wonder if the article Luka Magnotta could be unprotected?

I would like to make several edits; there are a bunch of dead links, at least 1 wikilink to add, and things that could be clarified.

Please let me know; if it can't be so, I'll formulate a semi-prot edit request instead.

Best regards, 86.20.193.222 (talk) 16:46, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

William Duke (Artist) listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect William Duke (Artist). Since you had some involvement with the William Duke (Artist) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 19:00, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Canadian Screen Awards & Abraham Ulrikab

Thank you for your comment about the change to the Canadian Screen Awards. I don't mind the correction you made, but I just wanted to let you know that "Based on Abraham's Diary" is part of the full film title, it is not something I added simply for the purpose of linking to Abraham's page. Here is the link where you'll see the film's poster. Also, if you watch the episode on The Nature of Things website (that's the version of the film which was nominated), at 1:06, the full title appears. I'm realizing now that "Ulrikab" was not included in the title of the English version of the film, but it's there in the French version. Thank you!

Never put categories on the user's talk page

Hi Bearcat, this is an urgent message, User:Jcsathibault has made a article on the user's talk page at User talk:Jcsathibault. The talk page is not an article. Could you go to User talk:Jcsathibault's talk page and remove all categories in the user's talk page. The talk page is not articles. Could you do that? Thanks. 207.102.255.230 (talk) 21:08, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

What is the issue with making my page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jcsathibault (talkcontribs) 21:20, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Thank you!

Hi Bearcat! I saw that you recently contributed to the article I created, Lorenzo Doryon and wanted to thank you!! You were absolutely right in adding the categories American singers, American pop singers, Male singers, and American male singers. Lorenzo is a very talented singer and I didn't even think to add those categories. I encourage you if you haven't already to visit his website http://www.lorenzodoryon.com and listen to his music. I noticed you most enjoy indie rock so although his music might not be exactly your taste, I'm sure you can appreciate his talent. Lorenzo is also a model and even has a fan base of over 420,000 fans on instagram. Unfortunately, the article we both contributed to is up for AfD. I would greatly appreciate your support for a KEEP on that page if you believe it deserves one. I would also love to hear your feedback on how else I can improve that article. Also, if you can point me in the direction of another article that needs some help, I would love to branch out and start focusing on more articles. Thank you very much and your potential support is much appreciated!! MusicSource17 (talk) 01:33, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

Wyndham Paul Wise

I'm in contact with him on his user talk page. It doesn't seem like he's ever accessed any help on how to edit and create articles, and he could be of enormous benefit to Canadian film articles if he understands how to use the tools. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:56, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Music Supervisors

Hi Bearcat! I just drafted another article on Randall Poster, maybe one of the most recognised music supervisors in the world, and it has been suggested for deletion as well. The WP:CREATIVE criteria for this very specific profession needs to take in consideration the fact that music supervisors work for directors and/or brands, and they are often behind the scenes. In both cases, having worked with Wes Anderson, Emir Kusturica, Jim Jarmusch, getting coverage/being directly or indirectly cited in publications like Vanity Fair, Vice, The Guardian or Rolling Stone, and being nominated to relevant professional honours as the Grammy's or the Music Week Synch Awards makes them notable in their field. Music Supervisors - part 2

Thanks for your quick reply! I totally get your point and my aim here is to contribute to a field which is very relevant for people working in the music, film and advertisement industries. I sincerely believe that these two music supervisors, among others, desserve a page. I'm just trying to understand why - in both cases - the sources I've used are not being considered "reliable". Someone that have been trusted by Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmusch or Emir Kusturica to supervise their soundtracks is already a notable person in the music supervision field. And if they have been credited - themselves or their companies - and cited by Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, Vice, Dazed & Confused, etc - which technically are primary sources - and had nominations it makes them, on paper, eligible. I've refined the coverage for both articles and made sure to avoid any copy/paste - re-phrasing the description included in their websites. Take this example in the same field: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Kramer How would you judge the references? As a long-time user (and fan) of wikipedia, I'm new into the editing side of it, but always enjoyed finding information on very specific topics and appreciated that people took the time to compile and edit the information for me. Looking forward to learn more and help. Thanks for your time. x Theautomator2017 (talk) 01:03, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Nomination of Nightstream for deletion

This is a courtesy message to notify you that the article Nightstream is being considered for deletion. All editors, including you, are welcome to discuss this at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nightstream until a consensus is reached. The nomination and discussion are expected to focus on the quality of evidence and the policies and guidelines which are of concern. Please be aware that there are a number of arguments to avoid in a deletion discussion.

Users are encouraged to edit the article during the discussion, particularly in ways that address the concerns raised in that discussion. However, please do not attempt to remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article— doing so may be considered an act of bad faith and will not halt the deletion process. Thank you! Jen Cohn marked for Deletion

Hey Bearcat! The wiki page on Jen Cohn is marked for deletion and after doing some additional work on it, i was wondering if you could link me to the discussion thread about its possible deletion. Thanks again — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justkyledavid (talkcontribs) 14:32, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of page

Hi Bearcat.

Unfortunately, I wasn't online for a while and I see one of my pages was deleted - Michael Bach (business man) from the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion. I was too late to participate in the discussion and the page was queued for deletion. I tried to edit it to make it more appropriate (I'm really new to all of this) but it was still deleted it. I've read through other articles about CEOs (like Darren Entwistle from TELUS for example) and I'm not sure what I did wrong. I had actually just started working on it and was using Mr. Entwistle's as my template. Any suggestions? Appreciate any guidance you can provide.

And I have to ask why you would think there would be a conflict. Just because I'm a diversity and inclusion champion doesn't mean I have a conflict. I'm just a lover of all things D&I, and a big fan of the work of Mr. Bach and the CCDI. D&ILover (talk) 23:18, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

List of Canadian films

Hi. I don't know if you have a watch on List of Canadian films but I see that Wyndham Wise has removed a great deal of content -- references (to works other than himself, I'm guessing) but also bona fide content, seemingly at random. For example cutting that The Street got an Oscar nod, but leaving in that it was recognized by the defunct and only marginally notable AV Trust. Anyway, I've raised this on his talk page. I will probably be rolling all his work back on that list -- I'm awaiting his reply. My little project with Mr. Wise doesn't seem to be working out. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 13:12, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi. I've spoken to Shawn, and will re-do the List page and put back stuff that I already put in. So I guess I did something right 2 years ago. Do you know anyone in the Toronto area that could help me create a Wikipage properly? Shawn is justifiably frustrated. I do need someone to sit down beside me to learn this stuff. Let me know. Thank you.Wyndham Paul Wise (talk) 16:40, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
    • Wyndham, as I'd mentioned, please start talk page comments on a new line: and place an asterisk * at the beginning to create a new bullet point. I don't know about finding a personal Wikipedia tutor in Toronto... there's a wealth of online tutorials at Help:Getting started. Have you ever tried them? I suspect not. Nader Nadernejad

Hi. I am trying to create an article for this subject, but it is administrator protected. Would you be able to give me the opportunity to create the article and list valid sources? I would appreciate suggestions as a new contributor. Windernet48 —Preceding undated comment added 21:33, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Any developments on your sock puppet allegations? May we please have this issue resolved or at least discussed in a diplomatic fashion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Windernet48 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Robert Carr (activist)

Hello, I am responding to the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Carr (activist) page that you initiated. I think it's important to recognize that widely regarded activists like Dr. Carr (as seen by his remembrances), who are coming from developing countries like Trinidad and Jamaica where there is little to no social, political, legal, etc. mobilization/support/dialogue on HIV/AIDS and gender identity issues, are not going to have the same size editorial trail as their American and European counterparts. He is in a unique position because he appears to be a pioneer, of sorts, for the Caribbean region, in a relatively recent global movement that is still ongoing. I think the fact that he is cited/referenced by the publications and organizations that he is, satisfies the notability requirement. I've found the following secondary sources pertaining to Dr. Carr (a few of which you mentioned): °Hon. Barbara Lee in United States House of Representatives (here) °The Atlantic (here) °The Robert Carr Doctrine (here) °amfAR (here) °UNAIDS (here) °[World] (here) °The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (here) °LA Times (here) °ICASO (here) °Human Rights Watch (here) °Pan American Health Organization (here) °UNAIDS Caribbean (here) °The Jamaica Observer (here) °Metropolitan Community Churches (here) °Stabroek News - (here) Channyloulou (talk) 23:30, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Channylolou

  • Just read your message. Very helpful. Thank you! Please let me know your reaction to the links that I listed in regard to removing the deletion recommendation. Thanks!Channyloulou (talk) 23:50, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Channyloulou

MfD opinions

Hi there Bearcat, I hope I am not breaking any guidelines etc in posting this but I was just wondering if I could get your opinion on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Spiderman II:Spidey Strikes Back (1978), Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:HD-BNC connector, and/or Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:CNU? If not that's fine.
