Request reason:

This block seems like a personal attack, as all i was trying to do was educate the audience on who Brendan Byrne is as an Actor. There is no promotional material included. Simply FACTS! The article was from an objective manner and in similar fashion to ALL OTHER ACTOR ARTICLE's ON WIKIPEDIA. Please remove this block, as once again i see this as a personal attack, and others will too.

Accept reason:

Accepted on conditions to refrain from edits associated to Brendan Byrne, have new articles reviewed in draft form by AfC, and carefully follow NPOV. Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:15, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Brendan Byrne, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GMGtalk 12:38, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Information icon Hello, Beej 01. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Beej 01, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Shadow Wolves Productions have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Money emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 15:21, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

March 2020[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Brendan Byrne (Australian Actor). When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Deletion discussion about Shadow Wolves Productions[edit]

Hello, Beej 01

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MrClog and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Shadow Wolves Productions, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shadow Wolves Productions.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MrClog}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

March 2020[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:15, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have fixed your unblock request, as the nowiki tags you used would have prevented it from showing up in the unblock queue. However, there was a substantial amount of problem with promotional language. who lives by the motto "It takes a certain degree of obsession to succeed" (inappropriate "get to know ya" tone), He is best know [sic] for playing ("best known" by whom, according to what source?), Byrne has been featured in a variety of publications including...and many more ("and many more" is weasel wording), and the rest follows very similarly. Wikipedia articles must be neutral in both tone and content, and not promote anyone or anything, including by "talking up". Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:39, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Seraphimblade thank you for letting me know where you saw errors, however in future would it not be best to educate people on where they have gone wrong and how to correct the error instead of just deleting articles as the first option.

No. Advertisements are deleted, and those who repeatedly post them despite that are blocked. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:58, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Seraphimblade Okay, then. Well about as a gesture of good faith, you revoke the block, as i am new here, and i will take that as a learning curve.

I am willing to unblock you, provided you agree to make no more edits related to Byrne, to start new articles as a draft and have them reviewed by articles for creation, and to ensure you review and understand our policies on neutrality and promotion prior to making further edits. Are you willing to agree to that? Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:01, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Seraphimblade Yeah, sure. Happy to oblige.

Hello Beej 01. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to Shadow Wolves Productions, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Beej 01. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Beej 01|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrClog (talk) 01:10, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MrClog I am not directly or indirectly getting any such compensation for these articles. I am simply trying to educate the public on some local production company's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beej 01 (talkcontribs) 05:11, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But at Wikimedia Commons you claimed to own the copyright over the Shadow Wolves Productions logo, which suggest you either own the company or that you work for the company, meaning you have a financial stake in the topic. --MrClog (talk) 10:07, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article The Life of Baldrick (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No reliable, independent references cited, and I can't find any.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your draft article, Draft:Beej 01[edit]

Hello, Beej 01. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Beej 01".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! —Nnadigoodluck🇳🇬 01:23, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
