Response from Olcoispeau's Talk Page[edit]

Hello Bemis, the removal of a section without documentation is unfortunately vandalism, so it is appreciated that you do not do it again without discussing an alternative fully referenced content. I am always grateful for better contributions in the best interest of the whole wiki community. The work of Tolkien is rich and complex, so it is normal that from time to time people have different opinions on his sources of inspiration. Let's keep on simple documented facts to avoid a quasi "philosophical" debate on this. I am looking forward to reading an alternative version. Thanks, Olivier Olcoispeau (talk) 08:34, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated on your talk page, I wrote my reasons for the deletion on the Steppe Route Talk page. It was not vandalism, it was a misunderstanding. Please read/respond to that. I agree that Tolkien's work is rich and complex; it is also well-documented, extensively researched, and widely written about. Given that, I don't think the source you used regarding the connection to the Scythians is strong enough to make a definitive statement. And I also think it should be removed until the end of our discussion to avoid the possibility of spreading false or misleading information, which is why I initially removed it.
