Spam in Shopit[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Shopit, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Shopit is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Shopit, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. You had asked about how to write an article about Shopit that would meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. The current version includes a few sources attempting to demonstrate the notability of the site, which is good. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to include any actual text beyond quotes from those sources. (That's why it was flagged for deletion - one of our automatic systems noticed that the text was all copyrighted material from other places.) You need to write some actual text of your own to describe the site, using your external sources only as support. It'd probably also be a good idea to provide more than just two sources for backup, especially since one of the ones you're using now is a brief mention in a blog. The newspapers on Google News are often a good place to start searching. Best of luck. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 22:38, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
