April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. 2003 LN6 16:04, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

thank you do much, I was wondering how to do that BenSmiththeGreat (talk) 16:04, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

what is this?

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 18:36, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I will admit that I am "RainbowBambi," but I created this account because I found that my little sister had created that account falsely on my computer. I saw that she had been doing some very inappropriate trolling and vandalism, and also saw that she had been blocked. I created this account because I wanted to be able to edit Wikipedia, and since no one would let me explain this on my sister's account because I was blocked, I had to do this. I now understand that I should have went to the Admin Noticeboards, but I thought that the Admins would not believe me due to the seriousness of my sister's edits. Please understand that me and my sister are total opposites, and I am nothing like her. Please give me a second chance and a fresh start. Thanks,

I am being completely honest with you[edit]

I understand your weariness due to the severity of my sister's edits and if I truly am a troll, I would use that excuse, but I am being completely sincere. Please understand my situation, and out of the kindness of your heart, give me a second chance. BenSmiththeGreat (talk) 18:51, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: In no way could it reasonably be claimed that this reversion of constructive gf editing was "fighting vandalism." 31.50.193.158 (talk) 19:50, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong venue. Go discuss it on the talk page of the article. The 🏎 Corvette 🏍 ZR1(The Garage) 20:38, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@User:The Corvette ZR1: FYI, I was commenting on the the user's key claim above (i.e. on *this* user's talk page), that they were "fighting vandalism" - an implausible claim which has involved me dsirectly as a gf editor. That is not a content issue, and comment on the article talk page would have been completely inappropriate. By contyrast, I felt it might conceivably be helpful to highlight the claim here. 86.180.70.28 (talk) 09:40, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Please, I understand that my sister's actions were wrong, and I have changed my login passcode, but I also understand that as Wikipedia Admins, you must assume good faith. Please, I vow to never make a vandalous edit, and to this point, look at my previous edits. All previous edits have been legitimate and I have actually received 2 thanks from other editors. Please give me a second chance. BenSmiththeGreat (talk) 18:59, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Assume good faith does not mean that we must ignore our common sense and trust you blindly. Once trust is destroyed, it is very hard to get back. I'm also confused, you seem to be saying(if I believe you) that your sister had access to this account, but that's not what you said earlier. If your sister had access to this account, it will need to remain blocked as WP:COMPROMISED since we no longer know who we are communicating with. 331dot (talk) 20:17, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Security Measures[edit]

Request reason:

Good morning, first of all I am sorry that I am continuing to request block appeals, it is the only way I know of to communicate with you. On the matter of WP:Compromised, I have enacted certain security measures such as changing my computer lock code, changing passcodes, and enabling a security question. I have now done everything in my power to prevent further security breaches. Now on the matter of trust, I, like I have said before, have not made any inappropriate or bad-faith edits. I have only been a helpful, albeit possibly misguided, editor. I am also aware of something on Wikipedia called the "Fresh Start." While I understand that a user must not have any current bans to have a "Fresh Start," I also understand that it says a user may make a "Fresh Start" to distance themselves from "past mistakes." This is what I am attempting to do. Can you please give me the one chance I need? Thanks, BenSmiththeGreat (talk) 12:13, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is basically the same unblock request as RainbowBambi ("I want to fight vandalism, so please give me a second chance"), which is unsurprising because you're confirmed to that account. The number of unblock requests is now rising to over 100 because people keep making unconvincing requests. Therefor, I've revoked your ability to make more of them. If you have something other to say than "my little sister did it", you can make an unblock request via UTRS. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:38, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How do we know that you are not your sister who seized control of this account, changed the password, and is pretending to be you? Fresh start does not apply to you as you are blocked. 331dot (talk) 12:42, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What must I do to prove this to you? Again, I can assure you this is me. At the very least, if you must ban me, give it a time limit.

Stop hand
Your ability to edit this talk page has been revoked as an administrator has identified your talk page edits as inappropriate and/or disruptive.

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.

Sockpuppetry Investigation[edit]

Good morning, May I please see the evidence that was used against me in my Sockpuppetry case? Thanks, BenSmiththeGreat (talk) 14:30, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
