You have new message/s Hello. You have a new message at Nasty Housecat's talk page.

Greetings Benny![edit]

I have reverted the edits which you made to this article, because they were not referenced or cited, in addition to not appearing to be edits which are helping advance the quality of this article. If you feel this is in error, please consider opening a discussion on the article's talk page. Best of luck! LonelyBeacon (talk) 03:36, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your improvements to the Benet Academy article. All very nicely footnoted! I have altered some of them which is not unusual in Wikipedia! I thought the history was definitely an improvement and left your structure pretty much as it was. Let me know if you have any questions, or check with LonelyBeacon, or leave a message in the discussion. Thanks! Student7 (talk) 18:47, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AP and advanced courses[edit]

Heya Benny!

My two bits ... I noticed that you took out the AP and other advanced courses. I would caution you about this ... speaking strictly as someone in education, the presence of courses like these is generally (not always) a good measuring stick as to how good a school's academic programs are. You may choose not to list every AP class, but I might mention how man there are, and provide a reference to them. I wouldn't take out the math classes, as those are just not generally offered at many high schools anywhere ... they are pretty rare. This is simply advice, and nothing more ... Happy Thanksgiving if I don't talk to you before that. LonelyBeacon (talk) 00:39, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

re: Benet, and some thanks[edit]

Benny, The article is really coming along ... I was just over to take a look because you had left me a note some time ago, and I kept meaning to follow up ... I made two changes: I took out a sentence about the freshman soccer team. In general, underclass teams are not mentioned in articles ... if you want to talk about it we can talk. I also took the alum photos, and moved them into a gallery. The photos are great, but because the Diablo Cody photo was really big compared to the other, it made that section of the article look a bit choppy. Feel free to revert if you want, but I thought you might not have ever seen this display before, and thought I would show it to you and let you check it out. It can be added to as more photos become available (check out Wheaton Warrenville South High School to see how this could look with a bigger photo set).

And ... thanks for the barnstar ... it was quite thoughtful and completely unnecessary ... though it is appreciated. Keep going .... the article is almost unrecognizable compared to what it looked like before you got there. LonelyBeacon (talk) 01:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just a detail note: typically, citations are put at the end of the sentence, after the period ... I am not sure if there is an exception to that. You can check out WP:CITE for more details. The article continues to improve. LonelyBeacon (talk) 04:04, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HEYYYYYYYYYYY![edit]

The Schools Barnstar
I award this barnstar for work on the Benet Academy article, taking it from "start" all the way to "B" status with little experience and a whole lot of hard work and diligent attention to referencing and detail. LonelyBeacon (talk) 23:35, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Benet Academy GA Nomination[edit]

Hi. I will be reviewing the nomination. I will do a quick review today and post any initial comments but may take a few days to work through it more carefully. Please check the review page for comments and feel free to drop by my talk page with questions. Nasty Housecat (talk) 21:46, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have made a lot of improvements in response to the GA and I think it is looking very good now. In an effort to be helpful, I have jumped in and made some minor edits that seem easier just to do than to explain. You can look at the diffs in the article history. Feel free to revert anything that unintentionally alters the meaning of the text or to ask me questions about my changes.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. Benny the mascot (talk) 01:13, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've made one full pass of copyedits, all minor, which you should feel free to undo if they change anything important. Other than that, I think the review is complete. I see you have been adding new content and references. If you want to finish with that first, let me know when you are done and I can make one more quick scan before closing the review. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 16:08, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded on the review page. Benny the mascot (talk) 16:33, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Benet Academy you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Benet Academy for eventual comments about the article. Well done! --Nasty Housecat (talk) 17:20, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When you have a minute[edit]

Hey Benny,

If all of your comments on the nomination are satisfied, can you go back and strike them out? (Like Finetooth has done.) That's they way they like to cross off stuff on the checklist at FAC. Not a big deal. When you have a chance. Thanks. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 21:16, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benet Academy PR[edit]

I will be glad to look at it, but it will take me several days. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:19, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Benny. Ruhrfisch is doing the peer review now. When he is done, I will add some comments. I did not touch it because it would not have hit the PR backlog that way, which usually guarantees someone will look at it. Since I did the GA, it is better to have someone else comment first. I did not forget. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 21:08, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good thinking...thank you so much!!! Benny the mascot (talk) 21:35, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And thanks for the congrats on the ACS FA. Made me smile. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 16:56, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GAN[edit]

Good job for your first attempt. It's good to see you used the checklist as it can be helpful for the nominator to have an understanding of what needs to be fixed. The article was definitely prematurely nominated, and should not be passed at this time. I would recommend pointing the nominator to several similar topic articles that have already passed GA so they can have a better idea of how to further improve the article. --Happy editing! Appreciation[edit]

Hello Benny the mascot,
I am very pleased that you have spent some time reviewing the article 'Vietnam Airlines'. I appreciate for all of your comments and I am trying my best to improve the article. For your comment about Facebook, I can't find any other websites that list all the destinations of airlines, and Facebook is the best one I've come across so far. Also, could you please tell me some reliable sources which I can use? If you want some of the information on Vietnam Airlines, please visit my User page, because I have been collecting a range of websites that I think are useful. Once again, I would like to say that I sincerely appreciate your effort.
Thanks a lot Sp33dyphil 05:06, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do[edit]

Hello Benny the mascot,
I do have a lot of newspapers archives-they're all available on Google Archives. Sp33dyphil 20:20, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please expect a lot of change to the article Vietnam Airlines during the next two weeks because it'll be the holidays in Victoria, Australia. Sp33dyphil 07:49, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trade favors[edit]

Hi Benny,

I know I owe you a peer review on Benet Academy, and have some thoughts for you. I wonder if you would do me a favor in return. I am thinking about taking School for Creative and Performing Arts for a run at FAC. It's a long way from ready I want to do some more work before I go to peer review again, but I wonder if you could take a look and make some suggestions. I know it needs a good re-write on prose, but I'm kind of stuck on where to go with it content wise. A fresh set of eyes would be nice. So if you have a chance, maybe you can take a look? Feel free to be frank. You won't hurt my feelings. Cool to see you are working on GA reviews, by the way. I think that's awesome and the project really needs more hands there. Thanks. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 05:39, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please review the article 'Vietnam Airlines'[edit]

Hello, I have just editted the article Vietnam Airlines, could you please have a look and give me some feedbacks and recommendations. Thanks Sp33dyphil 01:13, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you move the aviation portal template to the external links section when the page belongs to Wikipedia? Sp33dyphil 21:42, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, I've completed your requests regarding the article Vietnam Airlines - getting rid of Facebook citations, as well as expanding sections. I have also changed everything citation into those using templates eg. {{Cite web}}. Before I can go any further, could you please give the page User:Sp33dyphil/My sandbox a thorough read and drop some comments at Wikipedia:Peer review/Vietnam Airlines/archive1? Cheers :) Sp33dyphil talk 03:24, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Make someone's day[edit]

If you are looking for something to do besides wait for comments on your FAC, Royal College for the Blind is at FAC. It is his second time through, and it got archived last time for lack of comments. I plan to comment a bit later, but if you are in the mood to comment on another FAC, it would not be out of line to ask him -- neutrally of course -- to take a look at yours. I am sure you will have some good comments. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 17:56, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto Garden City High School (Kansas). Also second FAC. FWIW. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 18:07, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benet Academy FAC[edit]

I will be glad to take a look at it, but it will take me a few days. Thanks for the heads up, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:14, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I commented on the FAC page. Is the Benet mascot named Benny, by chance? ;-) Ruhrfisch ><>°° 18:24, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nice user page - I am watching the FAC so when you respond there I will see it and reply within the day. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:07, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benny, I made a few suggestions for improvement a week ago, and you haven't addressed them yet. Have you forgotten about them? Cunard (talk) 03:59, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Benny,

I noticed the image comment on the Benet FAC. There is a cleaner logo you can use at this site. The one you have is pretty rough. You probably don't have time to get it converted to an SVG for this FAC, but it you have to renominate it, that would be a good idea, too. Good luck. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 22:44, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping me out with this! Benny the mascot (talk) 02:22, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You did well ...[edit]

Even though Benet got archived, you did really well. So don't be discouraged. You got three supports. My first FAC attempt was archived in four days with no supports at all. And I thought you handled the objections really well. Personally, I found flunking FAC to be a great learning experience (if not a very pleasant one). The main thing is you have brought the article a long, long way from GA and the FAC process has made it even better. It seems like with a bit more work on the prose you would have a great shot at another FAC. Maybe some of the opposes would be willing to help?

Your image, File:Benet Academy - St. Joseph Hall.JPG, was nominated on Wikipedia:Valued picture candidates, gained a consensus of support, and has been promoted. If you would like to nominate an image, please do so at Wikipedia:Valued picture candidates. Thank you for your contribution! Spongie555 (talk) 04:16, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have not seen you around for a few months now so I assume you are on an extended (I hope not permanent!) wikibreak. I reread Benet Academy and I think it is very close to FA after the last FAC. With some minor list formatting and copy polishing I think it would be very well prepared. If you are interested, I am willing to work with you on it. I am also willing to do it myself if you are not up for another nomination. You are by far the major contributor to this article so I want to ask you first. If I don't hear back from you, I'll assume you are off the grid or uninterested. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 17:12, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hey![edit]

Hi Benny the mascot! Don't worry, we haven't met yet, but I'm sure that we've bumped into each other a few times at Benet. Yup, I'm an alum...from the Class of 2010 actually, and I'm honored to see that you've decided to use one of my articles as a source in the Benet article! I even took the initiative to add new pictures to the category you created on Commons! One of them is now on the article, in addition to a few additional notable alumni entries I gathered from the Alumni Herald. I imagine that you simply don't have a copy of this magazine, because the article is otherwise a very comprehensive overview of our school. Congrats on (almost) single-handedly getting it to GA!

Now you're probably wondering why I've decided to contact you. You see, when I had to write down 100 goals for myself in Mr. Kazlauskas's senior religion class last year, one of them was to write an FA here on Wikipedia. Basically I thought I could take a crack at bringing Benet's article up to FA. But as I looked through it's page history, GAN, PRs, and FAC, I realized that you, as the primary contributor, are in the best position to bring it up to FA standards. You know your sources best, you have more resources than I do, and you definitely know everything there is to know about Benet more than any other contributor on Wikipedia.

I think you should come back, not only because your presence is pivotal in getting the Benet article to FA, but also because I know that you're watching Wikipedia happenings and want to come back. Wikipedia is just that addictive! And if you're worried about the administration, then realize that there is nothing to worry about. Benet is probably just concerned that they really have no power over what the Wikipedia article says, even though they have their own website and Facebook page to spread their own propaganda. Although you kinda butted heads with Mrs. Brown on wiki, I don't see any reason why that would have to happen again either. Everything that is presented on the article is backed up by reliable sources, and that's what matters. Believe it or not, Benet still respects free expression, albeit not as much as public schools. After all, the Gadfly is still in publication, right? (Which reminds me...I still need to write an article for that!) :)

Nasty Housecat says that he is willing to help you; I suggest that you accept it. As for me, I'm moving in to college this Sunday, which means that I'll probably be too busy to help you get this article up to FA standards. But I'll watch from time to time, and what I can do is give my own suggestions on what you should be doing. I'll be reviewing the article over the next few days, and I'll post some comments on the talk page. I look forward to your response!

Cheers! Edge3 (talk) 17:09, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benet Academy FAC Pending[edit]

Hi. Edge3 and I have been preparing Benet Academy for another run a FAC in a week or so. Since you have been the main contributor, our intent is to list you as a conominator, unless you object. If you are still checking in, let us hear from you. We would like to have your help. --Nasty Housecat (talk) 01:37, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey![edit]

Hey bud... just letting you know that Nasty Housecat already put up an FAC nomination for the Benet article. I'm sure you'll be pleased by the progress we've made... working on an article about my alma mater has definitely been quite a rewarding experience (as I'm sure it was for you), and I'd just like to thank you for doing all the work to get us started. :)

PS: You have a picture of a golden retriever on your user page... and your username is "Benny"... clever! ;) Edge3 (talk) 23:36, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
