Speedy deletion nomination of Satcam Boolell[edit]

Hello BerwickKent,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Satcam Boolell for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Notice

The article Dr Maurice Curé has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. buidhe 19:03, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your improvements to Mauritian election articles. However, I noticed some of the text you added at 1948 Mauritian general election was copied and pasted from the paper you used as a source, which is a copyright violation. You need to rewrite any material you add in your own words, also avoiding close paraphrasing. Cheers, Number 57 09:44, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Elections in Mauritius, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Independence Party (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:55, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop marking all your edits as "minor" when they do not meet the criteria[edit]

Information icon Hi BerwickKent! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia — it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Emilienne Rochecouste[edit]

Please stop blindly reverting on this article, as you are reintroducing grammatical errors.

There shouldn't be any "misleading information" in it, as I simply reorganised what you wrote. The change in layout was not an improvement in my opinion, hence restoring the original layout.

Editors are expected to follow the WP:Bold, revert, discuss cycle. If an edit of yours is undone in whole or in part, you are expected to start a discussion on the talk page and gain consensus for your changes, not start an edit war.

If there is misleading information in the article, either correct that particular sentence, or raise the issue on the talk page. Thanks, Number 57 11:16, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation[edit]

Hello. You have uploaded File:Emilienne Rochecouste.jpg with the claim that the photo is your own work. I noticed you have uploaded several other photos of politicians with the same claim. This is a clear violation of copyright. Please stop uploading images unless you actually took the photo yourself. Number 57 20:06, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Direct, reliable sources needed for Days of the Year pages[edit]

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct reliable sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 23:12, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Mahatma Gandhi Institute (Mauritius), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Corruption in Mauritius[edit]

Hello.

Please note that below paragraph in the article titled Corruption in Mauritius (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_in_Mauritius) is untrue and unsubstantiated. Please remove it.

"Tommy Ah-Teck received 19.7 arpents at Albion Beach for the construction of a brand new hotel through his company Insignia Leisure Resorts Ltd. Ah-Teck's company Gamma renovated and extended the house owned by Nandanee Oogarah-Soornack, the girlfriend of ex-Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam. Another of Ah-Teck's company (Lottotech) was granted its gambling-house permit by Navin Ramgoolam. Ah Teck's group of companies Gamma has made donations in excess of Rs18.5 Millions to political parties between 2010 and 2014 when Labour Party was in power." 102.118.202.250 (talk) 19:40, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

You have to be careful - this edit describing my removal of a category as "vandalism" is strongly suggestive of a lack of WP:GOODFAITH. It's not vandalism, it's merely applying standard Wikipedia rules. One is that categories are based on articles, which implies that if a party is not WP:NOTABLE enough to have an article, then it should not have any categories derived from it. Another rule is that category names should not be based on disambiguation pages - there are many parties around the world called the Reform Party, not just in Mauritius. Accordingly Category:Reform Party politicians could refer to politicians from anywhere from Singapore to Iceland - it's not an appropriate name for a category. Unless there's an article for Reform Party (Mauritius) very soon, that the category can be renamed to match, then the category will have to be deleted.
