Thanks for the compliment on my user page. Feel free to 'borrow' from it if you like. — nathanrdotcom (TCW) 23:55, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

India Quiz Congratulations[edit]

Hey, well done on winning Round 2 of the India Quiz. I know it was a really tight contest and one question would have made the whole difference. Anyway, you are now entitled to use this template on your user page to signify that you won.

Re: Minicoy![edit]

I was fascinated too when I read it the first time on print! Glad that I could find an online reference for that. Start tormenting other quizzers, now. :-) Congrats on becoming the leader of that round. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 09:30, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welldone[edit]

Welldone for finding out that one—Bourne and Shepherd. It became really tough! Bye.--Dwaipayanc 11:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2004 in music[edit]

Why'd you revert my change on Phish? You changed it from 2004 to 2004. That makes no sense. Don't do it. BabuBhatt 08:05, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Newbie, thanks for the followup. Keep on truckin'. BabuBhatt 20:02, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I was hastily cruel in my 1st message. BabuBhatt 22:19, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

==Please Use Edit Summaries==

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Your edit restored the vandalism to this article; I'm guessing you intended to do what I'd already done. :) RadioKirk talk to me 17:57, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I happened to catch it when removing some link spam. Happy editing! RadioKirk talk to me 18:50, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In re 168.170.203.60[edit]

168.170.203.60 (talk · contribs · count) seems to be back to vandalism [1]. I see you have already warned him/her many times. I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Peace. gunslotsofguns 16:11, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to have been a single offence this time, but thanks for letting me know. If in the future you notice a repeat vandal back for more I recommend you look at WP:AIV and if appropriate post them there so they can be blocked. I'll be sure to watch out for 168.. causing trouble! |→ Spaully°τ 16:40, 27 April 2006 (GMT)

Quiz[edit]

Hey! Not seeing you much in India quiz! What happened?--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:14, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean California or Calcutta by "Cal" (your workplace) ? LoL. Global village!! Yeah, the last one by Hydkat is really tough. I guessed twice. See the page. No reply from Hydkat yet.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:49, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. We have not been much in touch. Where do you work in Kol? i am in Calcutta Medical College. For some reason, (I do not know exactly why) I thought you are from South India! Anyway, do you do quizing in Calcutta?--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:01, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Argus and Di are still around. Plus there is the telegraph open. I too have almost lost touch with real quizzing. Sometimes juniors at college ask to be a part of their teams. But cannot find time. Plus, lost the previous zeal of keeping in touch with newspapers, magazines etc. By the way, I could reply some of your questions rather easily because I found out the source! Prithviraj Kapoot, Naushad etc. You know what I mean. But should not disclose here. LoL. That's a really good source.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:13, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't know the quiz master. But the online repository is cool. I did not read the whole bank though. One question I really liked (India-related) is the first advertisement-campaign related one. really nice. However, your cracking the Minicoy was wonderful. It must have needed extreme effort.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:27, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See the answer, To you now.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:39, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi! Thanks.

Well, Interns (those who are doing the mandatoey 1 year rotation in hospital after passing the MBBS exams) and students have started movement. No strike is planned yet. Deputation etc. We are in contact with other Calcutta colleges, and also colleges Indiawide. We are waiting for next move by Arjun Singh (expected after 12th May). Then further plans. Its time medical colleges, IITs, IIMs, and general colleges move together.

You can contact me at mail. My id is contactdc@gmail.com. --Dwaipayan (talk) 17:52, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Could you please have a quick review of Darjeeling? Please give your suggestions in the article's talk page. This is for an internal review before moving to peer review. Thanks. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:59, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup. Thanks for the copyedits. Please continue. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:07, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I do not agree with the way you changed that Percy Brown citation. It's better be in Reference (the descriprion of the book in Harv Ref style). While, under the "notes" , it will remain as "Percy, 1917", like that. See Bangladesh for extensive use of this style. Regards. And please go on with your excelent copyedit.--Dwaipayan (talk) 08:26, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LoL. You were working on a past version! That's why in your edit, I saw that even before you changed something, that citation format was already changed. In fact, while writing you, I was thinking if I were falsely accusing you! Sorry. regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 08:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Community Justice Newsletter[edit]

Community Justice Newsletter

Welcome
Previously, various notices regarding Community Justice have gone out to our members; though this is the first actual newsletter. This issue will contain information regarding decisions made on the first meeting, our new council, and more...!

If you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Community Justice/Do Not Spam.

New Council
Following our first elections, a new council has been elected.Computerjoe and Ian13 remain as chairman and chief executive (respectively); while Eddieh, Wiki alf and Xchrisblackx are replaced as councillors by Ilyanep, Osbus and Covington. The Giant Puffin and Pureblade remain as councillors.
Member Conduct
In the last meeting, the conduct of 4 members were discussed. Ethnopunk will be put on probation, supervised by Ian13, if he/she is uncivil during this probation, he/she will be expelled from WP:CJ; the same was decided for Misza13 (voluntarily), and his probation will be supervised by Computerjoe. No action will be taken against Computerjoe.
Barnstar
The Civility Barnstar which our member's have designed has been sent to Barnstar and award proposals. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Also, we are planning to make a Community Justice barnstar to give to hard-working CJ members. If you're a budding designer, consider trying to make it, then post your proposal to WT:CJ!

Name and logo change
There has been no consensus reached regarding changing our name and/or logo neither at WT:CJ nor at WT:CJ/M/1. While suggestions are still welcome, no action will be taken at this time.
Programs
We are going to try to create programs to more actively involve our members. If you have any ideas, please drop a line at WT:CJ. We will try to work with WP:ESP on one of these programs, at some point in the future.
Thanks!
Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CJ or come into our IRC channel [2].

Computerjoe wishes to extend his thanks to User:Robchurch, a non-member who assisted in making {{tracker}} redundant, as well as Misza13 for his continued support and to the whole of this and the previous council.

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available[edit]

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:07, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Concordia newsletter[edit]

Concordia Newsletter

Community Justice is no more. It has been reformed to Concordia. Membership has been transferred.

Concordia is an organization of editors on Wikipedia that strive to encourage civility and fair treatment among all editors in the Wikipedian community, from the Wikignome to the Wikiholic. The project was designed to have a friendly and helpful environment to support any unfortunate Wikipedians that have become victims of incivility, hostility, or continual disrespect.

We currently need help in getting going, and making the community understand our aims. We work for civility. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you have ideas, let us know at our talk page, or on the IRC channel. We aim to spread civility in every way we can.

Should you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Concordia/Do Not Spam.

Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CCD or come into our IRC channel [3].

Where are you?...[edit]

WikiProject South Park[edit]

I have thought of creating a WikiProject for South Park since it is now near its' 10th anniversary and has more articles than ever. I feel we could all do the following things through this project:

  • Cleanup any short/poorly written/unformatted articles
  • Merge/lengthen the many character articles
  • Improve the South Park main page

I have seen your South Park fan template and wondered if you were interested in joining. If so reply to my talk page and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks, Mr. Garrison

Concordia Newsletter[edit]

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now![edit]

  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
  • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making[edit]

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Hello. You previously voted in the 2006 AfD for Suri Cruise. At the time, Suri was less than 10 days old, and the ultimate verdict was to turn the article into a redirect to her mother's page.

Since then, Suri has become much more notable in her own right as a toddler fashion icon, with over 13 million hits on google image search. After getting an administrator to lift the protection on the redirect, I recently restored the article as a stub, but an editor who believes that "6 year olds are not inherently notable" has again requested deletion.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate your making your opinion known at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suri Cruise (2nd nomination) Warren Dew (talk) 07:38, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
