The article Chital Mehta has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi, sorry no-one has responded yet. I don't think that article is going to be suitable for Wikipedia because I don't think it passes WP:AUTHOR. The way to save it would be to find reliable sources which talk about that author in depth.
It seems this {{help me}} system might not be monitored much, but I'm sure you will get a response at the WP:HELP DESK Siuenti (talk) 17:19, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Siuenti the help me requests are monitored but like everything else on Wikipedia, it's done by volunteers, so it may take time to address an issue. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:33, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
BestTanmayEver Please do not keep posting {{help me}} templates - someone will take a look as soon as they can. Wikipedia is run by volunteers and there are many users so it may take a few minutes or several hours to get to a help me request. As far as your article goes, it is being proposed for deletion as it has no sources. If you read through the proposed deletion template on the page, you will find several links that will guide you through what types of sources are required for Wikipedia articles. Please do not remove this template or notice until you have added reliable sources. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:25, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am so sorry to have used this "help me" thing again! But I just went to "wikipedia:sources" and that page said that I must have references to works of an author in the author's page. So should I now create pages for the author's novels??

BestTanmayEver (talk) 17:40, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

BestTanmayEver You do not need to continue using the help-me feature for this - you can just respond to me by placing {{ping|Chrissymad}} in your response. You do not need to create articles for her novels - you need to use references and inline citations in your existing article that support claims in the article. You also need to establish notability. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:43, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
BestTanmayEver I've moved your article into draft space (Draft:Chital Mehta) so you can continue to work on it without running the risk of more immediate deletion. Once you are ready to submit it for review, please follow the instructions on the template at the top of the page. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:46, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some more comments, which I hope may be helpful to you.
At present, you need to concentrate on providing sources to show the notability of the author. If and when you have done that you can consider whether creating articles about her individual novels is suitable, but I think it is very unlikely that they will be notable enough to be the subjects of articles if she isn't. You have said that there are sources about her, but you haven't said what or where they are, so nobody else can read them and see for himself or herself what they say. Can you tell us exactly what these sources are? If they are internet sources give links to them; if they are books or other paper sources then give titles, authors' names, publishers, etc. You say that she is "a noted public figure": if she is, then there must be significant sources about her, because she wouldn't be "noted" if numerous people hadn't written significant content about her. Can you tell us who has written about her, and where?
You are clearly having difficulty understanding how sourcing works, and finding it frustrating trying to get help. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start.
On the subject of use of "help me" tags, Chrissymad is quite right to ask you not to keep posting new ones while you have one already open, as it serves no useful purpose at all: editors who check the list of current help requests see just one link to this page whether you have got one help me tag or six of them, so your request won't be answered any quicker because you keep posting more and more of them. In fact, the only thing that having several help requests open at the same time is to create extra work for the editor who eventually responds to them, as he or she has to close all of them, instead of just one. However, I don't agree that you shouldn't post a new one if you have a new request for help after the old one has been answered, because a new "help me" may bring another editor who may be able to give different advice, whereas posting {{ping|......}} will not attract help from anyone other than the named editor. For example, if this time you had used {{ping|Chrissymad}} instead of {{help me}}, I would not have seen it and posted this advice. @JamesBWatson: I should've clarified I meant in their response to me - not for general help. Thank you for explaining it a bit more! CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 18:10, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
