Portal:Schools[edit]

Please respond to my question on the RFC about what you want out of the process. I am willing to discuss everything but allowing your group any active role in editing the Schools Portal, which has worked well and largely managed to stay separate from this dispute. I am not being unreasonable in requesting that you leave this space alone - it is an important resource which I do not wish to see become embroiled in a disagreement, but I unequivocably oppose any moves to change how Showcase articles are chosen. As I have said, I will give any suggestions a fair hearing - and I would be willing to hear arguments regarding adding St Michaels to the list, no matter my views on your group's edits to it - but refuse to allow it to become a voting process to assign showcase status. If you wish to have St Michaels recognised otherwise, consider the Featured Articles Candidates process or have the article referred to peer review. Please consider taking this route rather than starting another dispute.

Perhaps we could look to discuss further moves between ourselves on our talk pages, but if any anons or members of your group move in to pressure me in any way as has happened before I will stop this approach. I don't like stand-over tactics, but am willing to rationally debate ideas with you in a one-to-one manner, or in a civilised forum for ideas on a talk page. Thanks. Harro5 08:27, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry you are unwilling to have some sensible discussion on these matters. We'll see what happens with the RFC, but I refuse to allow you to muscle in on the Schools Portal, which is of too high quality to allow you to ruin it. I have over 4000 edits to Wikipedia, and have proven my worth by contributing to a huge range of articles and projects here, but know that you have only edited St Michaels realted articles or pages related to me. Maintaining a portal or similar position on Wikipedia is seen to be a role for a long-time contributor, so please try to constructively add to our project before calling me out as being against Wikipedia policies. To move past this injunction, the ball is in your court. Harro5 08:58, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFC on Harro and related matters[edit]

Hi, beyondcapricorn. I've just replied at some length to Harro on my Talk, and somewhat to you too at the same time, as you had posted a message to Harro there. Please take a look at the points I make, and respond if you like. Bishonen | talk 10:43, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your new approach[edit]

Good to see you and Comradeash contributing positively (case ini point some changes to Wesley). Hopefully this continues and you both become valued contributors to school and other articles on Wikipedia. Harro5 19:58, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Smgslogostack.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Smgslogostack.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:43, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Angelaaames.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Angelaaames.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 17:12, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Simonedtech.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Simonedtech.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:03, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox Australia school private has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. –Moondyne 07:33, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Infobox Australia school private requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:18, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please claim your upload(s): File:Smgsdd1.jpg[edit]

Hi, This image was seemingly uploaded prior to current image polices, Thank you.

However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Wikipedia is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm, that it was your own work, by marking it as {{own}}, amending the {{information}} added by a third party, and by changing the license to an appropriate "self" variant. This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transfered to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:21, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
