List of Current Bellator fighters

Yes I am keenly aware of how the Bellator organization operates (you may have noticed that I have created most of the articles related to Bellator and have been the principal editor for many). The problem with listing only the MMA record is that is a subjective indication of sorting a fighter and it biases the fighters who had the most MMA fights. Looking at the record of someone like Randy Couture may indicated that he is a marginal fighter only. However, if we list the Bellator record of the fighters in Bellator, it is easy to see their performance in the organization. Since Bellator does not sign its fighters to exclusive contracts, unlike Zuffa, I thought it might be a good idea to create a List of Bellator Fighters page. Unfortunately I do not have the time to undertake such a project.

As for the women's divisions, I still feel that it is best to go under the unified rules of MMA. As you pointed out there is currently no consistency on what to call the divisions. There was an argument regarding the Strikeforce titles on what to call them, as Strikeforce changed the division name three time before deciding on the current women's division names. Bellator as well has been inconsistent on what to call them and of course there is tremendous inconsistency in Japan. • Good call on Fabiano, I was really starting to wonder about him. As far as Cro Cop goes, Dana made similar comments about Liddell before giving him a last fight with Franklin, so until Mirko actually announces that he has retired, or Dana actually announces that he has been cut he'll stay on.Thaddeus Venture (talk) 22:25, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

• While I generally dislike quick speculation like this, this is one of the reasons that I started the "cuts table" so that these kinds of cuts can be made and disputed if necessary. These cuts make sense and are very likely, but the fighters are still in the UFC database, and are searchable. I think you should keep them for now, but be careful about deleting someone who's release hasn't been officially announced as the UFC often does weird things with fighter contracts and the like. Like I said this is why I started the table, so that such changes are visible and people aren't left asking "who was cut" and are able to say if they have information otherwise. Otherwise I greatly appreciate your work in updating these pages it's good to see someone else sharing the workload. I would generally appreciate it if you ran large changes through the talk page first for discussion rather than just making changes as I tend to mother over these sites a little (they are part of my resume and attempts to get a job doing some more concrete sports writing). Haha, no problem, I didn't mean to suggest that I was offended, just that I don't want to have to spend a bunch of time explaining to people why I took Faaloloto off and then had to put him back on. • Hmm... That's weird, my guess is more likely that they are updating their fighter archive to include a lot of older names that they had information on. They could be bringing these guys back for some sort of where are they now fight, or they may even have a fight left on their original contract or something. I remember Zane Frazier's name was on their roster for ever before their site overhaul. List of current MMA champions

• Yeah, I can also agree BAMMA isn't quite there yet. Too many unfilled belts and too few events, although they are quickly making a name for themselves in the MMA community. I thought it was time too add another organization to the list too, as Sengoku will likely be non-existant soon, with the company declaring that their main sponsor had cut ties with them and unless they find a new one to fill the gap will be folding the organization. (Also, with recent tragic events occuring in Japan and ecomomic conquenses that'll come with it, sounds unlikey a new sponsor will come to World Victory Road's aid). But the main reason I think it's time to have TPF up is because of the Flyweights, much like Valkyrie and the women's belts, TPF seems to have the most top level Flyweights all now in one place (Jussier Da Silva, Ulysses Gomez, Ian McCall, Darrell Montague, John Dodson, Alexis Villa, Mamoru Yamaguchi) and have a championship belt to show for it as well. 71.244.102.129 (talk) 18:11, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

• I took a look at the changes you made with women's and men's divisions as separate tables, and since all major organizations that have women's mma divisions seem to be calling them the same thing, I decided to keep your edits. I slapped together a bit of an intro which will probably need to be expanded and cited to thoroughly explain the seperation, but I generally agree that it adds clarity to the page and makes it feel more professional as a whole. • While I dislike the way the pages offset for the KOTC weightclasses I am not at all enthused at the idea of including them in the NSAC weight classes as that gives KOTC two champions in a couple of divisions and fails to adequately note the differences between them. This is one of the reasons I generally dislike KOTC as part of this article. List of current Bellator fighters

• Finally a part of all this that's as easy as it should be. To create the actual page itself just type in "List of current Bellator fighters" in Wiki-search. When it comes up as a non-existing page it will give you the option of creating the page. Say that you would like to, and when it gives you a blank page to work with just copy/paste all your scripts from the user version of your Bellator page to the official blank one, and tada, you will have created the official "List of current Bellator fighters" wikipedia page. Just make sure that "List" and "Bellator" are the only things capitalized. I'll let you decide if you want to throw an "FC" in there.Thaddeus Venture (talk) 16:00, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

I'll take another look at it, I'll look more into it tomorrow or Monday. I couldn't find anything that states that they signed him or at least are going to have him on the main card (which most often would add it to their online page within a week of the show) But I'll double check it.
