It was not my intention to Vandalize the page Hippopotamus on Wikipedia. I was trying to align the pictures, but it came out badly. --Bigbenboa 18:33, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bigbenboa, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to mark your edit as vandalism, I was just trying to quickly change the alignment. There's no penalty at all for what you did, don't worry about that! And I'm sorry that I wasn't more careful! I remember when I first joined Wikipedia I made a lot of mistakes. It takes some practice, but you get the hang of it fast, and once you know the ropes editing wikipedia can be lots of fun. Let me know if there's ever anything I can help with and I'm really sorry that I marked the edit as vandalism. --JayHenry 18:50, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Forumforcricket.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Forumforcricket.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:06, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I am the creator of the file. I'm trying to figure out how to add a free copyright symbol.

File copyright problem with File:Forumforcricket.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Forumforcricket.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 23:09, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - noticed that you'd added a section for 1973 to the "List of Finals" section of this article. There wasn't a final in 1973, the team at the top of the table after the round robin stage were declared winners, as a note in the introduction to the section states. Andrew nixon (talk) 16:24, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andrew, you are correct in that there wasn't an official Final in the 1973 Women's World Cup. However the England-Australia match was a de facto final both in terms of scheduling and impact much in the same way that the 1950 FIFA World Cup final match between Uruguay and Brazil was. Wikipedia designates this match as the Final. Clicking FINAL redirects the page to : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguay_v_Brazil_(1950_FIFA_World_Cup) ).

Bocce/Boules[edit]

Might be better to put most of that at Boules (the general game-class article), and highly compress the history material in Bocce or just remove it (beyond the emergence of bocce proper) and point to Boules for game-ancestral history; we don't need to recapitulate history stuff of related games, but rather centralize it and cross-reference. See, e.g. Cue sports#History (which eventually needs to be worked up into a separate article); we don't reiterate that stuff in Pool (cue sports), Snooker, Carom billiards, etc., other than as needed to summarize the emergence of the variation at hand (and we give even less info at specific games articles like eight-ball and straight pool and three-cushion billiards – the article equivalents of Bocce, but in cue sports, which ultimately have the same origin as boules and bocce). Or, from another perspective, the Boules article will be lacking, if the material on its history is tucked away in a corner at Bocce.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  23:27, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I opened discussion at Talk:Boules#Merge from Bocce#History; I guess it's more "procedural" to discussion on the merge-target's talk page.  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  23:31, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Pétanque to Bocce (your addition has since been removed). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:39, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

August 2021[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 15:15, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
