Re:The Simpsons lists

I agree that it's not the greatest system, but it does work. Using "character (actor)" might work for some of the drama series lists because the guest stars usually have a large role, but with The Simpsons, many of them just have small cameos that aren't major enough to note in a summary. An entire section might work, but I would prefer to keep them listed with the episode, simply because it is more useful. One solution might be a seperate column, but it would make things more crowded. Or, the top part of each section (which lists #, episode name, writer, director, etc.) could be split into two rows. This is less preferable because it would look less tidy (and make it harder to just look at the entries in one column). -- Scorpion0422 12:29, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

The thing with those samples is that they look very cluttered. Perhaps we could just try bolding the guest stars in the current version. -- Scorpion0422 15:46, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, I think that having lines isn't always a good thing, and having each section with three rows does make it look cluttered. -- Scorpion0422 17:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. I deleted File:Smallvilleseason8poster.jpg as G7 as you were the original uploader. Please remember to never substitute speedy templates as it causes unnecessary mess. You can add custom reasons using {{db|reason}} but you should rather use a correct criterion whenever possible. Regards SoWhy 13:24, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Buffy

Hey. No, I've not quit, just editing more over at Wikia lately. You've made me feel guilty now. :P
Season six was nothing but sex? That's kind of a gross over-simplication. How was there too much sex? I think the Spike/Buffy relationship is fascinating, far more mature and interesting than Buffy/Angel. What did you think of Willow's addiction storyline? I feel that's one of the only stories in the series where the writers really dropped the ball. Instead of having it so Willow was simply addicted to power (which would have fit more naturally with the character) they make it a literal "drug" addiction, with silly scenes of Willow going to dealers and getting off on "the rush". They pull it back for the last three episodes, but I feel that storyline kind of floundered in the middle of the season. Did you like the Dark Willow trilogy?
I love season seven but I actually feel that's one of the more flawed seasons. The cast becomes a little too crowded due to all the Potentials coming in, and some of the main characters lack for screentime. It's understandable, but annoying. Andrew's sexuality is an enigma; Joss deliberately made him gay because Tom Lenk is gay, but I don't think Andrew is even aware of it himself. Joss says "Andrew's sexuality is always on the cusp of self-awareness because Andrew is stunted emotionally and because it's hilarious" and "The character became very charming in his complete lack of awareness about, among other things, his own sexuality". There's a lot of fans who want Andrew to come out and get a boyfriend, but I feel that would be contrived and out-of-character, just so we can have a gay guy in the series. Can't say I've ever noticed the knife error, but there you go... :P  Paul  730 14:52, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
SMG felt they went too dark in the season, which upset her because she wanted Buffy to be a role model for young girls. I think she was particularly opposed to the scene in "Dead Things" where Spike shags Buffy from behind in the Bronze. Joss actually wanted to go darker, but Marti Noxon (often the voice of reason) convinced him that they had to bring their heroine back. Personally, I love the darkness in season six, although it can be difficult viewing at times, the characters come out of it all much stronger. I can't say I was ever opposed to the sexual tone. Lol, "OMWF" is everyone's favourite episode, or one of them. My favourite is actually the series finale, "Chosen".
The Willow story was handled perfectly at the start of the season, with her resurrecting Buffy and messing with Tara's memories. You could see her getting off on the power she had, and attacking anyone who questioned her power (the scene where Giles calls her an amateur). But when they introduced Rack, it became less about Willow's god complex and more about her next "fix", which was disappointing. Yeah, some of Dark Willow's dialogue was pretty cheesy. I wouldn't say it's out of character but it is a little cringe-worthy at times.
Andrew is noticably gay from the start; Warren implies it in his second(?) episode, saying "you know what homophobia really says about you?". Speaking of which, what do you make of Warren? He's one of my favourite villains in the series, I love how he's just this disgusting human and not some crazy demon.  Paul  730 15:38, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Lol, you're such a prude. The sex stuff never bothered me, I quite liked how the show grew up, from the more innocent and "kiddy" first season to the very mature later seasons. What bad messages do you think it sent? I think it's pretty clear that Buffy's behaviour is innappropiate, she says herself how digusted she is by how she treats Spike. Mind you, I did think it was funny when people complained about Buffy's lesbian tryst in the comics, saying that it was inappropiate for kids reading the series. I was like "did you see season six?"
I've overwatched "OMWF" to a ridiculous extent over the years. What were your favourite songs? I like them all but I have a soft spot for "Standing" by Giles. Andrew alternates between gay and straight behaviour all through the series, he's a total mystery. Warren is a brilliant villain, as you say, I love how he's introduced as a sympathetic character and kind of deteriorates into a murderer. He's almost similar to Faith, except he doesn't redeem himself. Did you know he's back in the comics, I've probably told you that before. Andrew is a fully-accepted member of the Scooby Gang now as well, they devoted an issue to him becoming part of "the family" which was really good (preview pages: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Andrew's definitely rivals with Anya as the funniest character in the series. Btw, what do you make of Kennedy? She's generally loathed by the fans, but I love her. Also, did you like Tara's arc in season six, given that you found her too passive in the earlier seasons?
Yeah, I saw that picture on OHMB earlier. He looks like Dr. Doom. I also heard that the whole "75% maskless" thing is a crock, but I guess we'll see. Isn't the trailer meant to come out today?  Paul  730 18:41, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
But Spike and Buffy's relationship is supposed to be unhealthy so it's not condoning anything. Buffy is ashamed of her behaviour, and the other characters are confused or disgusted by it. Yes, Buffy has high morals but she's also suffering from severe depression during that season and going through a very dark, self-abusive period of her life. You're not supposed to approve of what she's doing. This seems to about you liking your heroes to be whiter than white, which is something we've been clashing over for years now.
Yeah, I love "I'll Be Mrs." I take it you liked the episode "Selfless"? That's one of the best episodes in the whole series, it'd definitely make my top 10 list. We get a much stronger understanding of Anya's character, that single episode makes her so much more layered and three dimensional.
I love Kennedy because, after the repressed Oz and Tara, she's a partner for Willow who's feisty and outgoing which we hadn't seen before. She's also a kick-ass Slayer; there's a moment in the final episode where she runs into battle with no weapons and just kicks the living shit out of everyone. :D I like Tara in season six because it's the first time she's treated as an individual and not just "Willow's girlfriend", she really comes into her own and grows a backbone I think. Lol, Timothy Dalton... can't blame him though, Craig replaced Brosnan as my favourite Bond. :) I love Buffy and Andrew's geek-bonding, I was so surprised when I read that issue for the first time.
Well, I'm sure the trailer will be on YouTube or somewhere soon enough. I'm looking forward to it because I honestly don't know what to make of this film and want to get a solid idea of the tone/direction they're going in. Oh, and apparently the comics are nearly back in business so it's a good time to be a Halloween fan.  Paul  730 20:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
"Sefless" is "ok"? Wow, that's a really lukewarm reaction to one of the show's best episodes, especially from an Anya fan. I love the scene between Buffy and Xander where they argue over what to do with Anya, with Willow as the nuetral but empathetic observer. The episode is just brilliant, I love the juxtaposition of the light-hearted flashbacks to the dark present storyline. As for the Xander wedding storyline... I feel it was in-character. Throughout the early seasons, particularly season four, we see how damaged Xander is by his homelife. It seems natural that those issues would come back to haunt him. Ditto for Anya, she needed to pay some kind of price for her vengeance days. I love Xander and Anya, but it wasn't meant to be.
Hey, I have the same opinions as you about Bond, have we never discussed this? I hate Moore and think Connery is overrated. I don't mind Lazenby, it's been a while since I saw his movie. Brosnan used to be my favourite, but Craig just plays a deeper character.
The mutiny scene in "End of Days" is highly controversial with fans, who complain it was contrived and out-of-character. I disagree, I feel that the characters' actions were completely understandable given the circumstances (Xander just lost an eye and a bunch of girls were killed). My sympathies are with Buffy, but I don't blame the others for being angry with her.  Paul  730 21:12, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I find "Selfless" hugely entertaining; you've got Swedish flashbacks, a musical, an amazing swordfight, D'Hoffryn... not to mention Buffy trying to balance a cup of pencils on her head, I mean what more can you ask for in an episode? ;) I know what you mean about Xander and Anya, I was devastated by Anya's death because I wanted her and Xander to be together. I never had a problem with the non-wedding, because it allowed Anya's character to develop on her own, but her death really stung.
Here's a forum thread with people complaining about that scene if you're interested. I don't really agree with the opinions there, but it's obvious the scene ruffled a few feathers. Dawn... hmm, I partially put this down to Joyce/The First's manipulation in "Conversations with Dead People". She tells Dawn that "Buffy won't choose you" so that might be why Dawn mistrusts her later in the season. It's weird though, the last episode was rewritten a lot and that line was going to be more obviously followed up on (Dawn was going to be "chosen" despite Buffy's wishes and become a Slayer) so I don't know if that's how it was intended. Season seven has a couple of odd loose ends like that.  Paul  730 23:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I do prefer "mytharc" seasons to the monster of the week ones, but I think dismissing those episodes as "filler" is doing them an injustice. Maybe in the first couple of seasons, but in the later ones, even standalone episodes usually have some plot or character developments relevant to the overall season and it's themes. A lot of people are complaining that Season Eight is too episodic, which is kind of true, but the standalone stuff we're getting in the meantime still has a lot of good stuff in it so I'm not complaing too much (though, admittedly, I am hungry to get back to the main story).  Paul  730 00:18, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
The first disc of season seven are pretty much all standalones. It isn't until "Conversations..." that the season really starts. Season four of Angel is another very focused mytharc, so you should look forward to that. That's one of my favourite seasons, although it's unpopular mainly because of the literal and figuritive raping of Cordelia's character (which I can't really defend). I think mytharc seasons are generally unpopular with viewers and networks because they're harder to watch on TV; I know season five of Angel was deliberately more episodic for that reason, and Russel T Davies (Doctor Who guy) avoids complicated story arcs. I think because I watched all the Buffyverse seasons on DVD I actually prefer them, but I can see how they would be tiresome week to week.  Paul  730 01:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
That's what I mean though, a lot of the standalones have some relevance to the overall plot. Most of the seasons have more MotW episodes at the start, until the Big Bad is introduced. Doctor Who avoids complex story arcs because Davies fears alienating the viewers who haven't been watching every week. He specifically said that, as much as he loves Buffy and Angel, he would never make his shows as complicated as them because new viewers are completely lost. I think it works for Doctor Who, given the time-travelling nature of that show, but on Torchwood it's much more annoying.
I'm pretty sure you see Kennedy leave the school with the other Slayers. Urgh, I removed that fan fiction bullshit from Kennedy's page with extreme prejudice. "Wishing on a star"? Pass the sick bucket. No, they did plan to bring Tara back in season seven (see Tara's page, I think its unsourced but it's true) but Benson couldn't/didn't want to do it, so Joss created the "anti-Tara" with Kennedy. He's since stated he's very happy with how the Kennedy storyline turned out, as am I. I'd much rather Tara stayed dead; I'm not a fan of how they planned to bring her back and I think the storyline we got (Willow moving on in "The Killer in Me") was much more mature than some romantic crap with Tara being resurrected. Lol, the infamous Willow/Kennedy sex scene. I think they only got away with that because it was the third-to-last episode. It's a far cry from the times when Willow and Tara couldn't even kiss.  Paul  730 02:19, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I think the apparent lack of focus in season six was deliberate. The mission statement for that season was "life is the Big Bad", so it was really more about the character's personal issues than some external villain. In "Normal Again" (the Buffy-is-crazy episode), the doctor even says something along the lines of "Buffy's fantasy is falling apart. She used to fight demons and gods, and now her biggest enemy is three guys she went to high school with". I'm not saying the season is perfect, but I think a lot of it's "flaws" were actually intentional. (In fact, here's an interesting review of season six. That site is a great read, although I often disagree with it.)
It was in "Touched", that's the big "everybody having sex" episode (except Buffy and Spike, ironically and beautifully). I'm so happy they got away with it, it was a nice "fuck you" to the WB's earlier homophobia.  Paul  730 02:39, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, season one of Angel is all standalones, there's not a story arc in sight. :P It's still good stuff though. God, is Smallville ever going to end? ;) I can't believe Terminator is getting cancelled and Smallville is allowed to go on forever, there's no justice in the world. How is season eight anyway?  Paul  730 03:20, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Break

H2 teaser.  Paul  730 04:08, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
It's still some interesting clips though. I think Annie's going to bite it in this film; Michael is hot on her heels in that trailer and no way is she going to be lucky enough to survive twice. I just hope they do some interesting stuff with her before they kill her, Danielle Harris was wasted in RZH. Btw, I'm quite intriqued with the "Laurie is a cokewhore" idea, it's quite similar to what they're doing with the character in the First Death comic. I just hope it's executed with some sophistication and she's not just randomy slutty to please the male audience.
Joss' theory is there is no second Slayer; the line ran through Kendra and Faith, and since Buffy is already dead as far as the Slayer line is concerned, her second death doesn't mean anything. On my first viewing, I thought Justine on Angel was the second Slayer, but she's not even a Slayer.  Paul  730 15:54, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm enjoying the nostalgic Halloween II vibe from the hospital scenes, I just hope they don't go on too long. Lol, why did you put "Annie" in inverted commas like that wasn't her name? :P The hoodie... hmm, I'm not a huge fan but it looks a helluva lot better than Mane's bearded look, which I still hope is not in the movie. Hoodie or no hoodie, Michael still looks better than he did in the majority of the sequels. I guess I'm glad Zombie is doing his own version of Michael visually, since he's such a different character in every other way.
Faith is technically "The Slayer", but Buffy is more experienced and she's also not evil/in prison. When Faith first showed up, they did talk about her replacing Buffy altogether, remember. I don't think it was something the writers considered during season 7, but more of a belated explanation for a plothole. Even so, I guess Buffy and the Potentials wouldn't really know either way, so I guess their comments in season 7 aren't really continuity errors. I'm still not convinced Justine's not a Slayer, she could be. It's all moot now, anyway.
The Buffy page is something I haven't thought about in a while. After so many arguments on Wikipedia about policies and such, I'm a little put off trying to write a featured article. It just seems like the majority of readers and editors don't really care about well-written articles. That's not to say I don't value FAs myself, I still really respect you and Zythe's work, I'm just not that motivated to do it myself. (Speaking of which, sorry I wasn't more involved with the F13 FAR). I might finish Buffy off down the line, we'll see. Right now I'm just satisfied that her article is readable and not the cruft-graveyard it used to be. I'm more interested in making an article for the Halloween comics, there's a lot of interviews and reviews out there and I think they could branch out of the franchise page.  Paul  730 19:32, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
That picture of Michael knifing someone in the hosptial is still very HII though, in a good way. I think Tyler Mane looks ridiculous with the beard, like Santa Claus meets Bigfoot or something. It's like an extension of the problem I had with the long hair in RZH... I know you liked that, but I just thought it was very anti-Michael Myers, he's usually a clean-cut killer. Oh well, I did say I was okay with Zombie doing his own thing.
Lol, the Watcher's Council know feck all. They're currently inactive, there's a few stray Watchers here and there but no formal organization since Caleb blew them up. Also, in Fray, they've devolved into a cult of insane zealots who burn themselves alive when they meet Fray.
Buffy potentially being Jason-length is partially why I'm avoiding working on her; I don't feel like I could do her justice. Most of the proper scholary works I've seen written about her are so in-depth that I can't even make sense out of them, lol. I still have some sources here and there, I might aim for at least GA. Clark Kent should totally be featured. Just make sure the prose is tight before you nominate it though, I'd hate to see it dismissed over something petty like some grammer problems. Tell me when you plan to nominate it and I'll help you copy edit.  Paul  730 22:13, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Lol, maybe the curse of Thorn stops his hair from growing, whatever. I'd definitely appreciate help on the Buffy article, but don't feel obligated. :) I enjoy reading the Smallville articles so copyediting is no bother. Speaking of, I should really get around to finishing the rest of my Smallville DVDs, but Dexter and Curb Your Enthusiasm (my boss got me into it) are currently taking priority. Plus I'd kinda like to have a run-though of Buffy season seven.  Paul  730 23:12, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I'm kinda fond of ol' Thorn, just as it's own thing and nothing to do with the original movie. I stopped at the second-to-last episode of season five. Lol, which means I'll have no idea what's going on when I get back to it. I might re-watch the last episode I saw as catch-up. Did you never suggest Buffy to your g/f? I mean, it's kind of a "chick" show in a way and let's face it, it's better than some of the crap you make her watch. ;) I've never even heard of Repo, is it any good? Oh Jesus, my boss saw The Happening and he said it was one of the worst movies he's ever seen, I can't believe you bought it.  Paul  730 23:33, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Not available in my country. :( Oh well, doesn't it get released legitimately on YouTube tomorrow? What happens in it, anything surprising?  Paul  730 22:26, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
So is the official title H2 then? There's a lot of people on OHMB complaining that the "kill for mommy" aspect is ripped straight out of Friday the 13th. Zombie's version of Michael has always been a little Jasony and this might be going too far, what do you think?  Paul  730 22:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, but I think a hulking, sympathetic serial killer with mommy issues is a little too close to Jason no matter how you cut it. I must admit though, despite my general cynicism towards this film, the more info gets released, the more I actually am looking forward to it. There was a great screenshot came out recently of Michael and a trick-or-treater staring at each other, it was pretty creepy. Also, do you know what's going on with the Phantom Jammers and Uncle Coffins? People keep discussing them on OHMB and I don't really know what they're on about. Is it just some party Laurie goes to or something?  Paul  730 22:55, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
I have a feeling Uncle Coffins will be the breakout character of this film, the one all the fans embrace. He just looks really cool. Apparently he was supposed to be played by the Chop Top actor? The whole Phantom Jam thing seems like a great idea, there's a nice old-school horror feel to it.  Paul  730 23:11, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Break 2

So, the trailer... pretty cool I have to say. The whole Deborah thing looks better than I thought (though I wonder why Michael envisions his mother dressed like that). It seems more like Michael is trying to reunite his broken family through death than killing out of vengeance or anything like that. It could be really interesting, or it could be totally cheesy. I have to wonder if Zombie would have went down this route if Deborah wasn't played by his wife... it does seem like a contrived way to shoehorn her into the movie. Can't she find her own work? I'm intriqued by Loomis' line about Michael evolving, and I hope Brackett has a good role in the movie. The hospital section looks like a dream sequence, I thought I saw a shot of Laurie waking up.  Paul  730 21:35, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Lol, you don't like it just because you can't see Michael's mask? I actually thought the hoody costume looked better in the trailer than it does in the publicity photos. There's shots where his face is total darkness and it looks rather Grim Reaper-esque. I also liked the shot where it appeared as though Michael was being blown away by a helicopter.  Paul  730 22:28, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
No, I never bothered setting it up. I only ever play GTAIV nowadays anyway. Why, do you have it?  Paul  730 19:57, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I bought my Xbox specifically for GTAIV (didn't know you owned that) because I've always wanted my own GTA game and, being a Nintendo fan, never owned the right consoles. I've never really bought anything else for it. What games did you get?  Paul  730 21:41, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
My friend lent me Dead Rising but I never played it (I might still have it around here somewhere...) I'll probably get Xbox live one day, I just haven't really bothered with video games in a while. My Wii is completely neglected, I can't even remember the last time I switched it on.  Paul  730 22:18, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, saw this and thought it would be a good source for the Characters article.  Paul  730 19:49, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Looks great, think they'll actually go all the way and kill Clark? I mean, it is Doomsday, and it would probably make for a really interesting ninth season...  Paul  730 01:00, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
It all sounds really cool. I keep meaning to get back into Smallville, I'm rewatching Being Human right now (the DVD just came out) so I might get into season 6 after that. Quality aside, I do hope Smallville ends soon though, it's barely an "origin" story now as it is. Taking it past season 9 might be pushing it.  Paul  730 01:22, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
That's actually how I feel about season seven of Buffy; it's one of the most flawed seasons but the ending is perfect. I don't think they should have continued Buffy past the seventh season because it really was the perfect "final" season. (Season Eight is different because it's a different medium.) You can continue to tell Clark's tale, but Smallville is supposed to be an origin story and now that he's grown up and close to being Superman, that concept is wearing thin. I mean, does he even live in Smallville any more? I think Clark flying would definitely be a "final season" kind of thing.  Paul  730 13:34, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
That's true, and granted I don't watch the show, but it does seem like it's pretty much just a Superman show now, what with the Lois relationship and the Daily Planet and everything. I can't really make a fair judgement since I've not seen the character development, etc.  Paul  730 13:54, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
I hate when legal nonsense gets in the way of creativity. Like, apparently the Halloween comics are prevented from using the John Tate character because of legal crap (I assume Josh Hartnett won't allow his likeness to be used or something). It's frustrating. I'm glad the film studio is being more lenient with Smallville and the Superman license because season eight does look like the best season of the show yet. I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing if the show continued, but it is better to come to a natural ending than drag on until you get cancelled. Charmed really outstayed it's welcome and the final season was horrendous.  Paul  730 22:17, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Per: Wes Craven's New Nightmare I just wanted to enlarge the photo to show his detail a little better! I saw X mentioned on the CW message boards but don't remember what he (or she) did. I think X sent an email to someone, or perhaps a paper note of some kind. And one of these mysterious devices like the one Clark used to get to the Fortress of Solitude. I don't even know if those devices are mentioned on Wikipedia.

I'm doing a heck of a job finding and compiling the information posted on those boards if I can't find out who X is.

Obviously, there's nothing I can put in a Wikipedia article--yet. But X deserves this--at the very least some brief mention in some article such as Lex Luthor (Smallville)--once some concrete details are found. I left a red link on X (disambiguation) and that was embarrassing, but someone merely changed it so Smallville is a blue link on the entry.

I may just ask who X is on that board. And it still won't likely be a usable source; someone COULD give me a real source but that site no longer allows external links.

Do YOU know anything?Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 18:11, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Cordelia

I quickly adressed some of the issues. Is there anything major left that's standing in the way of it passing?  Paul  730 23:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey Bignole. I've only been following a bit the back and forth that's been going on at List of South Park episodes, but it looks like here somebody might have changed it back to the previous layout? I'm not sure if I'm understanding it right, because as I said I haven't been following it too closely, but I thought I'd let you know just in case... — Hunter Kahn (contribs) 22:18, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Nightmare

I do know what I am doing, I was moving the pages a "dozen times" because I was swapping titles. Also, The "Nightmare Remake" page is needed, it was very childish of you to move it without giving me notice, the cast is very valuable information, this page is a splendid page which provides perfect information, as it states... {{Future film}}

meaning, more information will be added as the release date approaches

Lex Luthor

You have to admit he's no longer a regular. I knew I couldn't use the CW message boards as a source for Kevin Miller, but the person who said that was the actor's name must have gotten it from somewhere. Whether that somewhere is a reliable source I don't know.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 21:07, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

That's weird. The history says you undid my revision, and yet part of that was to say Lex "was" a regular. Reverting should have changed it to the previous version, which said, "has been".

I was going to look up Kevin Miller and hope you didn't catch it before I found the source, but I guess what you say makes sense.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 12:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Victory! I found my sources.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0012208/

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1939777/

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0000195/

They don't really explain what's going on. But the first one clearly says that in "Requiem", Matt Adler was the voice. I forgot about him, so I shouldn't have said Kevin Miller "played" Lex. How you use this information is up to you, I guess, but given what you said, I probably shouldn't attempt anything.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 13:04, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I have seen doubts about whether imdb could be used, which is one reason I didn't try that yesterday. Another is that I avoid going to sites outside an "approved list" when I'm at home. This protects me from most problems such as viruses and whatever causes computers to shut down because their software can't handle an ad or something.

I personally think imdb ought to be trustworthy (i.e., they should limit how they get it so that it is trustworthy) for cast information, but one time they said I had to submit the movie and its information for it to be included. So I went in search of reliable information and submitted it. The entry for the movie was a holy mess.

This is new information to me that you can appear to revert in the history and then go back and change information. I guess I should look at histories more carefully.

And if I had looked at the Lex article's history, I would hae seen what you said and known better.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 17:37, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, they got the information from somewhere, and sooner or later, that information HAS to be official.

I did see this, and I am aware people add to this site like they do imdb, but come on! At some point, someone reliable HAD to contibute cast information to both these sites.

"Doomsday"

What did you think of the Smallville finale? I thought the "Little Jimmy" copout was cheap, and somewhat pandering - I quite liked the continuity variations we have in Smallville. Yet again, Clark has either lost his way or become trapped in a season finale. I was almost sure Chloe would regain her healing powers, and was surprised and unhappy when she didn't. Didn't get the ending scene, entirely - there's two possible scenarios for it, one being really implausible within the show's own mythology and the other making just about as little sense in a different way.~ZytheTalk to me! 15:11, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

AHHHHH!MUST NOT READ! HAVE NOT SEEN!Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 17:02, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

And I was going to check the articles to see if they needed updating ... can't do it.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:13, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't want to learn what happened before I actually see the episode. Too late. I went to a message board where I didn't realize the participants would be revealing spoilers until it was too late. They used to post on the CW board, but no longer.

Furthermore, I can't use the episode itself as a source for anything until I do see it.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:38, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I meant the Zod thing. Yeah, figured, just seemed like an odd place to take the show for next year (again!). I wonder if maybe Zod just happens to be identical to Davis like Jor-El is Clark, rather than it being another possession thing! As for Jimmy, they pointed out his real name is Henry shortly before they introduced the 10-years-younger bowtie wearing "real" James Olsen... I thought that was a cheap retrofit/retcon.~ZytheTalk to me! 00:08, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm glad I accidentally read the spoiler about Jimmy. I was more prepared for what happened. Not happy, just prepared. There is speculation on the CW message board that the brother is actually Jimmy, which was kind of cheap, I agree.

Nothing we have said or read is able to be used in the Jimmy Olsen article, I assume.

I guess we have no proof of Zod either.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 16:05, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, someone apparently thinks speculation is good enough. It's not my responsibility to delete it because it all may be true.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 16:18, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I looked in the wrong place. Now I've got some reading to do on the CW message board.

I should go through my massive archive of posts because there may be keys to details that can be added to Wikipedia, even though mesage board posts themselves can't be the sources.

And I finally saw most of the rest of the episode. I thought I had more tape left.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:36, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

The Ausiello information did make it to the CW message board. Usually such things get posted well in advance.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:49, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Would you be interested in joining this project? We need more editors who share a burden for rescuing promising editors who have gotten into serious trouble because of behavioral issues. IF (a fundamental condition!) they are interested in reforming and adapting to our standards of conduct, and are also willing to abide by our policies and guidelines, rather than constantly subverting them, we can offer to help them return to Wikipedia as constructive editors. Right now many if not most users who have been banned are still active here, but they are here as socks or anonymous IPs who may or may not be constructive. We should offer them a proper way to return. If you think this is a good idea, please join us. I Seek To Help & Repair! (talk) 05:10, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

your view

Why was it that Collectonian was not required to seek consensus before she made wholesale changes in the plot section of No Country for Old Men? Ring Cinema (talk) 14:29, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

"Long winded"? Factually inaccurate. I've made many incremental changes for the sake of brevity.

So the way this works is, if I make a wholesale change, it stays up until there's discussion? I think we both know that's not how it works. Wholesale changes are supposed to be discussed in advance, right? And since I used an incremental approach I was following the guides. She wasn't. Right? Ring Cinema (talk) 14:59, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

No Country edits/development

Rather than spreading to individual talk pages, it may be more advantageous to center the discussion on content and stylistic issues to the article's talk pages. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 18:02, 18 May 2009 (UTC).cm

Sorry if I offended. I believe you advised me on my conduct and I did the same. I'm judging you, it's true, and I'm not pretending that I don't. You started off badly. That said, I'll take your advice to the best of my ability. Ring Cinema (talk) 19:31, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Help with Gryffinclaw

I know you've dealt with Gryffinclaw (talk · contribs) before. Can you back me up on this, because he had been changing the spellings on some articles related to Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch despite official spellings already established in official merchandise and the English-language manga and never backs up his edits. I've left him a message about him, but he hasn't responded to it yet as well as the previous messages. I know anime is not your cup of tea, but I need your help or back-up on dealing with this guy. Thank you. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 05:18, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Never mind about my previous message above. KrebMarkt and Collectonian have dealt with Gryffinclaw and his/her new recent edits since the message above. I'm sorry if I bothered you like this because I know you were the first to deal with Gryffinclaw, which is why I told you about him first. I hope you understand my apologies. Thank you. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 09:34, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

The Red-Blue Blur

I started to ask you for advice. I guess the best way to do it is just to do it myself, and then we know you'll come along ansd make it right. Thanks!

By the way, we can't use the episode as a reference if it happened in some future episode. And I don't think it's spellled "monicker."

I checked to see how 'Red-Blue Blur" is treated and it redirected to Superman. Now that was REALLY wrong, as Smallville Clark is not him. But somewhere, Wikipedia had to establish what it was.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 20:03, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

All but two of the redirects I created. There are other possible capitalization strategies but they redirected without being properly capitalized, so no point in more.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 21:14, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
