Smallville

Hi, the table that I added makes it easier for people to get the information and it gives them a quick overview. The repeated information that is repeated is also on the main page for Smallville, but I brought it to the top, where it is easier to find.

Also, I changed the color to black because the season 10 color was the same as the 9th season.

Horror and Thrillers

If you chronicle the history of horror films and thriller films, you'll see that horror arrived on the scene first. When it came to films. One of the first thrillers was The Bells, a crime thriller. One of the earliest horror films is Le Manoir du diable, a French horror short which was produced almost 30 years before The Bells. A lot of the early thriller elements were also found in horror films; the thrillers were just glossier versions without monsters.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 13:37, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

That examples of horror predate the earliest thrillers doesn't make thrillers an offshoot. Early films drew on literature for their formal elements, and it's obvious that genre distinctions predate cinema. Some say that The Odyssey is the first thriller; would that make all horror an offshoot of the thriller? I think we can agree that would be bad logic, although it's more plausible than the reverse. I agree with the implication that monsters define horror, though. That's why Last House... doesn't seem to fit easily into the category and probably why imdb made their correction. --Ring Cinema (talk) 14:00, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Even if you look at literature horror elements are some of the first for any culture. Almost every culture has their prototypical "monster", especially in Greek lore, that is present whether through general religious beliefs or fiction. I may be confusing it for another Greek story, so forgive me if I am, but didn't The Odyssey contain monsters of some sort? Thus, it kind of contained both elements. How have you been? Had any luck with the job situation? I recently saw Predators and Toy Story 3... Predators was okay, I'm not a big fan of that series but it was kinda entertaining in a dumb actiony way. I actually saw the AvP films for the first time a while ago, liked the first but found the second boring. Toy Story 3 was absolutely amazing, that was my favourite film as a child so to have such a perfect conclusion to the series was really emotional. Best film trilogy ever made I think. Good to hear everything's going well. I preferred the first AvP cause it seemed to go more into the mythology between the two species. I know it was a bit video gamey but what the hell, it was fun. The second one was just a bit dull, it felt like a generic sci fi action that just happened to feature Aliens and Predators. It was nice to see a "real life" setting but it was still boring.

True Blood is worth watching I'd say. The concept is quite similar to something the Buffy comics attempted (vampires being embraced by the media/public) but it was executed much more convinvingly than it was in Buffy. However, I felt the second season got a little too "supernatural", it started to feel like a R-rated episode of Charmed.  Paul  730 00:33, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

We are officially Facebook friends. So weird looking at your pictures, seeing how I've been chatting to you for 3 years. Yeah, Smallville season 6 is still unopened. I guess I kinda saw enough of Smallville, cause I've never felt any great urge to go back to it. It's there if I ever want to go back to it, which I might if they ever make a new movie or something. I forgot you hadn't bought Angel yet. Lol, if you buy that, I'll finish Smallville (no I won't). The Buffy motion comic looks pretty naff to me, but then I don't like any motion comic (couldn't even sit though the Astonishing X-Men one). Here's the trailer for it, Buffy's voice sounds awful and the whole thing just looks awkward. I might buy the DVD out of completism, but I'll stick to the comics, thanks. (Btw, I think the motion comics are downloadable so your recent edit to the Buffy article might be wrong.)

I think they recast Hulk because Norton wanted too much money, and Marvel Studios are being tight. I'm not that bothered, I would be if it were the trinity that had been recast but who cares about Bruce Banner? I hadn't seen the new Peter actor until you mentioned him... he certainly looks more like Peter Parker than Maguire ever did. What do you think of him?  Paul  730 16:59, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

No, that was the stipulation for buying Nightdance, which you did just to spite me. :P But you didn't worship Nightdance so the deal was off, lol. Btw, Nightmare Warriors is out as a TPB now, if you're interested. I bought it the other week, it matches the first one nicely. Fun series, better than the first one, but let down by the lazy artwork again.

I'm not familiar with Ruffalo so I won't judge him. The Hulk's just gonna end up as a CGI creation anyway so I'm not that bothered who plays him, I'm just annoyed they couldn't get consistency between Incredible Hulk and Avengers. I'm interested in the guy they picked to play Hawkeye, he was in an episode of Angel.

Eh... you're talking to a fan of the comics so I kinda prefer the web shooters just cause they're the canon version. I see the convenience of the organic web shooters in a movie, since you don't have to explain him making them himself. However, Peter is meant to be a science genius and the web shooters are meant to be his greatest creation. In the Ultimate comics, they make fun of the fact that Peter can make something like that and he still works for a paper. Plus he's always whining about how much they cost to make.
