February 2023[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, Bignutz694200, does not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy, which is summarized below.
Under Wikipedia's username policy, a username should represent an individual person. It should not: represent a group or organization; be promotional; be misleading (such as indicating possession of special user rights, being a "bot" account - unless approved, or implying that the account has any administrative or "moderator" user rights, or any kind of "power" or "authority" over other users); nor be offensive or otherwise disruptive. However, a username that contains the name of an organization and also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87" is allowed, but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company". Among others, the guidance on conflict of interest and the policy on paid-contribution disclosure are relevant.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If your username is not in violation of Wikipedia's username policy, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

OK, I didn't think your user name was funny, but I also didn't think that User talk:Bigfartman39 was funny. Drmies (talk) 00:57, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies, you're leaving mixed messages here. Firstly a "change your username or start again" block message but a block log which says it's a CU block (i.e. appeal to ArbCom). Which is it?
I've declined a rename request. Cabayi (talk) 09:31, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Cabayi, not mixed, really, but consecutive. After I read over their strange message again I figured that CU might have something interesting to tell me, and it did. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 16:19, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes mixed Drmies. The block notice above says to change username and all will be well. The user requested a rename, As you've upgraded the block, the softblock notice is no longer valid. A {{checkuserblock-account}} block notice now applies:
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

OK, Cabayi, I'll spend some more time on this. Drmies (talk) 18:04, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bignutz, I apologize for not updating the block notice on your talk page. I thought you were just being childish with your grossly inappropriate user name--thinking maybe you really did have very large testicles, and maybe weren't aware that "69" indicates a sexual position, and that "420" was just another number. Your reference to an account with BIG BALLS, however, made me look a little closer, and it led me to discover that you had claimed in an earlier account you started, User talk:Bigfartman39, that THC causes throat cancer. At that moment I blocked you more permanently, for your username--after a Big Fart, the Big Nuts seem a bit more juvenile, and the THC edit made me think that maybe you did know what "420" referred to. So I changed the block, because of the user name but also because you clearly had a history of wanting to vandalize Wikipedia. I did not, and I now regret this, upgrade the block notice, since I didn't think you'd be making another attempt at getting into Wikipedia. I am sorry, and I will place the proper template below.

If this is not clear, I'll just state it for the record, again: you are blocked because you have a gross and inappropriate user name which suggests you are not here to improve our project, and you have been linked via indisputable technical evidence to a previous account with an offensive user name which was used to vandalize our project. Alright, I understand. Sorry for the past vandalism and all. I've been quite interested in linguistics among other things so I thought I'd make a legitimate account but didn't take the time to realize "big balls 69 420" isn't the best name to use... Unblock if you want, if it's permanent because if my past edits and username, continue to leave me blocked. I will still read the site daily as I have for years, but I understand the reasoning for my block. Bignutz694200 (talk) 00:33, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I did submit a username change for something a bit more serious, WalmartCrusader256 in reference to my retail job, but it appears it was denied in favor of my past disruptive behavior. Bignutz694200 (talk) 00:34, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
