Welcome[edit]

Hi there! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like it here and stick around. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

A few general tips before you start doing a lot of editing:

  • When you post something on a talk/discussion page, you can sign your name by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.
  • If you ever find yourself with nothing to do on Wikipedia, have a look at the Community Portal, you'll find that there's always something happening.

If you ever have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, don't hesitate to write to me on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Happy editing and have a great day! :-) Akamad 10:41, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Peadophile episode query[edit]

You can watch the Brass Eye clip you mentioned at Talk:Brass Eye at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TedtkqWzCTE. I found it on a blog dedicated almost entirely to clips of Chris Morris programmes called Chicken Liver: Bits of Comedy, which actually includes the entire 2001 Brass Eye special. -Bungopolis 01:11, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These two articles seem to be very similar. If you work on one and set the other to redirect it will avoid confusion. Mr Stephen 10:14, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you're in the process of reorganising it, then that's fine, I'll leave it to you. I'd help, but it's a long way from my field. Regards, Mr Stephen 15:40, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated vandalism by non registered users, so please:

The above page is getting vandalised all the time, it needs semi-protection so I can rebuild it without wasting my time all over again.

The vandalism occurring at that article isn't bad enough to warrant protection. Pages that are protected due to vandalism suffer much more than that, and even then protection is done for only a short period of time. If it happens, just WP:REVERT to a better version and apply your changes. If it gets very bad, please feel free to post a request at WP:RFPP. Cheers, Tangotango 13:24, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article Cycling.tv has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article has many problems. Notability is not established, conflict of interest due to editors with the names "Cyclingtv" and "Simonbrydon" (founder) editing, no references and no secondary sources. A speedy deletion was attempted in March 2009. Lectonar disagreed because the article showed notability by claiming that cycling.tv was the sole rights-holder authorized to provide internet broadcasts of popular professional cycling races, and after that Blackwell tried to find sources to improve the article, see the talk page. The claim on which Lectonar removed the Speedy was never sourced, and has since been removed from the article. As the article shows, Blackwell did not add sources to this article, and the contested section was also removed.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
