You removed the prod but you didn't post anything to the talk page. Can you please tell me how you think this meets WP:LISTN or WP:GNG? Many thanks. - MrX 17:44, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of people on the postage stamps of Netherlands New Guinea has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A list shouldn't just be verifiable, it should also be on a notable group subject. A list of 2 is a bit short, and that stamps of a country or subcountry show the monarch and their consort is not really noteworthy (nearly every country with a king or queen had these on their stamps).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Fram (talk) 15:06, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I recognize that the list of 2 is very short. I was updating the Netherlands entry in the main list of "List of People on Postage Stamps" and saw that someone in the past had created a separate main entry for Netherlands New Guinea. I created the small page in order to complete the Netherlands-related lists. The data could be incorporated into the Netherlands page as a subsection or the page could remain as is. Any additional thoughts on this from you? Bill Blampied (talk) 15:24, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you are actively purging all entries in the tree "List of People on Postage Stamps (LPPS)", I believe that it is MANDATORY for you to go through ALL of Wikipedia searching for ALL lists that have the same issues and eliminating them. As the old phrase goes "what is good for the goose is good for the gander". Here are a couple for you to start on:
- "Lists of Car Brands". This tree is just a list and a list of lists with no notability all. It is a specialized list failing the Wikipedia generality policies.
- "List of Chief Executive Officers". This list has nearly the same structure and data content as the LPPS articles. No direct notability and incomplete since the Wikipedia CEO is not even listed!
I am sure that there are hundreds of similar lists for you to find. You should also look through lists in many of the languages used in Wikipedia to ensure a complete cleansing.
By the way the recent AfDs for LPPS contain a lie. They state that there is a discussion ongoing. This is false since the decision to purge the entire list has already been made AND is actively ongoing. Comments can be made but will not alter the purge decision.
