Speedy deletion declined: Dawn Acton[edit]

Hello GSorby. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Dawn Acton, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. Salvio Let's talk about it! 02:29, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help![edit]

Okay i've been talking to Nick Wilton who's actually a member of Wikipeida. His name on Wikipeida is User talk:Nickwilton001. We've been talking but I need your help on a question he's asked me,Thanks! MayhemMario 16:20, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • To be honest Mario, I reckon that's you. GSorby - Talk! 15:44, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, what? Your saying that's me, sigh.... Always accusing me... It's not, so dont go there. Now can you see if you can help? And why would I now stuff about Nick Wilton's 1st wife, that isnt even on any references? MayhemMario 16:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC
  • Well considering you've made other accounts claiming to someone else, what do you expect? GSorby - Talk! 16:05, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You know, no one's ever been that nice to me on here have they? I thought you were one of the exceptions. You know they werent me, and i know they werent. And anyway in the investigation i was blocked for ONE differnet account, not several. Now can you help or not? MayhemMario 17:07, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mario, I have not been disrespectful to you in anyway. No I can't help, sorry. GSorby - Talk! 16:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, just got a bit annoyed over everything, no seriously i'm sorry, i didnt mean it. Thanks for the help anyway, i appreciate it.MayhemMario 17:13, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • He means it wouldn't surprise him if you'd sat and talked to yourself. GSorby - Talk! 16:21, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Well thats nice. Thanks. I dont think that's a 'LOL' moment either. MayhemMario 17:25, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So do you knwo anyone who could help me with the Nick Wilton's picture? MayhemMario 19:24, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • None of us own a picture of him so we can;t add one. GSorby - Talk! 19:01, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
no,no,no!!! Wilton (suppossingly) said this, I own the photo on the home page of my .com website but really struggled with converting it from jpeg and gave up, but am happy for it to go on this page. If you can do it for me I'm happy for that. How do I make it licence free for you? How do I reply to that? Sorry for not making it clear. MayhemMario 20:04, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mario, hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he would need to either upload the picture himself here, or send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, saying that he agrees to release the image under a free license, eg. CC-BY-SA-3.0. Frickative 19:39, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
okay.... That's confusing, can you explain more?MayhemMario 20:44, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, what's confusing about it? Frickative 19:48, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So i've got to get Nick to email permissions-en@wikimedia.org and say he gives permission to use a photo of his website under free use? MayhemMario 20:51, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

() Aha, here we go, I knew there was a guide somewhere. Here and here are the relevant sections that explain it in detail. Frickative 19:57, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eddie Moon image[edit]

Hey, do you have an image of Eddie Moon? His reception section totally justifies a photo, as long as it includes his "smart, black three-piece [suit] and a white button-down collar shirt" :-) –anemoneprojectors– 16:42, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It kind of looks like his face is melting in that picture! That's a picture from when he was reading the newspaper, isn't it? Do you have one from yesterday's episode, when he was wearing that suit? Having more of his outfit as described in the reception section in the picture would help it to pass the NFCC. –anemoneprojectors– 17:03, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I dont want to make you feel guilty, it's not your fault. I'm just a rabbit in the headlights and I cant get out. I new as soon as that user came on here I should have said 'no' but Nick's so intresting telling me these things, I couldnt stop myself. One ting I want to say, Thanks a lot AP for all your help, you've been a true friend ( I like the woprd too!).MayhemMario 18:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well to be fair you have had the benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned. That was when you swore blind the other user was not you and it turned out to be you. Greg Jessop[edit]

I've got the Stefan Booth interview out of Inside Soap so I thought I'd leave you the few questions with potential to use.

Who would win a fight between Greg and Max? It depends what Greg's fighting for, and if his life depended on it. But Greg would do his best to avoid fisticuffs. If he had to fight over anything, it would definitely be over Tanya, or their love together. That's one thing he'd step up for.

What was your EastEnders audition like? It was fun, but I didn't expect to get the job at all. I usually go in expecting the worst, then if anything happens it's great. That tends to keep me relaxed. I really love EastEnders, so I suppose the idea of landing the job was just so brilliant I couldn't pin all my hopes on getting it, or I'd of been a nervous wreck!

Is it good playing a nice guy, or are you hoping Grag's dark side will surface? Greg's tough, but gentle. He's fundamentally a nice guy, and it's rare to get that in a soap. He seems very straightforward, so it's refreshing for Tanya to have that influence in her life.

Nobody needs to do anything. If there's no reception, it can't be found. If it's not split off, it's not the end of the world. Not everything needs a separate article! You're acting like you want everything split off. –anemoneprojectors– 22:18, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Hey - your pretty good with the net. You know how News of the World is closing. Just an idea, but you could archive some useful Eastenders links from them, as if it is deleted it would be a shame to lose so much info. I've been adding some for other soaps in my sandbox, but I can't realistically save em all. lolRaintheOne BAM 23:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Argh I know!! As soon as I heard that NoW was closing down I thought "Wikipedia is gonna have some F*** ups!". Yeh I'll do that Rain. It'd be a killer to find all of them though :-) ..George SorbyTalkContribs .. 23:51, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mia McKenna Bruce requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Well let me start, and being rude was not my intention. So to start. You showed up on Wikipedia (and no I'm not trying to get rid of you) and you're acting like you've been here longer than me. Sorry but I just can't stand nice guys. You complain to me that I copy stuff from your userpage but still you don't mention you pinched it from Raintheone!! You copy everything I do as well. Such as the online/offline icon on the user pages and you started to use the outdent template when I started using it. Hello![edit]

See for the edit that Brianwazere made to your userpage about 20 minutes ago, would you like me to delete that revision from the public archives?

I've just protected Raintheones pages, would you like your user and talk page semi-protected for say a month?--5 albert square (talk) 23:36, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done both pages protected for a month as Brian's current IPs are blocked for one and two weeks. I've also semi move protected them both indefinitely as well so that way if another IP of Brian's comes by and finds it can't edit the page, he can't have fun another way!--5 albert square (talk) 14:22, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL Mario! Did you really mean to call him Brain?! I doubt it! Anyway IP now blocked, also locked Manda's page for a month due to Brian saying he won't stop. Sadly I can't range block him just yet because other people using the same range are making useful edits to the encyclopedia, so the only thing I can do is block the IPs as and when they pop up and lock the articles. Why on earth did they do away with pending changes for the mainstream articles?! *sigh*--5 albert square (talk) 18:17, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also as I know you love Ann Mitchell and Cora Cross, here's another interview with BK, you may like some of the info, here a bit:

In a recent interview with Inside Soap, you revealed that Ann Mitchell will be reprising her role as Cora Cross. Can you tell us any more about this?

With the loss of Barbara Windsor, I was keen to find a new matriarch for the show, and Ann Mitchell is a dream booking. I've always been a fan of her work, and with the storyline we've got planned, we'll wonder how we ever did without Cora.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Tony Discipline requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

The reception section you added reads like it's been directly copied and pasted. That's a copyright violation, unless the text was released under a free licence in the first place, which I doubt. Please re-write this section, instead of just copying and pasting entire chunks from sources. Quotes are fine, but the bits in between need amending. Please do not revert changes made by OTRS agents in their official capacity when you're explicitely asked not to. We never make controversial edits and "hide" them behind the OTRS seal. This is a purely factual matter; if you have any doubts about its veracity, you should contact an administrator with OTRS access. Again, you are asked not to make any changes to this edit, Thank you! Asav | Talk (Member of the OTRS Volunteer Response Team) 12:39, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I apologise. But you didn't cite a source, and the previous edit did. GSorbyPing! 12:40, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologize! Normally, you'd be absolutely right in doing so (even though the previous source was a bit dodgy), but OTRS and Office action matters are the two areas on WP where we sometimes waive up-front verifiabilty. Asav | Talk (Member of the OTRS Volunteer Response Team) 12:53, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
PS. You seem to be doing a great job!
Oh I see! Yes, I must admit that findmypast is a bit iffy. GSorbyPing! 12:58, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it better to just remove the information instead of replacing it with unverified information? What does the OTRS say? How do we know it's genuine? I've removed it. –anemoneprojectors– 13:40, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you link me to the discussion, I wanna see this. lol Everything I have read has said that Brett has returned for a short stint and will be off to spend time with her baby. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is "Jane Beale". Thank you. --JackJackUK (talk) 22:14, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was discussed at the WikiProject. And plus you ignored the hidden comments. To be honest I think you need to grow up a little and accept the fact that you got reverted, not behave like a child taking it to Dispute Resolution. GSorbyPing! 22:34, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Durations[edit]

I'm sorry I can't understand this. This whole discussion has made a lot of the articles factually wrong? If a character such as May Wright left in June 2007 and returned in June 2008, she did not appear continuously from 2006-2008 did she? She appeared from 2006-2007 and then for a one off appearance in 2008? Alex250P (talk) 02:49, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry, but I agree with the above user, but then that's WP:EE rules. :D MayhemMario 20:15, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Think about it though. If a character recurs every year, like Sal Martin, then it would be awkward and untidy to put 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 when its's easier to put 1996— or 1996–2011? GSorbyPing! 15:00, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We did agree to do it this way. If you think it should be different for one-off appearances, I suggest you take it up at WT:EE. But my opinion is that it's fine as it is. –anemoneprojectors– 15:04, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It troubles me a little now. It works for some not for others, such as Lucy Beale, who will be back 2011 at the end but had a substantial break, and to show coninuous durtion is a bit misleading. We may need to revist this unfortunately.GunGagdinMoan 15:34, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Accusations of vandalism[edit]

I came across this revert you made by User:Joshua Guest, where you called it vandalism, which consisted of He is the son of Pat Evans and Brian Wicks and is also the young half brother of David Wicks, which Brian_Wicks#Brian_Wicks seems t say that this is at least plausible. I also noted this reversion that you called vandalism, but the citation seems to indicate the information claimed. Now, as to the accuracy of the information, I have no idea, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this is vandalism. It looks like a conflict between you two over the content of the article, but the edits (regardless of quality) appear to be in good faith. I couldn't help but notice this warning, which was a level 4 warning you put on his page for vandalism, where there had never been a prior warning. (He has only had one problem with removing speedy tags, which is unrelated). This looks a lot like biting the new comer. More importantly, I find no discussion about the inclusions / exclusion on the talk page for the article, and the only communications you seem to have had with the editor is to give him a level 4 warning to block him. By anyone's standards, this is a very harsh first warning to give any editor.

The guidelines on vandalism say Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia., so unless he is obviously adding this cited material, or this material that appears to be backed up with other Wikipedia articles for the purpose of undermining Wikipedia, it isn't vandalism. Content that you disagree with or that you feel is inaccurate, but added in good faith, is not vandalism. If there is something else I missed, please tell me. Otherwise, please be careful how you label fellow editor's contributions, regardless of your perception of their quality. Dennis Brown (talk) 18:47, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. Apologies for any misunderstanding. GSorbyPing! 19:49, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Appologies may be best saved for him ;) But I understand that you were also acting in good faith, but mistaken as to what we call vandalism. He is pretty new here, a little help from a more experienced editor might be helpful. I've dealt with him one article I nominated for deletion, and we ended up working together a bit and fixing it enough to keep. He just lacks experience. Dennis Brown (talk) 21:40, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no, I do know what vandalism is and what isn't, I just considered it vandalism as he kept re-inserting the information. Maybe I could help him out a bit. I've always been a friendly face on Wikipedia for nearly three years now so I know how everything works. Thanks for your advice, it was helpful :) GSorbyPing! 22:29, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also a perfectionist but I don't have time to be one now! Being brief is hard. Cora... hmm I don't like the noises her mouth makes when she talks. If she has scenes with Jack Branning I'll be screaming because he makes the same noises!!! –anemoneprojectors– 16:20, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Meh I notice it with Jack, but that's because I hate him...so, so much. You must admit, Cora and Rainie are the only decent introductions Kirkwood's made so far...and maybe Lola. Anyway, I'll let you get on! GSorbyPing! 16:23, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Derek[edit]

I noticed that you asked for some sources

  • Yahoo were more interested in Max/Jack than Derek - [9]
  • The Mirror offer up some good reception - [10]
  • The Mirror praise Derek's casting - [11]
  • Anything of use in this interview? - [12]
  • I love what the Guardian brand him as - [13]
  • BT describe him - [14]RaintheOne BAM 00:23, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
George, reception sections are meant for analysis and critique from sources other than those close to the subject matter. I'm not sure a section to what Forman thinks is a good example of a reception section. Too much weight is being placed on what Foreman has harped on abgout as it is. I've offered some source which could help build a section, above.RaintheOne BAM 21:49, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Rain, though after Rain moved it were left we a quote from Jaqi and I.M.O. its terrible why on earth is that related/aimed at Derek? It should be put in reception for the The Branning family. MayhemMario 21:58, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'd say that "terrible" is a little strong. While the original comment was aimed at the Branning siblings in general, she did mention Derek and it was said she watched his return to the show, so it does relate to Derek.RaintheOne BAM 22:15, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well done for the article George, but I also agree that Forman's opinion of Derek is not reception. It is not how the character has been received. It is Forman discussing who the character is.GunGagdinMoan 00:00, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh right. Well that is good enough for me, no one else can argue on the verifiability level because as you said there is no official announcement of a departure. How come you are adding the template you created - but eliminating other external links... Why?RaintheOne BAM 21:26, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because, only official character profiles should be placed on the article. What use are other fan sites with character profiles? It's like linking to another wiki really. GSorbyPing! 21:28, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Holy Soap, What's on TV and STV are not fansites.RaintheOne BAM 21:35, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OSE ;) - JuneGloom Talk 21:45, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No one edits Emmerdale apart from JG. Maybe EastEnders built a consensus not use them. If I applied your other stuff chain of thought - I would add HolySoap profiles to EE pages ... because Neighbours, H&A and Hollyoaks link to those.RaintheOne BAM 21:51, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps we can raise a discussion at the WP:EE? It may be an idea. GSorbyPing! 22:08, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How will that solve the Corrie links. I assume you mean to add more links for EE pages? I swear EE deal the elitist drug. If they are not hogging Inside Soap, grabbing every review or winning every soap award they are defining soap articles.RaintheOne BAM 22:21, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, anything. Thanks, you're a star. GSorbyPing! 22:25, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it did happen. But, whether something happens or not is not sufficient reason for including it in Wikipedia. Is the series of events reported in secondary sources? Boring and tedious.[edit]

I don't get why you insist on reverting my changes? It was NEVER announced on 13 November 2011 that David Wicks would return to EastEnders on New Year's Day; it just said that he'd be returning for Pat's departure storyline. It was hardly a major alteration was it, and I think once again, it's just being pretentious to revert it. JackJackUK (talk) 20:57, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And? What am I supposed to say? I've got quite an addictive nature to EastEnders and I know what's right and what's wrong. GSorbyPing! 21:39, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're not the only person who edits that page though, so why should you be superior over everyone else? It's just ignorance.JackJackUK (talk) 17:41, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you are right about the it being announced on the 13, just pull the source up and move on. You are being quite confronting Jack. It does not help you coming here and calling GSorby: boring, tedious, pretentious, said he acts superior and is ingorant.RaintheOne BAM 19:22, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, there are many ways which you could have discussed this without using them words, whilst still getting your point across. Calm down, its Christmas! :D MayhemMario 19:25, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Where have I called him boring, tedious or ignorant? The use of boring and tedious was used to reflect his actions whereby he's constantly reverting my changes, I haven't said he's boring nor tedious, and neither have I called him ignorant: his actions reflect ignorance, doesn't mean he is ignorant so I don't buy those arguments. JackJackUK (talk) 18:48, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Merry Christmas! :-) GSorbyPing! 18:49, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I do not understand what you gain from claiming you did not say those things - when they are clear to see for everyone... You just admitted you called his actions "Boring and tedious" which is directed at him. You clearly said "It's just ignorance" and "it's just being pretentious to revert it". You labelled GSorby's actions as "ignorance".. Personally I'd save up those pennies and get buying. ;)RaintheOne BAM 19:05, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Have you read what I put? Once again, I never said I didn't say those things, I said I didn't call him those things, I called what he said those things, and there clearly is a difference. If I say what someone does is boring and tedious, it does not mean they personally are boring and tedious does it? We've all been arrogant, ignorant and whatever so stop trying to put words into my mouth which I'm clearly not trying to portray. JackJackUK (talk) 20:34, 25 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think the previous one was better though, and I would like you to add that one back if that's alright with. The current one is quite ugly, and the lighting is so dark and terrible. The previous version went into proper depth into character, giving him that mysterious atmosphere. I hope you take this in mind and put my point into view. TrebleSeven (talk) 16:53, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This image really suits the character. The previous one showed him smiling and in the pub. In the current version, he is face on to the camera. That one is fine. GSorbyPing! 17:39, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There should have been two separate images of David Wicks rather than upgrades; however, an update may be fine. Why did you go all trouble to replace File:Wendy Richard Pauline Fowler BBC 2006.jpg with File:Pauline Fowler.jpg? Both are currently discussed in WP:Non-free content review, yet mine is orphaned and ready for deletion in several days. I asked you for your opinion in the talk page to insert my image into Pauline Fowler, and I was not notified about the Pauline Fowler that you have upgraded. You did not ask me whether you can do your own work of the photo; you went bold without my approval. Hi[edit]

Hey, i've got a bit of a query that I need to sort out and thought you might be able to help. You know how in EE, Mercy first appeared in E20 and it was later announced that she would join EE? Well her first appearance in her infobox is her first appearance in EE rather than E20.. so, the character of Lynsey in Hollyoaks is the same as Mercy as she first appeared in Hollyoaks Later in 2008 then in 2010 it was announced that she would join Hollyoaks full time, so what would be the first appearance date the one from Hollyoaks later or actually Hollyoaks as there has been some debate about this. I would be grateful for your help, thank you. :)--AcidBrights (talk) 13:44, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If Hollyoaks Later is a spin-off, then the first appearance date should be the 2010 one because that is when she joined the actual regular cast. Change it to 2010 and keep Hollyoaks Later in the spin-off appearances :-) GSorbyPing 15:38, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for this! :) How are you btw, we haven't spoke in ages, hows your wiki editing going?--AcidBrights (talk) 15:54, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Going great thanks! I've been putting my sweat and blood into Yusef Khan which is one of my best articles! Glad to hear from you :-) GSorbyPing 15:55, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah Yusef's article is really good.--AcidBrights (talk) 16:50, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering if you could ask me another question, sorry for this. :) But, which do you think sounds better: She made her first on-screen appearance on OR The character made her first appearance in the episode broadcast on ? It would really help me because I read a previous discussion which said that have two on's in the sentence did not seem to flow?--AcidBrights (talk) 20:08, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I usually put "The character made her first appearance on 7 January 2011." Just sounds a bit better when you say it :-) GSorbyPing 20:49, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help I really appreciate it. :)--AcidBrights (talk) 20:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Let me know if you need any other help. GSorbyPing 20:58, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers[edit]

I know we haven't really seen eye-to-eye recently or anything lol, but thanks for sorting that Daybreak thing and apologies for my actions in the past. New year, new start I guess. JackJackUK (talk) 20:30, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. I saw your query on Raintheone's talk page and I wasn't busy so I fixed it for you :-) GSorbyPing 20:49, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. Also, would this source from Unreality TV confirm David Wicks's departure? http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/eastenders-carol-jackson-to-leave-walford-with-david-wicks/. Not too sure. JackJackUK (talk) 21:06, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We've always never trusted Unreality TV as a source. We never use them for departures as we've had some false info from that website previously, so it's considered an unreliable source. It's best to wait until something like Digital Spy or The Mirror reports it. GSorbyPing 21:14, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, cheers for that. JackJackUK (talk) 21:33, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not again..... :/[edit]

GSorby, youve done it again! I've already created a sandbox article for Rose, im sorry but this is getting rather annoying.. Also you never replied to 'Lydia', im guessing you wouldnt.. :/ MayhemMario 16:28, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have time to search your sandboxes and quite frankly, you weren't going to work on it anyway, just because you create a sandbox, doesn't mean that it's reserved for only you. You last edited it on 15 November so it was quite a while ago and all you've done is copy the section over. If you can find a rule in the Manual of Style or the Help contents that forbids other users from creating a sandbox if another one is under development then I will remove it and apologize. Other than that, there's no rule. GSorbyPing 18:02, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that sounded a bit blunt but in the future, I will check if you have already created a sandbox :-) GSorbyPing 18:10, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Rather than presuming that I am not going to edit the article again, try to ask me on my talk page. TBH, GSorby, you have a lot on your plate ATM, Greg (splitting), Afia, Derek, expanding Tyler, Pooja, Anthony GA, Ray, Julie, Cora, Lydia, Eva, expanding Pat and Tanya, Branning Week, Faith, Will M, Sylvia, Talking to myself.... so thats why I created Rose, so a) You woudlnt have more on your plate b) Because youve nabbed all the other 'splittable' articles!!! As per your request, I have restored this article. I will restore the page history to your user page in a bit. Simon Wicks[edit]

Because Simon appeared for about thirty seconds, naturally someone thought his article needed a new image. I'm against putting it in the infobox, since it doesn't represent his time on the show, so I've moved it to the departure section. I was wondering if you could lighten it though as it's very dark - File:Simon Wicks 2012.jpg? - JuneGloom Talk 21:16, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How's that? Tbh, I wasn't gonna bother with a new image, but I re-captured it in better quality but he was a bit far away from the camera to get the crystal clear quality I usually do. But yes, I think all is OK now. GSorbyPing 21:43, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It looks much better, thanks. I think the Daily Mail had the same idea as their images are lightened too - [18]. - JuneGloom Talk 00:27, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Corrie[edit]

Hey, there's a bit of a problem with some Corrie articles. Characters that were introduced in 2001 were introduced by Jane Macnaught, however people are changing it to Jane MacNaught, which is incorrect and basically the wrong spelling. Is there anything that could be done to stop it? Thanks :)--AcidBrights (talk) 16:48, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey did you get this message?--AcidBrights (talk) 18:13, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

you tagged this template, but it was never added at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2011_December_31#Coronation_Street_Templates, so it was never deleted. you could probably just get the admin to delete it citing that discussion. Frietjes (talk) 23:33, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly think that the main image on the Liam Butcher article should be updated. He hardly looks like that anymore, and has changed a lot since '08. I hope you find a new image and reply to me on mine or your's talkpage. TrebleSeven (talk) 16:32, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Tyler Picture[edit]

Please could i upload a new picture of tyler moon on his page because i have been trying to upload it but it just goes back to the old picture if not then could you do it?.

New image is not necessary. The current one is fine. GSorbyPing 20:32, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well i think he needs a new one because every other one has a screen captured picture which i think is better. This is the one i wanted to upload: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tyler_Moon.jpg
1) That promotional photo that he currently has is fine and the non-free media rationale is suited to that picture and 2) You've uploaded a bad quality image to Wikimedia Commons and non-free images are not allowed on Commons and 3) That image is of way to high resolution. The promotional photograph is fine. GSorbyPing 20:43, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Aaron, I've just tagged the Commons picture for speedy deletion, because only the BBC can release stills from EastEnders into the public domain under a free licence. On a more minor point, George, the current Tyler image needs the source you found it at (unless you're a photographer for the Beeb now, in which case I'm very jealous of your career :p). Frickative 20:47, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here to annoy you probably. lol I didn't like the old one because it was too glam. I think she looks like a tramp in this one so thats good, but can you zoom her out, like use the top of her head and a bit of background at both sides. Big problem. That's the entire screen. I can make it wider though if you like, or I could just wait until later and see if I can get a Skanky McDonald shot before she leaves that has her whole head in it? GSorbyPing 01:08, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Watermarked ITV's work aye :P Haven't you got any watermarking removal stuff, is thats easier? But yeah you could try and get another if not.Rain the 1 01:20, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rv... do you ever listen?[edit]

Hi, Im guessing this was aimed at me, what im trying to say is:

We never link Devon Higgs right? As it just redirects back to the character- So for example when writing Morgan Jackson King (Devon Higgs), you might aswell be putting Morgan twice as they both link to the same thing. Thats why we dont link Ben (Pascoe), Anthony (Lapinskas) or Tyler (Discipline). We can always say "link them as the article will be created", but if we keep saying this, were not going to have any guidelines. Do you get me? MayhemMario 20:42, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. Leave the links, especially red ones. What if someone clicks on it and thinks "oh a redirect, I guess I'll make this"? At least if they are redlinked or redirected then it's easier for people. MOS:TV if you're that bothered... GSorbyPing 20:45, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, dear ive must have not explained it very well then. Matt Lapinskas is not a red link. Neither is any of the others. They are redirects redirecting back to the character article, so when writing for example Shenice Quinn (Lily Harvey), it might aswell be Shenice Quinn (Shenice Quinn). There is no point of having two links to the same article. I think other users would agree with me, (hope!), and also when they type in Lily Harvey (as it is not linked in the main article), they'll see it is a redirect. Made more sense? MayhemMario 20:49, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Again What if someone clicks on it and thinks "oh a redirect, I guess I'll make this"? At least if they are redlinked or redirected then it's easier for people. GSorbyPing 20:52, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Clicks on what they'll be nothing to click on if it isnt linked!!!!! MayhemMario 20:54, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My point exactly. People are less likely to create the page if it isn't linked. They might only notice the page doesn't exist if a redlink shows or the redirect isn't linked. Basic stuff here. GSorbyPing 21:00, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was asked for my opinion - so - I agree with what George says aslong as the actor is notable and no one got around to creating the article as of yet. I would say it is pointless for a nobody child actor though.Rain the 1 20:59, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Note.[edit]

Please, when making comments like this could you ask them on my talk page, rather than in the edit summary. Also I did this per a discussion you were involved in here. And it seems your use of the word "commandeering" is wrong. Now I dont want to start a petty squable over this, so remember, were working together, so dont try and go against this by calling your colleagues uneccessary words. Thanks. MayhemMario 17:16, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First point, that discussion does not mention Rainie whatsoever. And second, don't get smart with me, commandeering was the right word and it means to take control of something. I'm sure the definition will help you a bit. And colleagues? Please. This is Wikipedia not a workplace. You do commandeer everything. Just because plot summary in the lead section of the article annoys you, you think you own the place and just remove it. Where's the discussion? I'll tell you something now, you need to get a grip and do things properly. If you need help, I'm sure you can find it at the Help:Contents. GSorbyPing 17:38, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Look. I may not have the best of experience on here, aswell as not being a member as long, but I do know a thing or too. Please do not hold a grudge. Once you submitt your article into the userspace we can edit it how we like. Im not commanding around, im making the article better. Colleague. MayhemMario 18:09, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mario, some important storyline information is more than welcome in the lead. I do not recall it being discussed anywhere either. You just removed the whole thing - the lead is meant to be a summary of important information from the article. I think you removed some of that. When removing information we are advised to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. As for the arguement itself, the one above, nothing good can come of it.Rain the 1 03:19, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted the plot from the lead on say Lydia, as it explained the plot before you had even read the seperate section, the same with Cora and her candlesticks, I think plot is more suited to characters who have had more storylines. What im trying to say GSorby, is to start afresh, so there is no bad feelings. MayhemMario 12:23, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What's with all this formal tone? You used to make loads of typos and use a lot of punctuation such as !!?!?!??!?!??! and a lot of smilies. I'm just curious lol GSorbyPing 12:27, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I dont knwo whta your taklign abotu!!!!!!?!??!?!?! :) MayhemMario 12:31, 4 February 2012 (UTC) No, seriously, I hadnt noticed. -.-[reply]

Frank Foster[edit]

Just wondering if you had a look at the info already in the departure section before you made this edit - [21]? I had already added the info about his exit storyline and what you've just put there is pretty much the same information only with DS reporting on it. - JuneGloom Talk 00:14, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's okay - [22]. I probably should have put in a paragraph break, so the information was a little clearer. I like the new image, it's much better than the previous one where he appears to have been beaten up. I think once I've finished Lewis' article, I'll see if I can improve Frank's some more. I've already added the casting and departure sections, might as well finish the job! - JuneGloom Talk 00:30, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Corrie[edit]

Hey, one of my current projects is completely revamping Leanne Battersby's article (see here: User:AcidBrights/Sandbox7) and I was wondering if you could help me with something. Should the stuff on Leanne's affair with Nick in 2010 go under her relationship with Nick Tilsley section or her relationship with Peter Barlow section? I'm a bit stumped on which way to do it.--AcidBrights (talk) 15:43, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another question should Leanne's duration be: 1997–2000, 2004–06, 2007— because she took maternity leave in 2006 and return in 2007, or should it just be: 1997–2000, 2004— (e.g. 1997–2000 (original stint), 2004— (official return))--AcidBrights (talk) 16:41, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Anything?--AcidBrights (talk) 08:34, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As for the relationship with Nick, you can put that under a section of his own bearing in mind if it has enough text say, at least a paragraph. And the duration shouldn't count any short breaks so yes, the duration should be 1997–2000, 2004— :) GSorbyPing 09:48, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, so should I not have that steve frost (2007) when she returned after maternity leave?--AcidBrights (talk) 11:30, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping with the article :)--AcidBrights (talk) 12:49, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose you could add Steve Frost if there is enough external info and refs. And not a problem :) GSorbyPing 13:02, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much they look amazing you have done a great job! Thanks for the compliment. :)--AcidBrights (talk) 22:35, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem at all. If you need help, then I will be more than happy to assist you :-) GSorbyPing 22:42, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well I was wondering, do you fancy collaborating on Leanne's article in my sandbox? I've gathered loads of refs so far and theres probably more out there. You don't have to collab if you don't want too, just thought it may be a good idea, we could try and get it to GA if we kind of we were each designated sections to do?--AcidBrights (talk) 22:58, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I would love to help :-) Maybe I could sort out the storylines and all the navboxes. I would also be happy to sort out the casting and personality sections while you can sort out the development? I can do the lead as well :-) GSorbyPing 23:07, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that would be great, and i'm sure we can throw our opinions back and fourth if we want something changed etc, don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like any of my work, I would rather know. :)--AcidBrights (talk) 23:17, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, the character creation section you have created is brilliant! Do you think my writing is okay or not?--AcidBrights (talk) 01:13, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, Jane Danson took maternity leave in 2009 aswell, returning in the same year.--AcidBrights (talk) 13:42, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA[edit]

Hey there GSorby. I guess your RFA is not going well. I'm leaving a note out here to tell you that you shouldn't take this to heart or anything like that. I do realize that you mean well in attempting to contribute more towards the project through administration. But many a time, an RfA applicant might not be able to understand what the community expects of prospective administrators. I feel that's the situation in your case. May I comment at this juncture that I'll be more than pleased to guide you in the future on how you should go about understanding the various facets of administration? This talk page note is also intended to be my personal !vote of confidence in you and the fact that you can in the future become an administrator, but only if you really wish to. Again, let this current RfA not put you down. Every edit that you make for the betterment of this project is highly appreciated by all of us. Kind regards. Wifione Message 14:24, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. It doesn't bother me at all, as this RfA is my best so far. I guess I can try again next year. GSorbyPing 14:54, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello GSorby, I just wanted to let you know that I have SNOW closed Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/GSorby 4 as unsuccessful. You may wish to read this essay, as it offers advice that you may find helpful. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 17:27, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Awww I was going to vote Support but they closed your RfA! We need more content contributing admins. Better luck next time. --Surturz (talk) 11:43, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@Surturz: Your question about a term limit and then opposing because candidates don't agree to it is ridiculus. I have been following your RfA contributions all the way up to Ks0stm's RfA and this is just, I repeat, ridiculous. I'm not telling you how you should vote or ask questions but, you have encountered resistance and opposition from other editors about your vote based off only the question you ask. No candidate I know that has worked hard is going to apply for adminship just to retire from it after a year or two. This user is allowed to retain it as long as the community still trusts this user or is abusing the tools. As I am also told, asking more than 2 questions can be quite disruptive. You may wish to limit your questions.

@GSorby: Better luck next time. You may wish to stay away from an RfA for a year or get adopted by a user to help you out. Keep up the good work editing though.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 515,376,624) 22:25, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberpower678, I don't think GSorby's talk page is a good place to discuss Surturz's questions, and besides, Surturz was merely leaving a friendly note here. GSorby, I hope you won't be discouraged by the outcome of the RfA: keep up the good work you do. Best. Acalamari 23:13, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yea you're right. That was something I wanted to bring up a while ago.—cyberpower (Chat)(WP Edits: 515,425,632) 03:48, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cora[edit]

Ref 14 - Cora Cross - Why is the issue number and date not included in the reference???Rain the 1 17:16, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because I didn't know the issue number and I forgot the date. GSorbyPing 12:17, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yups, I hunted the mag down and also added some other reception bits I found. They were just bits really, so it was quicker than scanning.Rain the 1 12:54, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Moon GA[edit]

As you have seen from my edit to Anthony, I have decreased it a lot. Some of the information was stupid, some if it was just to quote(ish), so I cancelled it down a lot. Im not sure if Anthony is GA material yet, I hope you get a good reviewer. I've made the sandbox User:MayhemMario/sandbox:Anthony Moon which has the edit to Anthony (the one you reverted), aswell as some more information, on Amira, Derek, ect. This looks better. I've done a few changes aswell, the plot is clearer. Here are just a few things I found:

  • I think one reference was listed as 'Hachette' instead of 'Hearst'.
  • NEVER call Bryan Kirkwood 'Bryan', always mention him by his last name.
  • You could try and ask June for the Inside Soap interview, rather than sourcing it from MSN.
  • Again, Walford Web not a great source, its reporting on something from Radio Times.
  • Theres no need to have Bryan Kirkwood listed as EP in every plot reference.
  • Some webistes are not linked, RTE is an example.
  • The plot is and isnt soruced.
  • Link all people, in plot, Eddie, Tyler, Michael.
  • Craig is in the lead (may have been me), but not metioned in plot, is he neccesary?
  • Spencer Moon, listed under relatives, important?

I know it look like a PR now, but these are ones which a reviewer may not pick up on, as there more 'EastEnderish'. Hope I helped. MayhemMario 13:27, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew Cotton[edit]

Hello GSorby. As Andrew is one of the regular characters of EastEnders, and perhaps a villain, I think he should get his own page with a picture of him. He has a storyline now, just having him in List of EastEnders characters (2011) just doesn't seem that right to me. TrebleSeven (talk) 20:14, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on a draft for Andrew and Rose in my userarea. Once they're ready I will split them. GSorbyPing 21:39, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Tyler Moon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page This Morning (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Quotes[edit]

Hey G. I've noticed you're using a lot of quotes in the articles you edit (Anthony Moon caught my eye in particular). Quotes are good, especially when they explain things better than you or I could. However, using too much copyrighted text is prohibited and more often than not the text can be paraphrased and improved. I probably use a lot of quotes in my edits too, in fact I think it was brought up once in a GA, so I'm also learning not to add so many. The temptation is there though, especially when actors talk non-stop about a particular storyline. I found the WP:QUOTEFARM essay a really useful read. Thank you for the new Lewis image, btw. I was thinking of asking for a new one that didn't just show one side of his face. - JuneGloom Talk 20:25, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Politely acknowledged. Thanks for pointing that out and no problem for Lewis :-) GSorbyPing 21:39, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was just curious as to why you've added Lewis Archer to your list of expanded articles? Or is that section for any articles you've edited? - JuneGloom Talk 21:47, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I dunno :L That was weird, maybe I automatically added him when I was expanding Audrey. Thanks for pointing that out. GSorbyPing 22:10, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've just looked at AcidBright's sandbox for Leanne, which you have edited quite a bit... what is with all the block quotes?Rain the 1 21:26, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Dunno, they just look nice and plus it saves having to write out key quotes. GSorbyPing 21:31, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I mean btw

"columnist Grace Dent commented on Danson's decision to return to the show in 2007 saying: "so Leanne Battersby's back on Coronation Street, again. We knew Leanne would come back. She's played by Jane Danson, one of those rare thesps who knows which side her bread's buttered on. With excellent wages, regular hours and maximum TV exposure you'd imagine most actors would kill to be a soap opera staple."

"Speaking to Inside Soap about the plot, Danson commented: "Leanne has never really given her birth mother a second thought because she's not been in her life. Her dad Les and stepmum Janice were together for a long time, so Janice always took on that mother role. Having said that, Leanne's always known Janice by her first name, so she hasn't called anyone 'Mummy'." Asked how Leanne reacts to the discovery, Danson added: "You'll have to wait and see! She'll either be over the moon to have her real mother in her life, or she'll be absolutely furious that she's been absent all these years."

Leanne decides to stir up as much trouble as she can. I've got a few explosive scenes with Adam and Samia... great shouting and screaming catfights in the Rovers and down the cobbles. I don't think she loves Nick any more. There's maybe a spark for all of 20 seconds but it soon passes and she remembers what he's like. Leanne's just meddling with his mind. It feels really nice to be part of the cast again, although it took a few weeks to get bedded in. Now it's like I've never been away

Danson commented on her return: They're having a ball in this really seedy bar, eyeing up the ladies. Les spots Leanne from behind and says, 'Wow look at that'. She turns round and he realises to his horror it's his daughter. Les shouts, 'What are you doing here?' But Leanne is wondering exactly the same about him. Of course, Patrick doesn't realise it's Les's daughter. He gropes Leanne's bum and she gives him a good wallop. It causes such a commotion they all get chucked out and Leanne is sacked. She also lived in a room above the bar and suddenly has nowhere to stay. So Les offers to take her home to No.5

Danson said she found it hard to work on Coronation Street as her 10-month-old son Harry was asleep before she left and was in bed upon finishing filming.[1] Danson commented: "As much as I love my job I miss Harry incredibly," she admits. "He's happy, he's with his dad and he's absolutely fine, but I feel I'm being pulled in two directions and not giving 100 per cent to anybody. I feel completely torn. I need to work and to provide for Harry, but I also feel terribly guilty that I'm not there. I pine for him and feel this need to be with him constantly. With Leanne's current storyline I'm working long days. Harry wakes up at 7am but I leave the house about 6.30am and when I get home he's usually gone to bed. But I'm not on my own - a lot of the cast have got kids and they tell me it does get easier. I ache for him sometimes, but I think I would be forever kicking myself if I hadn't come back to work. I love being in Coronation Street. I've worked really hard to get this far and this is Harry's future too."[1] When Danson was presented with her return scripts, she was shocked to see that she was returning as a escort girl.[1] Danson added: "I'm not going to pretend that initially thought it was great. Coronation Street has never done a story like that before and I was worried people wouldn't like it. When I read the scripts I thought it just was a funny storyline - Leanne was charging people for her company while they took her out for a slap-up dinner. But when it turned out she carried on after dinner, I thought, 'Oh God!' "Thankfully it's not been seedy and I think she will redeem herself in the end."[1] A Coronation Street insider added: "Soon after arriving back Leanne wonders what the hell she has come back to. There are some cracking storylines lined up for her."

|I suppose it's an open book at the moment. I'd quite like to see Maria and Nick get together. It'll be interesting because working with Adam was lovely. We were really close at the time. He's abroad now so I wonder whether they'll go for someone very similar looking or if they'll go completely in a new direction. I don't think it really matters. Viewers get used to new actors and they accept them. It'll be interesting to see which way they go.|4=Danson explains the potential of Nick's return.

Nick started with Tina, then he moved to Kelly. I'm getting through the whole of the Street, I'll be on to Rita by the end of the year!" [2] Price added that he is expecting a storyline to develop between Nick and Leanne.[2] He added: "You'll see him bump into Leanne soon. I'm sure stuff will come out of that - there's a story there."[2] Asked whether if he wants to see Leanne and Nick to get back together, Price said: "There'd have to be a big journey to get to that point, but yeah, I would. But who knows? I don't know how it's going to go! But I think that would be great. But I think it could also be great if there's someone else on the Street who could come into his life. It's nice to keep spicing things up, really."Rain the 1 21:36, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Why do you think that (small amount of your quote additions) is acceptable?Rain the 1 21:44, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How do you mean acceptable? GSorbyPing 21:46, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Copyrighted material being copy and pasted over. There is a massive problem with plagiarism on Wikipedia atm - this is a step above it. We are advised to paraphrase, cut things downs etc, go after the most important parts... From an editing point of view, it is not really telling the story either. It is just Danson said, Danson added, Danson also added, Danson also added to.Rain the 1 21:52, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I see your point. JuneGloom brought this up with me last week. I wasn't aware of any plagiarism issues but from now on, I will cut down and use only important parts from sources and paraphrase them if possible, even if it is tempting to cut and paste a juicy quote. Derek B Quote.[edit]

Hi, you know the Derek Branning quote you just uploaded? The one about him beign in a coat, hat, etc, you could upload an image for that. :) MayhemMario 19:36, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I guess so, but we already have two non-free images on that page. Maybe we could remove the image of Beesley and then upload it. I'll ask around first. GSorbyPing 20:02, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yup June's right, it would be the undo tool which is exactly what I did. What I've been wondering tonight though is since when we've had a Josh Pascoe on the show! Not aware of any name change for the actor haha!--5 albert square (talk) 23:51, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Nick Cotton (1985).jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Nick Cotton (1985).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. George Ho (talk) 00:31, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Nick Cotton (1985).jpg[edit]

Um... excuse me, but why would you want to upload a newer version to this page? For historical purposes, there is no need to remove it from your watchlist if deleted. For example, the new version was uploaded into File:Cheers cast 1982 bw.jpg by someone else for the Cheers article, and I did not accept that and then reverted that because I don't like someone intruding my image page of a non-free image. Therefore, it evolved into File:Cheerscast1982fullcastwendtratz.jpg, while the other was orphaned and then deleted. Meanwhile, I still have "File:Cheers cast 1982 bw.jpg" in my watchlist. Maybe you should not remove it from your watchlist; instead, if concerned, go to WP:REFUND if an image may be deleted and if you save a name in your watchlist. --George Ho (talk) 05:34, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I knew this would be a repeat of "Pauline Fowler" image debate in case of a living person. To be honest, that page treats this image as if it were of a mere fictional character; my page treats a "real person" fairly and rationalizes a fair use of the living person. You talk history, but I don't know why history of an image page is that important. Wait... don't try WP:NFR; that page is almost deadbeat. --George Ho (talk) 20:04, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, as your online, does this image have the right rationale, etc? MayhemMario 16:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That rationale is weak, but it's good enough. Are you sure it qualifies for WP:NFCC#8? GSorbyPing 17:55, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Umm... I thin it does, throught the critical commentary. Oh, and lol MayhemMario 20:37, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lorraine[edit]

Trying to not to sound mean, im not sure if Lorraine should have her own article just yet. She has only appeared in 4 episode prior to her return, then a few up untill next week, then later in the year. But, if the character has notablity then I guess her article can be made. Just a heads up, just do not want Wikipedia to be a fansite. I hope I have not offended you in any way, this was not a moan! MayhemMario 16:36, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion review for File:Simon Wicks 2012.jpg[edit]

I have asked for a deletion review of File:Simon Wicks 2012.jpg. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. --George Ho (talk) 12:30, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures of Den Watts and Simon Wicks[edit]

I don't want a repeat of Pauline Fowler and Nick Cotton; I just still wish that images of living people should not be treated as images of mere fictional characters nowadays, and I still hope that replacing image page with another image page is more acceptable, as previous file revisions are orphaned and then deleted. If I give this link (http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/nick-berry-eastenders-return-mirrorcouks-172350), and you only upload it in a same page rather than a new page, there's no turning back, and my plans to replace your images with different pages will go to waste, and my talents.... I don't know. --George Ho (talk) 11:21, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I really think the main image to this article needs changing. She's got a different haircut now, just like Tamwar's got new glasses. It's funny how the characters change over the four-day schedule. 777 — 20:51, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
