No, you don't have to pay - see Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User if you want a human mentor. There is also the WP:Tutorial which you can work through by yourself. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:21, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You place collens marks to reply or start a new line. That will keep the page more organized. Xavier The Second (talk) 17:35, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Xavier The Second[edit]

Sure. I won't bother you anymore but if you need help fell free to contact me. :) Xavier The Second (talk) 17:38, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

k, ty. appreciated this. --BoardsofCanadaDawnChorus (talk) 17:39, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you may be a bit unclear as to what this site is about. It isn't a social networking site and your talk page is intended to be used for communication with other editors on matters pertainng to Wikipedia. Xavier generously offered his assistance; there was no need to post the above comment. Also, please do not write in internet shorthand. WP:NOT can explain further. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:01, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Xavier is a bit new, but he means well. I and some of the other users who responded are more experienced. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:03, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did i do something wrong? --BoardsofCanadaDawnChorus (talk) 18:07, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, a bit when you asked him to leave you alone. He wasn't trying to be mean and I'm not sure you understand what this site is. What would you like to do here? I and others can help guide you if we know what your goals are. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:10, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reading articles, thats 1 thing, and 2 looking for help with creating stubs. --BoardsofCanadaDawnChorus (talk) 18:17, 10 January 2010 (UTC) ohh and i wasnt being mean to xavier he was just getting to me a little bit too much u see pm i have skitzopherenia. so it sux really. i have bad impluses. in typing etc. life in general really, i havent been outside in the real world for more than 2 months now. --BoardsofCanadaDawnChorus (talk) 18:17, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Doesn't sound like too much fun; here's hoping we can be of some help. Let's begin with some tutoring. Rather than create a new article, think of a subject you're interested in, look up the article and check it for inaccuracies and possible vandalism. Make the necessary changes and describe them in the edit summary. This way, you can study an existing article and see just how it's supposed to be laid out. A lot of first articles are often deleted without warning, mostly due to lack of content, lack of notability or for just being nonsense. When you're ready for that first article, go to Wikipedia:Article wizard 2.0 and follow the directions. Essentially, this is a template which is laid out in the site's style. All you do is to fill in the blanks. Remember too that notability of the subject is important; the fact something exists doesn't mean it's eligible for an article. The street I live on exists, but is not eligible for an article. Neither is my cat.  :) Hoping this helps. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 20:17, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
