This must pertain to the David Watson (coach)‎ article. There's nothing here that is defamation or WP:Libel because, as you must very well know, the truth is an absolute defense. I think I understand the confusion now: The LA Times archives for September 7, 2008 are totally down, however I was fortunately able to find a copy of the article at a different source. While it is true the WP:BLP restricts reckless, wrong information or an article that uses legitimate sources for an obvious hatchet job, this article is neither. As BLP notes: "Controversial material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately": A solid article from the LA Times does not apply; especially now that the active link was restored. --Bobak (talk) 15:43, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Coeur d'Alene Resort

I noticed you took the photo for the resort. I was wondering if you'd be interested in rewriting the article? I stumbled across it today and it's a rather nauseating puff piece. I googled the user name "Blenihan" (the person who added all the crap) and quickly came up with results for "Brendan Lenihan," aka the director of operations for the resort. As you know, this is clearly against Wikipedia's policies. I think it's a notable enough place, though, so I was wondering if you'd look into making it read less like a brochure pamphlet and more like an encyclopedia article. I can ask Mr. Lenihan's assistance as well and get him to comply with our policies...but I don't know if he'd really care about doing that. Let me know what you think. Mike H. Yeah, I had to stifle a laugh as I was reading it. The section about the 30 awards and what flowers are on the golf course were my favorite parts. Clearly the person had never read anything on Wikipedia before and thought it was a cheap way to get the resort some publicity. I'm sure it's a nice place and all, but Jesus. Mike H. WP:ATH

Hi. I think there is a needs for additional clauses in WP:ATH that specifically apply to American college sports. The state of college sports in the U.S., particularly football and men's basketball, is such a special circumstance compared with other nations (fanbase, economics, marketing, etc.) that it warrants a special provision. It is equally clear that blanket criteria are not going to mesh well between U.S. sports and others (association football, for instance). There is a lot of ambiguity with WP:ATH the way things stand. Chimp attack article

Hey, nice work getting a solid piece on Travis (chimpanzee) posted so quickly. I was sure an article was forthcoming, which prompted me to set up a bunch of new sub-cats of Category:Apes, including the one for Famous chimpanzees -- and just in the nick of time, as you added your article about 3 hours later! (I just added the article to Category:Animal attacks.)

I noticed you have a USC connection, so I couldn't help wondering if you were aware of a very similar attack which took place in So. Calif. about 1-2 years ago, where the victim's face was also ripped off (as well as fingers and genitals). Judging by the national tv news reports, that incident is unknown to East coast reporters, as it hasn't been mentioned at all that I know of. Cgingold (talk) 21:47, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Claim of OR in 1941 (film)

Three pages in the Culhane book are devoted to the special effect editing and photography which validates the original statement. The book details the landmark special effects and "movie magic" and specifically refers to the 1941 (film) as an example of Sfx at its best. You may have been confused over the use of a quote as the source of the statement that was in question. The quote was put in for an entirely different reason as there was some contention in talk and edit comments that the film was not carefully produced and although it was not a well-received product, it was a good example of production values especially in harnessing small-scale miniatures and composite photography. Since you decided to impose your own personal POV on this article by protecting the page after clearly removing a minor edit meant to make the article more in line with NPOV (after your own statement that the line of text that was removed there was to make a "character statement" about Proof, which obviously shows you have a personal bias when it comes to this article) I will be taking this matter up with other Wikipedia administrators. Regardless of your own feelings about Proof, your attempt to keep the article about his life from being balanced is rather disheartening and a sad statement on misuse of power on this website. It is unfortunate to see that, for the second time, you have made an unfounded conclusion about me with little to no evidence to support it. I am in no way trying to "tone down" the events surrounding his death. The issue at hand is that you are placing content into an article which serves to politicize it for no other reason than, based on your edits, the fact that you seem to have some personal issue with Proof. No one is denying that the man was a murderer, despite your claims to the otherwise, the problem is that there is no room for such bias on Wikipedia which I would assume that you, as an administrator, would already know. Your templates are unprofessional. Having a degree doesn't make you respectful. You really should learn how to be professional when you're dealing with disruptive editors. If you're overwhelmed by stupid people then log off and take a breather, don't run with it.

Congratulating an Army IP address for wasting taxpayer dollars is not considered acceptable. People in the military are entitled to say those kinds of things to each other, not you to them.
