Recent note on systemic insecticides attempts to clarify an error in Ref # 1 on sulfoxaflor. Systemic insecticides are incorporated into plant tissues making them unsuitable for food crops. (BT is the one exception I know of.) The paper's author likely meant the insecticide systemically kills the insect, i.e. affecting the entire body. Subtle, but significant difference.
