Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Bot5654", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it contains the suffix "-bot", which is generally reserved for authorized bot accounts. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 23:12, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have opened a different account under a new name and linked my ip to that account. Is there a way to archive or remove this account since a made a mistake within the name? I don't want to do anything that is improper and don't want it to look like a Sock puppet or "multiple accounts". What actions should I take on my new account to help with transparency and legitimacy? Bot5654 (talk) 01:18, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All you need to do is post a link on the two userpages associating the accounts. Instructions on how to post a link are at WP:ALTACCN, but basically:
  • With your new account, post this on the userpage for this old account: {{User alternative account | main account}}, replacing "main account" with the name of your new account.
  • Also with your new account, post this on the new account's userpage: {{User alternative account name|Bot5654}}
Then you're done, and can just go on using the new account from now. -- Euryalus (talk) 02:32, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
