Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Tiptoety talk 05:54, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Autoland, 15th August[edit]

It is encouraging to know that you were sufficiently interested in my contribution to the Autoland article to take the trouble to move the diagram. Unfortunately, the result depends on the screen resolution. The change looks OK at 1600x1024 but with my old eyes I usually use 1024x768, where as it happens the change breaks up the text in an awkward way. Unless you have a reason for the edit which I have not understood, may I please ask you to leave the diagram at the end of that section?

I have not previously used Talk and just hope this is the right way to send a message.

Kind regards

Roy Easson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roy Easson (talkcontribs) 15:21, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've centered it instead of trying to let it flow next to the text, which should work better for smaller screen widths. That article also has a lot of excessive verbosity in the historical sections and the writing style is a little atypical of wikipedia articles... I've considered adding {{tone}} on it, but didn't want to enumerate all of the specific issues. -- Bovineone (talk) 02:35, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for what appears to be a very prompt response to my message. Centering the diagram is more elegant. Unfortunately it is now in the wrong section, so I would be grateful if it could appear at the end of Sect. 2.4, where it is mentioned in the last line of the text. I suppose I could use "undo" but I would prefer to have your agreement.--Roy Easson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roy Easson (talkcontribs) 14:39, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply and for adjusting the position of the diagram. Centering it is certainly more elegant. Unfortunately it is now in the wrong section - it should be at the end of Sect 2.4 where it is referred to in the text in the last line. I would be grateful if you would make that change (I don't like to use "undo").
As for the style and so on - when I first looked at the item as it was at 17th March 2010 I did think about editing Sect. 2 to include the earlier period but abandoned that idea as too hard, so I split the existing text of Sect.2 into three subsections (in view of the exhortation about it being too long) and added Sects. 2.4 and 2.5, so a change of style was difficult to avoid.
I could try to improve 2.4 and 2.5 if you have specific issues in mind.
And I forgot ther tildes in my last message. Roy Easson (talk) 14:58, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The original reasoning for the image placement was unclear because there was no WP:CAPTION on the image to provide context, so I've improved that also. Please review WP:TPYES and avoid excessive talk sections. I've added various style improvement templates on the article to suggest ways of improving it. In general, I feel there is far too much verbosity in the historical sections and its length is far beyond what a casual reader would have the attention span to read. For example, Engine is a similarly complex topic yet it still remains accessible to a casual reader. -- Bovineone (talk) 17:07, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Intusoft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. bonadea contributions talk 09:35, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Ray Walston as Boothby.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ray Walston as Boothby.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. * Pppery * it has begun... 00:48, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
