January 2015[edit]

Hello, I'm AbigailAbernathy. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ingo Große Feltner, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. A Wild Abigail Appears! Capture me. Moves. 16:31, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you have been trying to create an article about Ingo Große Feltner. On the talk page you said that you need more time to get the article into shape. I think that is a fair request, since it was tagged for deletion very quickly. So I have removed the "speedy deletion" tag and replaced it with a "proposed deletion" tag. Proposed deletion means the article will be left in place for a week. That will give you time to expand the article. The most important thing is to provide references showing that he meets the criteria at WP:GNG and WP:Notability (people). The references have to show significant coverage ABOUT him (not just by him) from WP:Reliable sources. The coverage cannot be from Facebook or Twitter or his own web page or fan sites. It has to be from independent sources, writing about him. If you don't know how to add a reference, see Help:Referencing for beginners. If we cannot see such coverage, the article will be deleted after a week. Good luck with the article! --MelanieN (talk) 18:43, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I see that you did add material to the article, but someone deleted it all as "unreferenced". Let me explain. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; accuracy is very important. So everything said here has to be verifiable. It has to have been published somewhere; it has to be public knowledge already. Things that you know from your own personal knowledge, or that you read somewhere but don't know where, are not accepted. So again: if you can't build an article from what is already public knowledge, and provide enough independent sourcing to show that he is notable, the article cannot stay here. You might try placing an article at the German Wikipedia; I believe they are not as insistent on reference sources as the English Wikipedia is. --MelanieN (talk) 19:12, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ingo Große Feltner has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. I havent figured out yet how to insert pictures and to make the correct citing.... Most people only know the famous fiancee of Ingo Große Feltner, but this article could help to provide more information on him. He got like 140 Hardcore fans on Facebook and twitter, but is more than just a sports reporter to thousands of people in Germany and since 2014 also in Great Britain. Just give me some time. I mobilized some other fans to edit this article and help me to fill the gaps. Thank you for your patience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boygorgy (talkcontribs)

Please do read the notability guideline. If "most people" don't know about him, or only know about his fiancée, he will not qualify for an article here. Wikipedia is only for people who are ALREADY famous; it's not for "helping to provide more information" on people that aren't notable yet. If this article gets deleted - and right now I think it will - let me ask, does his fiancée have an article here? If so, a sentence or two about him could be added to her article. --MelanieN (talk) 17:09, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
