In response to your message to my talk page, it was a poor edit with advertising, and you misspelled "compete" by writing it as "compeate". This is a serious website, and if you wish to contribute, I would suggestion you review wiki policies and do so carefully and fully informed. Orphaned non-free image (File:AOL TV LOGO.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:AOL TV LOGO.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 18:49, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Hbo Canada.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hbo Canada.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 20:15, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:55, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of warning templates[edit]

Hello,

In this edit you removed a warning template from an image without responding to the warning. Per terms of our WP:NFCC fair use policy (item #10c), all images must have a fair use rationale for each use of the image. Please do not remove such warnings templates without providing a rationale. If you need help crafting one, you can see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline or seek assistance at WT:NFC. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 18:09, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Three days later, and you've still doing it. ALL non-free images must have a fair use rationale for each use of the image on Wikipedia. This is covered in policy at WT:NFCC #10c. Read it. If you need assistance in crafting a rationale, see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. If you persist in removing warning templates without fixing the problem the warning template highlights, it will be treated as vandalism potentially leading up to you being blocked from editing. I hope I've been clear. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:12, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Logoforcbs.PNG[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Logoforcbs.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 20:34, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The image was tagged as it lacked a non-free use rationale, not because it lacked copyright information. I have added one myself. In future, please add rationales to non-free images you upload, explaining how they meet our non-free content criteria. J Milburn (talk) 13:12, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image placement[edit]

Please stop adding irrelevant images such as a screenshot of the homepage of a company into articles. Additionally, your replacement of the official CBS logo with a JPEG artifact-riddled version was completely inappropriate. See the image use policy here on Wikipedia to give you an overview of what is appropriate to add into articles and what is not. Thank you. GraYoshi2x►talk 19:30, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

I am giving you a stern warning about the overall disruptiveness of your edits, made through both this account and the anon IP. Releasing images with incorrect licensing, failing to provide fair use rationales, blanking valid area codes and replacing detailed text with vague statements/all caps are all not OK. GraYoshi2x►talk 04:30, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your haphazard placement of unneeded images with still as of yet non-existent fair use rationales says otherwise. GraYoshi2x►talk 06:23, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Getallthefacts.com, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Getallthefacts.com. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Sme3 (talk) 17:15, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

URLs as titles of redirect articles[edit]

I've noticed you have created a number of articles titled as URL's (starz.com, hbo.com, sho.com, family.ca, bell.ca, just to name a few), most of which redirect to the hosting company's article (upn.com, redirecting to CBS, is an exception). Wikipedia is not an index of web sites, and "dot-com" (and similar) articles don't belong here, unless the "dot-com" is actually part of the company name (such as Hotels.com). A discussion on deleting these articles is ongoing here[1]. Please do not continue to add these types of articles. Thank you. -Sme3 (talk) 17:17, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, please don't create nonsensical redirects such as this one. Check things before you go about making random redirects. Wikipedia is a serious project and should be taken as such. GraYoshi2x►talk 17:49, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Redirects such as bell.ca --> Bell Canada are actually very useful, so please keep up the good work. I create redirects like this myself when I find one missing. --Apoc2400 (talk) 19:41, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, they are NOT okay. If you don't know anything about a Wikipedia policy, then do not encourage someone to break that very rule. GraYoshi2x►talk 18:55, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd love to see that policy (if there isn't one, there should be!)In my mind, if someone wants to see what Website.com is, they'll type it in the address bar, not in a Wikipedia search. (I also wonder if a user's talk-page is the right spot for this discussion!) -Sme3 (talk) 02:08, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I always thought that it just fell under the no-advertising rule. But if there was a clear-cut, specific rule about this, then it would definitely be great. GraYoshi2x►talk 22:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think WP:RCAT may cover it. It lists a whole bunch of reasons for redirects, none of which include use of URL's. -Sme3 (talk) 02:32, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

URL redirects[edit]

DO NOT continue to make such redirects after several users have warned you not to. Doing so may get you blocked from editing, or at least reported to the noticeboard for disruption issues. GraYoshi2x►talk 20:08, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is History of British film certificates. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of British film certificates. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
