Replaceable fair use Image:PURE_back_large.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:PURE_back_large.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 23:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 2008[edit]

Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Windows Aero. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. -/- Warren 04:43, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 01:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. It is our policy here not to tolerate edit warring here, which, I am afraid, what you were doing in the Windows Aero article qualifies as. To this end, we have the WP:3RR policy that prohibits more than 3 reverts a day. You have over-stepped the limit and can be blocked. But I am willing to assume that you weren't aware of the rule. Wikipedia works on consensus, use the talk pages to convince other editors first, if you see your edit reverted. I see you have initiated the dialogue. While you are engaged in the discussion, do not make any changes to the article. When the issue has been sorted out and an agreement reached, any changes (if needed) will be made. Till then, do not edit war, but rather communicate constructively. Otherwise you will find yourself at the wrong end of a block. Thanks, and all the best. Cheers. --soum talk 04:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Multimedia Fusion 2 interface.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Multimedia Fusion 2 interface.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
