Bellambi[edit]

Hi, I am the person that added the 'Port Bellambi' section to the Bellambi article and I saw the great work that you have done on adding the significance of the area to Aboriginal people. Too many articles on Australian towns totally ignore the previous occupation of Aboriginal people and just start at colonial settlement. So, your addition to the Bellambi article is just outstanding. I am in awe! The real reason that I am writing though is to give you a hint, the same one that another Wikipedia editor gave me when I put in my first article. I notice that you are putting in manual/basic citations when quoting newspaper articles. Thanks to the Trove website, there is a better way. If you can find the newspaper article that you want to cite in among the Trove newspaper articles, you can use its identifier to automatically generate an on-line citation. To do that, leave the cite box in 'automatic' and then drop the Trove address (only the bit up to the end of the number) into the box and it will generate if for you, and let others follow a link to the citation. For example, your citation [6] exists at this Trove page --> https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/132226118 If you drop this into an automatic citation, it will come up with ""Advertising". Illawarra Mercury (Wollongong, NSW : 1856 - 1950). 14 December 1860. p. 3. Retrieved 23 June 2019." all by itself; much easier than typing all the info in by hand and with a ready-made link to the Trove newspaper article to allow other people to read the original source. Anyway, I hope that is of use. TrimmerinWiki

Thanks for the tip - I'll change them over when I get the time. I had a couple of images that I thought would complement your section on the jetties. Feel free to shift them around if you want. Brawen (talk) 04:09, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
