Where is it?

Would a kind soul please tell me where to find the list of contributors to an article, that used to be available by clicking "edits by user"? This link no longer provides that information. What I want is the list that gives user names, no. of edits and dates of first and last edits. Where is it? Brianboulton (talk) 15:07, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Brian, Go into the page history and near the top you'll see "External tools: Revision history statistics" that's the closest that we have now. Part way down the page is the list of "Top editors". At the end of the list is a "more" link with will expand it to a much longer list. Hope this helps! - SchroCat (talk) 15:58, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, found it (wonder why the change, though?). Brianboulton (talk) 20:33, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

The Rite of Spring

There's another Wiki-bash coming up at the Royal Opera House at the end of the month, and one of the ballets proposed for attention is Kenneth MacMillan's 1962 Royal Ballet version of the Rite. As you strove so mightily with the host of Midian on the main article, the last thing you want is to come under friendly fire from an ally, and so I'm after your approval of my suggested approach, viz to create an entirely new article called "The Rite of Spring (MacMillan)" with production details, reviews etc, and just blue-link to it from the main article, where it has a one-line mention already. Trying to shoehorn more details of MacMillan's efforts into the main article would be disastrous, me judice. Is my idea all right with you? Tim riley talk 17:55, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

I think it's an excellent idea that specific productions should be dealt with in detail in sub-articles—except for the premiere, which is so much part of Rite lore that it can't be skimmed over in the parent. So I will look forward your proposed article with interest. I am not wholly convinced that your proposed title is the best available; it doesn't give much information to the unaware reader. Perhaps "The Rite of Spring: MacMillan production (1962)"? Brianboulton (talk) 22:01, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Good. Point taken about the title, but it seems to be the ballet boys' and girls' standard form of title: see here and here. I created fourteen stubs yesterday in preparation for the editathon, to make it easy for non-Wipedians to get going on the day, and this will make a fifteenth. We were in the Crush Bar last year, but this séance is going to be in the Amphi restaurant. Sic transit gloria mundi! – Tim riley talk 08:07, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

The Happy Yorkshireman writes...

After a long absence, he's back begging. Jhall1 and I have been working for what seems like years on Jack Crawford (cricketer). All I can say is that Crawford isn't a Yorkshireman, I'd appreciate any comments on the talk page (no formal PR here) and favours gratefully returned if wanted. It feels choppy to me, so feel free to tear into it. I think you contributed a PR a long, long time ago, but quite a bit has been added since then. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:58, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

It's good to see you active again (I imagine you have been in deep mourning for the English teams's recent performances). I will dig out my three-year-old review of Crawford, remind myself of who he was and what he did, and add any useful comments to the talk page. Incidentally, I shall shortly be nominating Harold Larwood as WP:Today's Featured Article for 14 November – the old boy's 110th birthday. Brianboulton (talk) 22:33, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
And Jack Crawford is now at FAC here. Any further comments more than welcome! Sarastro1 (talk) 12:11, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 13

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ellen Wilkinson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daily Herald. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A pair of marquises

With Seward promoted (with your great help) so quickly, I have inserted Lafayette dollar at FAC. I had submitted Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette for MilHist A-class review (with Seward occupying my permitted PR slot) but it is slow to attract attention. Could you at some point take a glance at it? Just as it was a normal PR, it is already MilHist A-class (though probably it no longer deserved it) so no goal is being attempted other than FAC prep. Certainly no hurry, especially as I ask so much. Hope you're doing well.--Wehwalt (talk) 18:55, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

I will get to the dollar article quite quickly – I'm sure to find some old friends there. As to the biography, that will take a little longer. I've no idea what MilHist's "A" category criteria are, but as the article is en route to FAC I will do my normal FA prep job. Do you want my comments on the MilHist page? Otherwise I am doing reasonably well, though somewhat mired in my latest political article, a kind of "Daughter of Bondfield". Much reading, little fun. Brianboulton (talk) 22:59, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes, may as well place them there. That should be interesting. I had read of her more than her mother. I have been taking a bit of a break from writing having been uninspired by Horace Greeley who though very worthy of article improvement is a strange person who has left me uninspired as yet. I'm sure I'll find my way in though.--Wehwalt (talk) 04:33, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Maybe do Aaron Burr – or Agnew – while waiting for the Greeley inspiration to arrive? Naughty VPs need to be remembered in these pages. Brianboulton (talk) 17:45, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

Today's Featured Article: Notification

This is to inform you that Peter Warlock, which you nominated at WP:FAC, will appear on the Wikipedia Main Page as Today's Featured Article on 30 October 2014. The proposed main page blurb is here; you may amend if necessary. Please check for dead links and other possible faults before the appearance date. 17:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Talking to yourself again, Brian...? Thanks for doing this, once again. BencherliteTalk 17:45, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I have to (nobody else does, boo hoo!) Sadly, I need reminding of these things. Brianboulton (talk) 19:24, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
You did a great job in getting this article up to featured status, Brian! I would greatly appreciate your thoughts about my comment on the article's talk page if you have the time. Neelix (talk) 02:55, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi Brian, I've just realized that I missed this at FAC (it seems still to be open, but there's a note saying it has closed). I had wanted to support, as I enjoyed reading it. Anyway, I'm glad the FAC went well. Best, SlimVirgin (talk) 17:11, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Slim. Yes, Bondfield was promoted on 4 October, but there is a long delay in the closure process – none of the FACs promoted in October have been properly closed yet. Apparently the bot in on strike, and we are reduced to adding FA stars to our own articles, in the manner of Napoleon or Jean-Bédel Bokassa. Thanks for reminding me to do that! I am currently working on another woman politician, slightly more colourful than Miss B. – Ellen Wilkinson. It's not reviewable yet, but when it is, you might care to take a look. She really was an interesting character, died much too early. Do you have any FAC plans for FGM? Brianboulton (talk) 19:03, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
I've put Ellen Wilkinson on my watchlist; looks like another interesting one. I was on the verge of nominating FGM, but unfortunately we have a little local difficulty, so that has been delayed.
Do you happen to know whether the toolbox is down (for alt text, dead links, etc)? It was working when I last tried it maybe two weeks ago (or thereabouts) but now I just get a blank page. SlimVirgin (talk) 15:56, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
I've not tried to use these tools recently. I don't think the dead link tool has worked for ages, and I don't use alt text. I'm probably not the best person to ask – you might try User:SchroCat, who has helped me out with this sort of thing in the past. Brianboulton (talk) 18:00, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi Brian, SlimVirgin, Yeah, the link from the FL/FA/GA toolbox isn't working at the mo (I only came across the problem a few days ago), but if you go to the home page you can enter either the page title, or the URL and it'll work OK from there. Cheers – SchroCat (talk) 18:59, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi SchroCat, thanks. I can't get that page to load, but maybe it's just down temporarily. I'll try it again tomorrow. SlimVirgin (talk) 21:52, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
How odd! Try this one instead.... - SchroCat (talk) 21:58, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
SchroCat, thank you, that works for me. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:37, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ellen Wilkinson may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "<>"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Rhodes and Cardus

Thanks for that. I'm trying to trace the provenance of some of these stories; the Lupton one seems to originate with Home Gordon, but it's all been added to and distorted I think. But not to worry, it won't be appearing in any WP articles any time soon! Sarastro1 (talk) 22:49, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Gough Whitlam at TFAR

Hi Brian, you (and your talk page stalkers) may be interested in a thread I've started about Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests#Gough_Whitlam, where possibilities for marking the death (aged 98) of this former prime minister of Australia include re-running a TFA. I'm interested in getting lots of views so I'll be leaving this note on various pages (and apologies, TPS-ers, if your talk page is not one of them!)
