Rock-cut tombs[edit]

Hi Broad Wall! Re your recently-created page on rock-cut tombs, there's a similar article on sepulchres, which is very heavily biased to just one locality and it occurred to me that, rather than have two articles on quite similar themes, you might consider improving that article by including your material there. I see what you mean, and your proposed re-titling of Sepulchre seems a good idea. You can do this yourself with a simple move -- go to sepulchre and click on the "move" tab at the top of the page; this will bring up a new page, where you can enter a new name for the article and give a reason for the change. That's odd! I know that only autoconfirmed users can do page moves, but I'd have thought the number of edits you've done would have pushed you up to autoconfirmed. Hi Broadwall, I saw some wording in the article about the "Tomb of the Pharaoh's Daughter" which sounded almost 'weasel word-ish' in attributing the lack of care of the tomb to the involvement of Israeli settlers. The photo accompanying the text appears to back up the statement. However, another photo appearing here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:City_of_david2.jpg shows the tomb within a larger context. In that photo, the building next to the tomb appears to be a Palestinian home, and while there are buildings that suggest Israeli habitation in the shot, there also are buildings that appear to be in Palestinian possession. Given Silwan's unfortunate political situation, I feel it's very important to really be careful about maintaining a NPOV. Thanks! 174.70.120.166 (talk) 02:01, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hezekiah's Tunnel[edit]

It runs form Kidron to siloam pool under the City of David. Silwan was uninhabited until the early Christin monks moved into the tombs. And lay entirely on the eastern slope of the valley, farming villagers not wanting to build on the arable valley floor.Broad Wall (talk) 13:40, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
