Requests for comment[edit]

Please stop adding {{rfc}} tags to pages in User: and User talk: space - these locations are completely inappropriate. Before starting another RfC, anywhere, please read WP:RFC carefully, in particular the section Before starting the process. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:45, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Redrose64: Thank you! I followed exactly what said here to create a project page and hold an RFC. I made many attempts (Yes I've read WP:RFC) but couldn't figure out what went wrong. Could you plz help? BunbunYU (talk) 22:56, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Research recruitment is a dead proposal, and was downgraded to essay status some years ago. Its directions are no longer valid. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:01, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Thanks! That's good to know. So what's the new procedure for submitting a research proposal and getting community consent? BunbunYU (talk) 23:05, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would start off by suggesting it at WP:VPI, which after a period of discussion may give an indication for the next step, which would probably be a more formal discussion at WP:VPR (which might itself be a WP:RFC); if it's likely to be large, the RfC could have its own dedicated subpage, as with Wikipedia:Requests for comment/2020 left sidebar update and Wikipedia:Requests for comment/April Fools' 3. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:11, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Wikipedia:Research recruitment has nothing that says it is "a dead proposal" or that "its directions are no longer valid". True it has an "essay" template, but so do many live pages that we rely on on a daily basis. Please consider how the page appears to new editors and bear that in mind when raising such issues with them - or consider revising that page so its deprecated nature is more readily apparent. Pigsonthewing Something else...this account seems to be a joint account, see the text at User talk:BunbunYU/StudyingWikiCommons - "We are proposing a research project...". (I know that it dates from April 2020 but *still*...) Shearonink (talk) 07:13, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Shearonink: Thanks for your question! BunbunYu is an individual account. Here's the project page we posted on meta: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Studying_Wikimedia_Commons. "We" are BunbunYU and Dwmc. I'm the Ph.D. student working on this project and Dwmc is my faculty advisor. BunbunYU (talk) 07:26, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
