If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on T.J. Maloney requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Theopolisme (talk) 23:52, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

Hi Buttsco. Sorry for not replying to your message on Friday - I had a busy weekend and didn't have the time to answer. As I had tried to explain before, we need sources to demonstrate that he is notable. It doesn't matter what he has done or how great he is, if no one has noticed and written articles about him, then we shouldn't have an article. As the notice above explains, the wider community will decide whether to keep or delete the article based on our policies. SmartSE (talk) 21:09, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Questions concerning the deletion of large quantities of text from Section on Iona Prep football team[edit]

I noticed that you have deleted huge quantities of text from the section on the Iona Prep football team. I don't know who you are are where you came from, but it's not a good idea to arbitrarily delete text from an encyclopedia. I worked long and hard to add this information to the encyclopedia, and I see no reason why anyone should make such a destructive and capricious edit to the article.

I'm going revert back to my last edit before you began your rampage yesterday. If you like, you can add additional information to the article, such as the new info on Renzie Lamb. Do not delete any of the existing information.

Hi, Buttsco. Strange name, but I like strange. In further review of the above article, You were fine in removing all the content you originally did. It does not belong in the article for two reasons.

  1. We generally do not discuss any legal actions (criminal or civil) unless they are being talked about in reliable SECONDARY sources such as mainstream newpapers or magazines. (specific examples for this case would be New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes or Fortune). The only references are to Lexus/Nexus, which is a primary source.
  2. We also do not discuss legal action until it is resolved generally, unless said actions have had such wide reporting that not discussing them would seem like whitewashing.

And let me tell you why I reverted in the first place. Understanding my reason will save you lots of grief on Wikipedia in the future. Your edit summary "Removed old, inaccurate information" is vague and not based in policy. "Removed poorly sourced information" would be better. Same with your talk page message to me, " I think the section concerning the lawsuits are unfair to Mr. Maloney...". They were. But no-one on Wikipedia cares what either you or I think or feel. Keeping your discussions non personal, only talking about the content, and only in terms of what the sources say and the quality of the sources (and in some cases, policy) serves everyone better. Thanks for being understanding, and I hope this interaction helps us both, me to look closer, and you to understand the group mindset at wikipedia a little better. If I can ever be of assistence, feel free to drop me a note on my talk page. John from Idegon (talk) 22:09, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:35, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
