Not the most civil advice[edit]

Hi there,

Just wanted to apologise for the fairly curt advice you received at ANI. The notification point is key, but the rest of it (while all correct) seemed to be provided in an overly abrupt fashion. I see you're pretty active elsewhere, so I'm sure you've had more abrupt comments in the past, but please feel free to ask my any questions, now or in the future, about our profusion of conduct noticeboards "the drama boards". Non-breaking spaces[edit]

Hi there. Is there a reason you removed all the non-breaking spaces from Live at the BBC (Beatles album) in this edit? M.Clay1 (talk) 03:34, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I removed them because they didn't have any physical effect on the output of the page, and was doing a bit of cleaning. I removed them because I didn't think they were needed. And mostly those sorts of things don't get added to pages on purpose, so I thought they should be removed. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:31, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm moving your reply here to keep the conversation in one place. WP:MOS recommends non-breaking spaces for certain uses. They stop automatic line breaks occurring where a regular space could be. For example, with "Word / Word", you'd always want to keep the slash with the first word – a non-breaking space prevents a line break after the first word causing the slash to start a new line. I've never experienced them being added unintentionally. It's only a recommendation, so it's fine if you don't want to add them, but it's best not to remove ones others have added. Good article status[edit]

Hello C.Syde65! I was wondering if it's possible we could get the The Sims 2 article to good article status? I noticed that the article was ranked B on the WikiProject Video Games scale; this means that it's one step away from being good-article status and I think we might be able to get it there, seeing as the article is mostly good with some sections needing expansion here and there. I've seen you a lot on the Sims Wiki and related TS2 discords so I know you're a respected member of the community. What steps should be taken to get the article to GA status? Thanks! shanghai.talk to me 16:21, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Slow Down line-up[edit]

I added the Beatles Bible as a source, but with a template saying better source needed, and it plainly states that John played rhythm guitar and George played lead guitar. Ian MacDonald was sincerely wrong to say that they swapped roles and besides, the tone of the solo clearly resembles George's playing. I added extra sources, namely Something Else Reviews and the Paul McCartney Project. 220.245.115.93 (talk) 05:48, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature and linter errors[edit]

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags. They create Linter errors, but unfortunately because the replacement signature C.Syde (talk | contribs) is too long (332 characters > 255), you are advised to change it to something else.

The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature. See WP:SIGFONT for more info. Sheep (talk) 04:37, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed P2P proxy, but I have granted you WP:IPBE for one year. Once that expires, if you keep on hitting these blocks and are still an editor in good standing :), you are free to request an IPBE extension. Yamla (talk) 10:47, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the dates of birth that you added to Angela Goethals. Your edit summary said, "Her date of birth is sourced by IMDb further down the page. . . ." Unfortunately, IMDb is not a reliable source. Please see WP:IMDB. You might also want to read WP:USERGENERATED to see some other sites that are similarly unreliable.

Also, if you find a reliable source, please include it as a citation in the text immediately after the date. Mentioning a source in an edit summary is not sufficient documentation. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:09, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
